Sorry about the cars, man. Hope they catch the guy. At least you were not in them or hurt. You may want to take the Target sponsorship off the Prizm...the Target Logo is making the car way too attactive and people are taking it wrong. Just my 2 cents.

This post struck a nerve with me...leaving 20+ years at Buick because he feels that they have abandoned the brand back at HQ? Did he not see the Enclave is one of the hottest cars on the market right now? The new Invicta is stunning. Has he NOT seen the absolute turmoil that is Toyota? Then I read that another poster in the know of the '06's driving habits are mostly HIGHWAY...the absolute WORST place to drive a HYBRID with any semblance of mileage. Hybrids only give gains when driven in TOWN - they actually LOOSE mileage on the highway! With all of this in mind, I am seriously hoping his Toyota experience sucks REALLY, REALLY BADLY. If it anything like my brother's experience with the dealers he has had to be at constantly with the two he has - it will seriously suck to be him. You will deserve what you get with the new Toyota Crapry Golfcart. I wll tell you that I see a lot of them coming into our local Buick dealer on trades. The last one was an Avalon with 600 miles on it. The guy hated it THAT BAD and took a huge bath on the trade on a Lucerne. May this happen to you at a better Buick dealer then the one that made you make this absolutely ascinine decision in the first place.

$4.80 a gallon is only .25-.35 cents away all accross this country. We will be right there with you. And the I-35 bridge already fell into the Mississippi, so we beat you there! I can also guarantee that half or all of the taxes collected for infrastructure have already been repropriated to another cause - welfare, war, and the endless hole that is New Orleans. That one is going to be swallowing up tons of tax dollars for quite some time. And here is one I don't get in this country any longer: Why does every victim get a settlement from the government now? The parents of the students killed in the VT massacre all received payouts from the state to keep the State from getting sued. The only persons that should be getting sued are the maniac gunman's parents! Same for the 9/11 victims. Tradgedy - yes. Government payout - no. Katrina Victims: YOU LIVE INSIDE A BOWL BELOW SEA LEVEL. Cat 5 Hurricane's a commin' - better leave. Instead we are rebuilding it and paying it's citizens a fortune. Why?
-
You are being too kind...I would say that 99.9% of all politicians, on either side of the isle, fail at upholding the Constitution or doing the will of the people. I cannot think of a single tax paying American who ever thought that giving a politician a raise at the beginning of each year/term was a good idea. And that is only 1 example. Taxes, are another. And since this is an automotive web site, can ANYONE tell me why the infrastructure of the U.S. is failing with the amount of tax dollars per DAY being collected through the gasoline tax?
-
So, let me get this straight, because I am a Republican I am an ecological terrorist who does not pay taxes, hates all minorities, thinks Gays and Lesbians are going to HELL, I Love Rush and O'Reily, and generally wants to destroy all of the world in order to make a buck, correct? Oh, and I know how to control a woman's coochy better than she does and because she us so irrational all the time, then I shall stop her from having any chance of having an abortion. Well, people I am pissed at your generaliazation of the members of the party. In an effort to be a more caring person like you Republican bashers, I will now think like a lib-tard for a minute: -Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Hillary and Bill are all the saviors of the world...OH! and Obama! By the way - all of the people on that short list of Liberals is a wealthy person well beyond my means that made the money off of the people's back that they pretend to care about. Ted Kennedy is a better swimmer than a drunk. Remember that. Also, name one contribution to society that any ONE of these individuals EVER made to our society. One. I can wait... -Killing unborn babies is good, But killing skull f@#king child molesters or people who prey on the innocent is BAD. Personally I could care less about abortion - if you want one, go for it - BUT DO NOT ASK ME TO