Nope...he is suing because cars in Canada cost more in Canada than the same cars in the US. he only wants $2 Billion to make things right. My lawsuit would be just as frivolous...too many hot cars for my wallet. :AH-HA_wink:

if this is the new V-series...I AM IN LINE. Actually: I would like to take the time here to start a class action lawsuit (just like the guy in Canada) against GM for making way too many hot cars for the simple, working class joes to buy! It should be only legal for GM to give us one hot assed car per year for ALL divisions. All of this lust is killing me! Look at our choices: Enclave, CTS, '08 C6/ZO6, XLR-V, ZR-1, G8, Malibu (make a nice winter car next to the CTS or Vette) Just in those few I mention, we are well into the $300,000 price tag...and this is if you choose to ignore such wonderful tidbits like the Sky, Solstice, HHR SS, Tahoe, Denali, Escalade, GMT-900 pick-ups, Aura, Trailblazer SS - the list goes on! I am telling you, this should be illegal!!! I have got to win the lottery.

Fly- classic answer!!! Simply classic!

I caught myself doing this more and more lately, actually being somewhat aggressive in my attempts to keep the foreign car drivers at the curb as I go past. I have even slowed down when there would have been plenty of room behind me for the guy waiting on the side to merge into traffic, but decided his Prius or Tundra could wait for the next guy to go by. Yeah, I am a child, I know. (by the way, if it is a matter of safety for the person on the side of the road, I always let them in, even I am not that uncool - even if the car they are driving is!) On the contrary, if there is a hot Domestic that might have the room to get in if I speed up, I do to allow them in. Just wondering if I am all alone in this one...plus I thought it would be fun to see what you all do/think.

Besides the fact that they are all Toyotas? What else do you need?

Holden engineer dozes off, crashes Pontiac G8 on test drive

Driveline...check! Handling...Check Crash test....oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh SSSSSHHHHHHHH**********TTTTTT!!!!...check! That is one determined engineer! -
My 2007 Tahoe has given me 24k trouble-free, rattle free, and exciting miles. I cannot wait to get into the truck at the end of a hard day. It tows our '57 Buick wagon with ease - and at 80 mph was still giving us 16-18 mpg with that pig behind us, with both AC systems on high...what a truck! I highly recommend them to EVERYONE!
-
that...looks...really...WIDE! Is it just me, or does that car look wide, even by Z06 standards? Beautiful by the way.

Ummm...better wear a helmet if you are planning on doing this!!! Seriously: They show the Tundra loaded with a TON of SH*T (literally!) They show it towing a cargo container out of a cavern totally unassisted...they show it towing up a teeter-totter with 10000000 or so tins on it, and in reality it cannot even handle a lawn tractor? Seriously? GM marketing should jump on this so damned fast our heads should spin. Show the damage incurred by doing what tens of thousands do every weekend in this country with a real truck made by Chevy, Dodge and Ford...then show the Tundra TRYING to do real tasks that Joe America does weekly. The fact is, the Tundra has been falsely advertised and it is time they are called to the mat on it. 4 star crash rating. splintering camshafts, drivetrain issues, bed flex from hell, and now tailgates that cannot handle loads. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/22/toyota-...quality-issues/ seriously read the blogs by psarhjinian...this guy HAS to work for Toyota...and by the looks of his name he is blogging from India as part of an outsource program!!! And let's say that the owner was ABLE to load some weight in the truck and shut the gate...what happens if it becomes unsecured and slides back...will the gate even withstand that? Would you follow behind one with something in the bed or on the tailgate? I won't.

I know it is an Automatic, but that Barbados Blue is a rare color to begin with...and if you are commuting the auto is pretty nice for traffic tie ups. All the cars you mention should be great fun. If you are financing, the money might be better on the newer cars, which may come close to offsetting the higher initial price. Plus, at $3.00 a gallon, you can probably talk them down on the '05/06 units.

If you look at who is taking the photo of ed posing with his baby, I think you will see it is none other than Maximum Bob Lutz. And I bet that this car will not bomb...way too sexy for that to happen. I personally cannot wait to blow my kid's college fund on this thing.

I cannot wait for this car. I have heard some things that have me even MORE excited about this car. (And I won't tell!) :AH-HA_wink: Go GM, GO!!

