It was during the downturn; around '09. I really should have picked some up- I actively thought about it. $5K would've got one 2500 shares. At -say- $10/share, that would've been a $20K profit. But I put money on Visa instead. I haven't looked into it, but it is very strange Ford hasn't risen with the tide. If GM is at $35, Ford, one would think, could/should be at at least $20.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-AMG Models Endangered in EU
balthazar replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mercedes-Benz
No; of course she's allowed to be passionate. I don't question that, just her World Tour / speaking engagements. Climate scientists (I assume) have gone thru some sort of 4-year program in order to become a professional on the matter. Isn't she still in high school?- 110 replies

You should've bought In when it was $2.xx/share.

It is a bit puzzling how much attention she's getting; I'm not aware what graduate courses she's successfully taken to be any kind of expert.- 110 replies

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
balthazar replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
As even Rivian cautioned tho- a patent does not mean the feature will necessarily see production. -

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
balthazar replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
I don't think it really matters as to the reason. Just about all automakers are dialing up caution; quarter after quarter after quarter have only show incremental growth, so it's logical from a business case. - - - - - Meanwhile, here's a spy shot of an S-class with mid-cycle autonomous 'upgrades' : Looks great- very classy! -

The average off the MSRP of a brand new 2020 BMW 3-series according to Trucar is $3500. Yet I’m not seeing where BMW is ‘pricing their cars stupidly’ or ‘killing their resale’.

What brands sell only at sticker price again?

Blazers by me, difference between MSRP & advertised price :: $3300 $2400 $2400 $2600 $2600 [about 6 more like this] most expensive and the only AWD Premier: $5200 (on a sticker of $52K)
-
The majority of Blazers at my local dealer are $ 34-35. There’s 1 $30K and a few in the mid $40s. Not seeing a major price disparity WRT hyundai.
-
^ newsflash: Blazer starts at $28,800. Neither Mary nor anyone else is forcing anyone to buy a top-trim/fully loaded version of ANY vehicle. Same way hyundai isn’t forcing anyone to pay $40 grand for a $25K sante fe.

Philadelphia warehouse built in 1851. Looks completely terrifying. Demolished circa 1969 for I-95 Expressway routing.

No doubt the sound of a connecting rod blowing thru the oil pain is distinctive, too.

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs
balthazar replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Cadillac
• Of course you would. • Turbos aren't a high dollar advancement. My son's Sonic has a turbo, in fact all 3 Chevys here are turbocharged. Chevy's been building turbocharged vehicles since 1962. • How the hell could they lose money at $90K?? Are they stuffing $50K in the glovebox?- 74 replies

"B-but a Motor Trend article said a senior GM employee said they originally wanted the Corvette to start at $80K, so anything under that has to mean they're losing money."- 74 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Going Back To Names for EVs

NSX is less advanced than the C8; it might only cost $45K to build. MSRP is $157K. Even with the $20K off a '19, they have to be raking it in on the NSX, even at 2018's 170 units sold.- 74 replies
