Saturn does need the Meriva and Zafira here ASAP. Look out for the Honda Fit to keep going up up up in sales. Even if gas prices dip below where they are now [3.20 in my neck of the woods]....small cars are going to make a comeback. Meriva and Zafira would help Saturn's brand image greatly. GREATLY. They need them now.

As i like to vote for the underdog, I wish them the best....but the Eclipse is nasty now, Galant has no place, along with the rest of thier lineup except Evo. I don't beleive Mitsu has a place, and haven't for some time.

there's not a thing i can disagree with in this article. the points about eye-catching design, it's funny how a year later, Impala has been left far in the dust by the camry's design, which is classy, distinct, substantial, confident, and almost luxurious. The completey subpar materials quality of the impala, the engine lineup, the use of the archaic platform that steals space and robs comfort, bland/everday design that is not eye-catching as competitors, the poor driveability when compared to Honda and new camry all add up to an entirely below average vehicle and point to the reasons why GM is failing to reach that target. That Impala sales are up can only speak to the power of GM's dealer setup, the loyalty of Midwesterners, normal new car sales, and the DEAL. As time has gone on, and Camry has been king again and again....well time is running out, and the mentality may have gone too far now.....most Americans are used to the Japanese now.....time may be completely run out for GM now [to do certain things].

just read the whole thread.....don't have much time lately for this, but i laughed out loud when wpharry came into it all. back to the program at hand. this malibu looks good from what I can see. I especially like the curvy rear end. We should all be reminded even the grille is most likely not in final production form here. But it could be. And it looks good regardless. The added length in the rear is what is making this car look so large. The wheelbase is the same length still, but the rear has that added overhang look to mimic the last Impala and for that large car feel.

Wowwwwww. That is a wonderful stance, taut sheetmetal. looks tough, modern and properly aggressive. I agree the wing looks terrific.

Uplander is a complete flop and as big of a disaster in market positioning as GM could make. Sienna and Odyssey far outsell the GM minivans, in retail numbers they obliterate the GM vans. A harsh reality, but GM is far far from competitive with the real market for minivans. The real minivans feel like they are decades more advanced than the GM vans, and I'm not talking about the interior quality. GM needs to come back with something once they've done the proper homework...they never do it anyway.

you have your opinion, i have mine. insiders can tell you what direction the next SRX is headed....it won't be keeping it's current wagon look.....the insiders can also tell you what a disaster the crash program for a third row seat posed for the rear styling. The SRX can be a great looking wagon...with great looking, large rims. I appreciate the fact that it's different, but GM's choice of standard wheels is poor, and a lot about the rear wraparound window, and it's tall sides, is bad.

this car really needs an extreme makeover....but if advertised correctly, and if the changes to the interior are as significant as they can be--though the wording of this press release is giving me pessimism as to what we may ultimately see--and the exterior changes are smart and classy....this car can definitely add sales. Its dynamics and utility are at the top.....it's just the luxury factor that was missing before. 20" wheels.....about damn time.

I don't think so. Not as of now, at least. The Galant is a complete dud, along with the rest of thier vehicles. Outlander may have a chance at being something relevant......but Endeavor [a nice car that I actually like], Lancer, Eclipse, Galant, are all so irrelevant to the market. Evo is the only thing saving thier crediblity, and it's barely adding anything.

you're right but Q never had credibility to begin with, it just got lost in the pack. M is an incredible car any way around. That interior is at least what STS quality/design reach should have been.

through April Honda has sold 46,432 Pilots, without major incentives and the backing of a major dealer body like Chrysler has. Pacifica is a nice enough idea that isn't executed the way it should be....too heavy, poor/geriatric design, poor quality interior, terrible transmission.....speak to owners about it and you'll hear nothing but complaints.......Pacifica=sales dud....look up the number of dealers has in America compared to Honda, then compare total sales figures, then look at incentives, and you'll see which car people truly want.

STS has the advantage of coming in on a "roll" for Cadillac, depending on who you talk to. So, it's got that going for it, more Cadillac's are on the road in this area than ever, so yeah more people will look at STS seriously. The fact that STS is a credible competitor more than any big Caddy sedan recently also helps. BUT....it could have done a lot lot better. Witness the credibility Infiniti has gained with the truly credible M45.

that's called stupid marketing. your sport model cannot outperform the competition's base model.EDIT: the result is stupid marketing. the cause are stupid committee based decisions that give the Eck unrefined/underpowered engines and poor handling in the first place.

Who wouldn't be excited about this lineup that we have pleaded for for years here? I'm not excited about the waiting game....so it's hard to get excited about GM right now....since everything is always so far away.

I believe the convertible could have been a huge success had it launched with the G6 sedan two years ago, when it would have had no competitors and could have helped the rest of the G6 lineup make a splash. As it is now, and with the Eos coming, and two years down the line the new Camry coupe/vert, and of course the Sebring hardtop likely coming soon, this car has become a very tough sell. Buyers in the 20k market are expecting a car with high quality trimmings and a solid/sophisticated feel/sound/ride--the G6 excels at none of these, and the G6 is priced at about 30k. Its lack of refinement, weight-gaining/space-stealing hardtop, and outdated engines continue to make this car a has been.

Amazing that it took GM this long to understand what tight proportioning, balanced design, and athletic really really mean. That's why all of thier cars look like they're stuck in the '80's.