update DAY TWO: Just spent the day going all over the fine city of Orlando at .5 mph with 5 adults in the Acadia. Tourist traffic here is such fun, and you really need to be ready to bob and weave. The truck handles the moves with grace and confidence. Really does the in town commute really well. Noticed on the info screen that she is averaging 20.3 mpg - that is 6 better in town then the Tahoe...hmmm. In today's prices, that saves a lot of money on the daily drive. Today's drive took us to Universal Studios, and upon our escape I had a short juant on the highway for one exit. On the highway she is such a smooth truck and merges easily and without too many odd noises - wish GM could put the soundtack of a BMW inline 6 in the Bose sound system that works with the throttle...or even a Northstar V8...the power is enough especially when you consider the mileage. With that said, I miss the power of the Tahoe though. The truck feels sluggish with everyone on board, and the trans seemed to want to shift a lot to try to keep up. Perhaps the trans reprogram would solve this and have it hold the gear a little longer. Holding that lower gear would keep the engine from lugging and giving that sluggish feel. A couple of things have me really thinking about one of these over the next Tahoe though: the back seats seem a lot easier to get in and out of than the Tahoe, and the fold flat third row should be standard equipment in every GM sport utility they make. Easy to fold and reset...even in the rain with a wet bumper, my pants did not get wet against the bumper. That is great engineering right there! Something else: It sure is easy to park- it feels smaller - even though dimensionally there is only a few inches here and there between the two. I think it is the sightlines over the hood and at the corners. I still hate the mirrors though. Only other complaints have to be the chrome trim around the shifter is loose, and when you toss it into gear, it tends to fall all the way down to Low. Pretty minor in all. Overall, really an easy to live with car/truck. She gets pressed into serious taxi duty tomorrow with 6 on board. I will keep posting if you guys are interested.

I just flew into beautiful soggy Orlando, Florida for a convention and decided to rent one of the Lamda trio for the week I am here to see how it handles it's duties day to day. We will be transporting people to the show, 5-7 of them on certain days, as well as showing customers around a few bakeries in the area. Unlike my normal one-person point of view when I rent a car, I want to see how it handles the people and the luggage that goes with them. Also, my wife and I will be considering this truck and the Saturn sibling when her lease is up on our lemon-y unfresh Commander. So at National I pick up an Acadia SLT FWD in bright silver over grey leather. Pretty attractive combo, but I think it would be a world better with the chrome wheels. I glance at the truck and notice that there are dings here and there and that she has been mistreated already by a few of her renters. Inside, the light grey seats show the dirt fairly well, as it looks ready for a serious bath. I glance down at the easy to read guages and smile - 15,659 miles already - so the abuse should have taken the toll on the car and reared up any shortcomings in the design by now. After all, it has been in a rental fleet, and we all know how easy life in the fleet can be. First impression: roomy cockpit and everything is where it should be. Feels a bit more comfy, or as comfy as my Tahoe. The mirrors may look nice but the sharp angle really takes away the rear view I want when glancing in the mirror. I adjust them a but higher and it seems to help, but a little more mirror face on such a big truck would be nice. Some controls feel like they were made of a cheaper grade of plastic than the ones in my Chevy, but they work well and the clink clunk of thier movement is not distracting or obscene. Cannot say the same for the turn signal chime from a 1978 LeMans...man is that loud! Best just turn those off when sitting for a long light in the turn lane. Seats are comfy and the tilt/tele wheel make it easy to find the wheel placement. This is a very simular style of wheel adjuster to my old BMW; drop the lever, move the wheel for and aft up and down then relock lever. Simple and effective - something that I wish were on my Tahoe. Score one for the Acadia. Front windows are both express down AND UP! (Cannot say the same for the rears, damned lawyers!!!) Well, at least the fronts are both ways. The engine is quiet and the truck moves out pretty good. After reading nearly every writer say that they are under powered, I was caught off guard when she had more than I thought she did. While it will not set fire to the asphault with those front wheels, it does scoot pretty good for something this big. The trans shifts without a thunk or a miscue-(well ONCE I caught it looking for the right gear when I dipped into the throttle then backed off quick when the lane was occupied suddenly...like it was trying to pick juuuusssssst the perfect gear for that occasion and the phone rang distracting it for a second. That really has been the only driveline issue I have found and I SURELY caused it. ) The A/C is typical GM perfect and quickly chilled the cabin and the four occupants therein. The only driveline issue I have noticed is in the steering; a slight groan is almost always present when the steering is actuated. Have not checked the fluid level (it's raining) but could just be inherent in the trucks...anyone else ever hear this? For now I have fixed the issue by increasing the volume on the wonderful stereo in the truck. Torque steer is well modulated...non existent actually...and the car...er truck is really easy and fun to drive. It does not feel big or move in a cumbersome manner, and the wheels stay planted over rough uneven pavement without the normal Thwunk that you usually got in an older GM when the suspension met full articulation in either direction. Body roll is well controlled and it is relatively quiet on the road, with good feedback through the wheel and the seat of your pants. It feels almost BMW-esque on the road! Other impressions: the chrome areas on the thresholds of the five doors have taken a beating in 15,000 miles of hard use. They show dents and scratches in the obviously real aluminum trim pretty easily...you would probably want to be more careful with your own car or hope that the weather tech mats that you buy protect them from the everyday toil of loading and unloading whatever it is you throw in there. (Do renters do this damage on purpose???) With all of this, I am happy to report not a single rattle, sniggle, pop, crack, groan, snick, or other out of place noise is heard in this truck. After day 1 and over 90 miles of stop and go in town lost like the tourist I am driving, the gas guage has barely wiggled. I leave her parked in the rain impressed thus far.

You sure? They do have a B-pillar!!!! And I guess the split would be a D-pillar???
-
Italian bodied Americans have not fared well at B-J...I would say somewhere in the $350,000-475,000 range. And mentioning styling cues from the Fiat 124 is not going to help. It has no American show heritage, nor the appeal of the C2 Corvette ( to me. ) Kind of a different car though.
-
Find the car again and have a bumper sticker you can slap on it that says "Neutered!" Then it will be more accurate.