PAY FOR IT AS A MEANS FOR YOU TO HAVE BIRTH CONTROL. It is YOUR choice. You live with it. Criminals on the other hand, kill them after conviction of violent crime. Liberals choose to give the criminals RIGHTS and have even chosen to let them VOTE again. Where is the penalty for doing injustice? Only the victims pay in our society run by the liberals (they hold the courts). -Oil Companies and companies that produce products are BAD, right? High taxes on those individuals and corporations is good and they should be raised, right? So - where did all the jobs go? AWAY! YAY! Good thing too, because the caribou would never forgive us. No war for oil? Then QUIT BITCHING ABOUT THE COST OF OIL AND GAS. WE HAVE TO GET IT SOMEWHERE - EITHER WE BUY IT ON THE WORLD MARKET, or we drill for it. The WAR is about terrorism and the stabilization of the Middle east in order to keep the market stabilized. OPEC has us by the balls and is standing with the arab brethren in protest of the war, hence the high prices which is further augmented by huge demand in developing countries. The US is an OIL BASED Economy. Without the oil and the manufacturing jobs it provides, the country is DONE. This is an AUTOMOTIVE site, correct? These same liberal people are the screamers of Global Warming and are the idiots DEMANDING higher CAFE standards while they fly around on our dimes in Gulfstreams and other private jets. If you side with these people, you deserve the Trabant or Smart FourTwo they MAY allow you to drive someday. -Rich people will always find a way to remain so - Socialism (Liberalism, same thing) will never work in this country because of that very simple fact. The money will leave, investments will stop, and the country will fail. The very people you intend to vote for are the very people who want to see Socialism take hold in this country. They don't want YOU to have a car - the bus THEY provide YOU with YOUR tax dollars will do you just fine. By the way folks on the LEFT...socialism has failed in EVERY country that it is tried in. Same goes for Socialized Medicine. Niether system works - IT HAS BEEN PROVEN time and time again. Ask Canada - " Brain Tumor? We can Operate in 6-8 weeks, maybe more, take a number and wait over there!" - So, the next time you bash a republican, remember, the chances are that republican owns a company that is providing a job or jobs to somebody, and that by raising taxes on that person's company, somebody is going to loose thier job in order to pay for that increase. In an effort to help you understand liberalism better from a Republican's point of view: Think of liberals as Union Leaders striking against G.M. (the Republicans) and doing what they can to bring down the mighty and bad polution making company. When they get the task done, and there is no company to attack - who is it that will be paying the taxes they need for the socialist programs and ideals that they cling to? And NO, I do not own a GUN RACK, nor do I preach fire and brimstone, nor do I think destruction of the world's ecology is a wise practice. I do not hate gays or lesbians, again, it is your choice and your lifestyle - I don;t go waving my Hetero-I-am-Married-with-kids-banner in your face, so please keep your rainbow to yourself. I am happy you are happy, really. I also do not think Bush is as big an idiot as all of you claim he is either when I compare him to the likes of Barbara Boxer, Al Gore, Hillary, Nancy Pelosi or Jimmy Carter for all of thier completely flawed ideals and programs that do nothing but place a burden on the taxpayers of this country and do NOTHING to help those they intend to. And no, I also do not think that the Republicans are much better at solving much either. Remember my motto at the end of this rant: Those that Can - DO! Those That can't - Teach, And those who cannot do either are Politicians. Politicians are nothing more than Welfare Recipients who figured out how to work the system better than anyone else. That is why they are so loyal to those 'beneath' them, it keeps them in a job.

I love the 57-esque check mark style line running down the flanks. There are nice heritage cues in this design...love it. Wish it were rear wheel drive, but I have to say I am slacking on my firm stance on this topic (mostly as I am running out of choices at GM.) Build it guys...it is stunning!

My phone call to GM Corporate on the '09 XLR: "Hello, GM?? Yes? Hi. This is John Q. Public calling and I was wondering who I can talk to somebody with a brain at the Cadillac Division...does such a person exist? O.K. well here is my complaint about the 'new' 2009 XLR...THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR FU*&ING FLAGSHIP CAR AND YOU STICK A SET OF SIDE VENTS OFF OF A WRECKED VUE SUV AND SOME CHROME AROUND THE GRILLE AS A 'MAJOR UPDATE'? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! OH, AND LET'S TALK WHEELS: THESE WHEELS HAVE BEEN ON THE CAR SINCE THE DAMNED THING WAS INTRODUCED IN 2004. CAN YOU NOT DO ANY BETTER THAN THOSE UGLY, CHEESY WHEELS? COME ON! HOW CAN THIS CAR BE BUILT IN THE SAME PLANT AS THE UBER HOT CORVETTE AND NOT HAVE SOMETHING RUB OFF ON THE CADDY GUYS? GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES AND PUT SOME WORK INTO THIS CAR - OR IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE F-ING SIDE VENTS TACKED ON - ADD THE ONES FROM YOUR DAMNED PRODUCT LINE! ESCALADE, CTS, STS...THEY ALL HAVE THEM, GO LOOK AT ONE AND PUT THOSE ON THE DAMNED FENDER IF YOU FEEL THAT IS WHAT THE PUBLIC WANTS. WHAT YOU DID HERE IS A TRAVESTY AND IS BENEATH THE CAR THE XLR SHOULD BE. Thanks for listening. Take care. Bye!"

...yes. De-rice-ification would make it PERFECT in my eyes. Wonder if the wife would mind having a two door?

I see once again: It is now a Supplier Issue. Also, new to the Tundra vocabulary: Environmental issue. Was nice to read something about Toyota that did not include Best EVER

If you watch SETUP on Speed, they discussed some power adders to the Solsti they were working on, and that they had the first 12 kits in the country. I would love to know what the power increase is. If you do watch, did you catch the accident in the last episode. DESTROYED a Solstice with at least 3 flips. UGLY.

Cappy: Sorry for your loss. We lost an '85 S-10 blazer that was MINT back in 1990 it had a whopping 28,000 miles on it (mom's car we bought new) Stolen and recovered in NY - caught the perps driving it, and told us to come get the car - then the COPS stripped it. They found out we were coming and moved the truck to another lot where it was subsequently used for parts for the cops in the yard. We put it back to cherry again, and my brother took it to Chicago. Parked it at the Chicago marathon...cops towed it to help with traffic flow after the race - was found stripped and burned. She died with only 34,000 miles on it. Still hurts to this day - I loved that little Blazer. The 2.8 was worthless, but she tried! I am willing to bet that your perps have an in with junk guys in your area, and the car is old enough to look like it belongs in a yard (sorry) it is heavy enough to be worth a quick $300 at the scales/shredder. Sorry, but I doubt it exists in anything more than fist size chunks at this point. Hope you catch the guys and do the same to them!

March 2008 Sales: Toyota Motor Sales USA
toesuf94 replied to VenSeattle's topic in 2008 Sales Archive
Nobody wants another warmed over bar of soap on wheels with a lactating badger in the front seat that will gnaw your face off if your cell phone rings...no matter how many $189/month signs they hang on the ugly step-child of Camry. PLUS! If you buy one, your girlfriend gets banged by the entire water-polo team. Who wants sloppy sevenths? eww. Plus you have to drive a Corolla. -
1992 Pontiac Firebird 'Vert V8 54K only 7.5K!
toesuf94 replied to gm4life's topic in Heritage Marques
I might have had to put this on my credit card had it been a Camaro...although this car is clean enough to have me reaching for the wallet...SWEET FIND! Hope it does not end up in some dumb-ass trailer trash kids hands with a big bass box in the back seat and trashed in a year or two. That would be a shame. Not a lot of third gens like this one left in this shape. -
I have to laugh at the perfect 'butt print' in the seat cushion. I don't know why, but it struck me as funny. And the 1980's seat rail design is pretty sad. I will say I like these better than the Neon in looks. Good luck with it.

I have a guy who is a huge 350 Diesel fan - everything he has to drive had one in it - including a Cutlass Supreme with FACTORY T-tops! Anywho, he bought the last three crate engines that he could get his hands on to keep his fleet running and was told that GM pushed the rest of them into a shredder somewhere. So your scrounging may be confined to fist sized chunks if his story was true. This was about 6-7 years ago. Anyone have any more on this? And I wonder how many 1981 Cutlass Supreme Diesels were equiped with t-tops!

Buick 364 Nailhead - 57 - 59. Buick 322 Nailhead - 53 - 56 Blocks, heads and hardparts do not mix between ANY of the nailhead lines due to width and displacement changes. Fun to find parts, let me tell you! Oh, and the GNx Grand national 3.8 Turbo
-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cutlass-Sup...tem110235492525 1 owner Cutlass with 29k miles on it! Looks really nice in the pics. PA car. Sorry bv, had to. On a serious note, if I was not in the midst of the resto on the 57, I may have taken you up on the $800 offer for the beast!

I personally would be interested MORE if it was the four door variant that was being brought over so that I could put my family in it. Another two seater is not what my garage needs right now. NOW...if they were to put a Coolant Green WAGON G8 GT on the boat for me, I will be waiting at the docks with a checkbook in hand. Maybe even an Orange one. Not gonna nit pick.

I cannot believe I forgot my favorite wagons - Nomad and Safari in 1957. Let's make em rare with Fuel Injection/ Tri powers on em!
-
1957 - Love the styling. Would buy and own the following in no particular order: 57 Corvette Fuelie 57 Bonneville Convertible Fuelie 57 Chevrolet Convertible Bel Air Fuelie 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville with the Sabre Wheels 1957 Buick Roadmaster Convertible - this would be my daily driver! Or a Caballero Wagon for the wife and kids. 57 Oldsmobile J2 Hardtop or Convertible 88. Pretty much the entire GM Lineup was impressive Maybe throw in a finned Chrysler letter car - they were also impressive cars at the time. For Performance: 1969 The Camaro was/is hot (my all time dream car!). The Superbirds were on the lot with a 440, a 6 pack, and a 4 speed Make mine rootbeer brown or Sassy grass green, please. If not available, a Go-Mango one would be different! A 1969 BIG BAD Orange AMX would be fun with a 401 and a 4 speed. Oh, and the chevelles and El Caminos were hot tickets too! Make the Chevelle an SS396 Convertible, please. For a daily driver: A 1969 Impala COPO 427 with the hidden headlights and a set of buckets and a console shifted Auto!

G8 - proper wheels are being driven for the first time in a GM Sedan since 1996. I like the looks of the 'bu, the G6, the Aura...but will never buy one due to the FWD and I live in the snow belt. I cannot wait to see the G8 in person.
-
Buy it...if one pops up that is better on a used lot, you will easily get your $500 back on the trade in - OR MORE! Plus - 1 trip to the junk yard will yield you the aluminum wheels and trim bits you need for very low coin.

Mustang has a live rear axle versus the Camaro's IRS. Mustang has less of an interior than we will reportedly get in the Camaro. Those two items alone should bring the price point above the current Mustang. Personally, I am pissed that the Mustang is even in the target zone of the Camaro development. They should be targeting the BMW 3er, the Infiniti G35/350Z twins and other 'up market' coupes out there. The Mustang is not that great (while still an attractive package) and should not be a benchmark for the new Camaro, merely a stepping stone to walk over to get where the car needs to be. Hell, truth is, the Camaro should be aiming at the Nissan GT-R and spanking it for half the money! I am intrigued by the 4 cylinder in this car, but my heart wants that V8.

Ask the Euro humping pussies how much Audi, BMW and Mercedes pay the US Government in GAS GUZZLING fees/taxes EACH YEAR! The number is pretty damned high! GM has only 5 cars on the list for 2008! See for yourself: http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/guzzler/420b07018.pdf Most of all of the list is German Owned.

Memo to GM: Build THE FOOKING THING ALREADY!!!
