Is it just me or does it looka bit tall and narrow inj the photos? It must be the angle. I want to see more photos of it.

I for one never had a problem with the XF. It is a good looking car, and far more so than the Germans. I do hope the next XJ has the agressiveness of teh C-XF though, because while teh XF is very good, it lost that aggressive edge from concept to production.

I would tweak the rear but besides that it's awesome. It's very futuristic looking and aggressive. I like that it's a fresh take on a design that hasn't changed much in over a decade.

The shifter I like the XF, but I had forgotten just how much better looking the C-XF is.

At first I thought it was a Prius in cladding, but on closer inspection it looks longer and wider. It reminds me of the Clarity. The overall shape is more pleasing than the Prius.

Even though we have the "view new posts" option in the menu, I've found it over the years to be unreliable sometimes, as it can and will randomly clear out the most recent posts, so nothing shows up (like just now). What about if in addition to "view new posts" the site incorporated RSS, which is far more reliable? Just a thought.

Thinking about it, I agree with the idea of keeping the Cobalt and selling it along side the Cruze, as a cheaper alternative, although the more upmarket compact idea is what the Astra was supposed to be, however the lack of a sedan is a serious omission. It reminds me of the idea thrown around for Ford to sell both Focus models along side each other. However the Cobalt needs an MCE with a new interior and updated exterior to keep it competitive. An optional 6-speed automatic would be good too, and the Cruze would have it standard.

Another question: why product place the Beat in Transformers II, get it lots of exposure, and then not plan to offer it in the US, where the movie will see the most viewers?

Some...um...WTF? If this is correct, the Cobalt, which is already near the bottom of the compact class, and already due for a redesign, is going to hang around even longer? It's only selling because it's relatively good on gas, but when other makers come out with even more efficient, better looking cars (Kia Forte) where will that leave it? As for the Beat...when they started designing this thing no one thought, "Hmm, gas prices are going up, maybe we should design this for the US market too). And anyway, how could it be any less safe than the Aveo? Sell the damn thing anyway. If people are willing to pay thousands for Geo Metro deathtraps, I'm sure they would pay for this even if it couldn't survive a Mack truck head on collision at 120mph while having a 747 land on it simultaneously. Sometimes I think GM is really trying to run itself into the ground, and this is one of those times.

Reading that about the `77 does make me kinda sad. I don't want to get into this touchy issue, but sometimes it's better to pay extra and have a job done right the first time (water pump). Also, 68, did you ever considering getting a true beater for delivery? I tell ya, those little FWD econboxes you love to hate make great delivery cars...I should know. Plus you could beat the living $h! out of it and no one would care, or if they did they'd praise you for it. Anyway, I do wonder whatever happened to our Dodge Aspen. When I was little I loved that car, and when we sold it off it was a very sad day for me. That thing had some pretty good rot that had been patched up over the years. I haven't heard about it in many years, but when I did last hear about it the car was still being driven...dunno about now. We had a Satellite Sebring we sent to heaven because of severe rot. I never got to see that car on the road...I only remember it as the white car in the corner of the driveway with a yellow driver's door, a bee's nest and lots of rust. We had a big, ugly black Ram Van that my dad spent months rebuilding the engine only to have it sit until we junked it years later. Several years back we traded our Plymouth Reliant sedan for the `87 Shadow 2.2 Turbo. A few years later we sent the Aries wagon to heaven, as it was just too rusty. Its engine, which was bulletproof, ended up in the Spirit. We sent our Dodge Spirit off to the junkyard, which always bothered me because it only needed a fuel pump, and was super clean. Some prick called the city because there was a disassembled Shadow in the junkyard and they didn't like looking at it. Some asshole, in this disgusting $h!hole that is Lawrence did that. We were going to junk it anyway, but ended up having to get rid of it, the Spirit, and the RV (which was given away). The Town and Country is for sale for parts, and we're thinking about putting the `86 Caravan for sale with it, sell them together and make one good van out of 2. The `89 Shadow, well I won't tell you what's happened to that. The other cars will be stay with us forever if I can help it.

I'm not refering to the cash flow, I'm refering to how said American company was managed by the company it took over. Specifically, how the Germans would never allow the inferior American company to be anywhere near as good, even though they had the potential to be.

Right there you justa dmitted that the idea of cross shopping the CTS with the Genesis is a stupid idea. The cars you just listed are the cars that will be crossed-shopped, with the Chrysler 300 being the closest logical match to the Genesis.

So who remembers how well the last American company did after being taken over by a foreign (German) company?