I will be ordering my Hybrid Tahoe as soon as possible. That Blue Grey is nice with grey leather. I am just trying to justify the 4 foot tall lettering that states HYBRID down each side of the truck so I can watch the faces of the Prius owners when this thing blocks out the sun. It will look just just like the 88 C/K pick-up with the 4x4 on the sides...

Nebiewar- I thank you for the 'book' it was informative...I was just kidding is all. Thank you for taking the time to look that up for me. I actually learned a lot reading that. Oddly enough, a Google of 'Jeep Commander Battery' brought up this: http://blogs.edmunds.com/roadtests/303 seems it happened to Edmunds two times during their time with the truck!!! What a great vehicle. Guess I will be sending a letter or two to the folks at Cerebus...bet they wil be really happy to see they have that new lifetime warranty in place with great cars like mine prowling the streets. Seriously - thank you for looking that up for me and taking the time to highlight it for me. That was truly awesome of you. I will let you know of the outcome of all of this. I will say that, coupled with the other problems that the car has that other's are experiencing...I want it gone and out of my life. Serves me right for not buying a GM.

well, I have lost complete confidence in the truck. I travel a lot and this is a major hardship on my wife and kids (It's her car) so I will have to arrange for a rental car or be without my car for a while. I will start my fight with Chrysler in the morning. I will keep you posted. It seems that I have a case in reading over the book that newbiewar gave us . I am curious if they will try to put us into another Commander for the remainder of the lease or if they will just write us out of it completely and let us walk away. I hope to walk away with the moneys owed to us and march over to a Saturn dealer pretty quickly. If another Jeep, I will see if they have a diesel Cherokee that they will put us into.
-
Well, I tried to give Chrysler my money on one of the Jeep Commanders...but it keeps letting us down. It has failed - in the garage - THREE times now. Exact same issue: The battery completely drains after the car is left for 12 hours or more. The first time, it was jumped through roadside assistance (so it would be documented) and we drove it to the dealership. Everything tested fine, so we took it home. Three months later, dead. Towed it to the dealership. They claimed the battery was more than likely discharged by the cell phone charger in the outlet and told us to eliminate the cell phone charger - as 'this happens all the time'...I asked the guy nicely if the word idiot was written on my person anywhere...he just smiled. Now this morning - nada. Not even a click, pop or ding from the key in the ignition announcer...battery (which was replaced on Visit 2) was putting out 3.5 volts. Roadside tried to jump it. Would not even jump start! So off to the dealer goes the Jeep. So my question is now: Do we have a case for the Lemon Law here? Same issue, three times we have been left stranded by the car, and we will be told tomorrow afternoon that they can find nothing wrong with the car. I really want this car out of my life at this point as it is my wife's car and she becomes unbearable without wheels. So, if any of you have been through this and can give me some pointers, please advise. If we get it gone, I see an Outlook or Acadia in the VERY NEAR future.

in Toyota's defense...the trailer probably was not dangling into a rock quarry nor was there a huge teeter-totter set-up to go through, so they just let the Chevy do the work for them. Toyota - riding on the backs of American Workers for 40 years. I recieved this from the Fbodfather in my e-mail this AM...best e-mail of the day by far. GM Needs this to be a billboard in every city in the world - NOW!
-
"and in other news, GM has hired NON-TEAMSTER independent drivers to deliver their cars. Officials at GM find out that independent drivers actually CARE about what they haul, vow to never allow a teamster to haul their cars again." Hey Teamsters: Who is delivering TOYOTA'S to all the dealerships? If it is Your Guys, you are a bunch of hippocrites! Let the UAW take you out of the car business...I don't think it will have that big of an effect on the economy.

UAW sets strike deadline for Monday morning
toesuf94 replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
UAW WORKER: "Gee - where did my job go? " - Answer: "Somewhere else!" Please GM Management - do not cave on this one. Stay strong. I hate to see the workers out of a job due to the Union's actions, but here is a chance to show the U.S. just how many people you employ here. State your case; show every Tom, Dick and Herriet just how much these people on the lines make and what the benefits they are already receiving are in a huge article in every paper in the U.S.. Spell it out for everyone - be transparent. Take this to the streets in any way that you can to show that the Union is acting unfair and show us what they want. I bet that would paint the UAW in a really bad light. Here is my problem with the Union: They are nothing more than a sweatshop for a Political Action Committee that generally supports the party that is Anti-business; Higher taxes, more regulation, ect...and they refuse to see the world in the big picture. They have outlived their purpose. -

I have to agree to these points...and in the 'Global Economy' we are in, you cannot pay a guy $50-70 an hour to screw lug nuts on a car and be competitive in the market. It is just not feasable any longer. When you are building cars alongside Toyota, who is not under union constraints - something has to give. Of course, when Hillary and Obama give us all free healthcare, won't all of this Union posturing be for not anyway? After all, the Government will be taking care of us for the rest of our lives! :AH-HA_wink:
