  1. Super clean- nice! I drove this a few winters plowing for a buddy, short bed 4x4, tho it was a 350. It was a '91, tho I think that's a different year grille. Short WB worked well plowing, had mileage in the 90's in 2014 with a excellent condition red velour bench. Rust ate it apart tho, I believe it's dead now.
  2. You believe redline level determines if a car is a performance car or not? ?
  3. AaaAaaaaaaaaaaaannnd there it is. Took a few minutes more than I thought!
  4. License plates on the deck lid always look like cheap crap to me. Mandatory eyesores.
  5. Taking no sides and just looking at the track record, the volume question is, to date, without question.
  6. I will never own a vehicle not made in the US by a US company.
  7. Ah- that explanation makes sense. Doesn't work any other way- if they charged overnight, they wouldn't even be down 10% by 9:30 in the morning. I just read Tesla was going to limit Supercharging to a max of 80% to hurry people along. Tesla needs to charge everyone to use them, at least something. One time I filled my tank when it was about a 3rd full, because I was heading for an interstate with no rest stops & I have a diesel. Other than that, I fill it to the brim, and run it to 'E' every time. I just last year learned Chevy gives the DuraMax a FIFTEEN GALLON buffer, so when it reads 'E' it's got like 15 gals in it. I've driven 2 days locally on the 'low fuel light' a few times.
  8. Without official specific totals, I can’t imagine how anyone could qualify your truck as ‘really rare’, other than anecdotally. I don’t think you’re going to find tighter numbers, and as far as value goes, I don’t think it’ll be affected one way or another if the number is known. No dis meant, but its an ‘84.
  9. Wherein sales drop from 1579/yr to 15/yr.
  10. Observation : if most EV owner's simply charge at home overnight, Teslas give a minimum of -what- 250 miles range AND the average driver drives only 30 miles per day, what are all the Teslas I see at Superchargers at 10AM or 3PM?? They can't all be interstate travelers; are 250-300 miles range Tesla owners still feeling range anxiety??
  11. These rumored trysts aren't -so far as I've see- suggesting less brands. Yes; what I have said/meant is there are too many brands in the USDM. Mergers don't frequently reduce brands, merely corporations.
  12. GMC apparently didn't record production other than by series. For '84, all I can tell you is that 121,704 full-size pickups were built. That excludes the S-15, but includes the 1500, 2500 & 3500 in both 2WD & 4WD.
  13. I found this digging thru some old boxes. I used to be a 'Cadillac man' (and I still love some of the '50s era classics) but once I was able to start buying/working on cars of my own, they were too expensive for my budget, so I went with my other iron soulmate : Pontiac. This is my crudely whittled version of a tubbed '77-79 Cadillac. I probably made this in my mid-teens.
  14. No anti-trust/monopoly concerns?
  15. How did the 25% import tariff suddenly jump to 100%?? ah- you were joking generally with specific numbers...
  16. ^ does Nissan own the batteries in private vehicles, or is it more an issue that they’re just not removable/ replaceable outside dealer service departments?
  17. The fact that China can mandate a 50% partnership in a foreign company as a condition of selling in their own market is head-spinning. Likewise, so is the fact that other countries are just supposed to sit there and allow it to happen with no commerce-based retaliation. IMO, much like most of internal US commerce, there should be -not a tariff on imports-, but a licensing fee for foreign-based corporations. No; Honda of American is not a domestic company; charge them a license fee. Make it fat. I have to pay a license fee yearly to do business, yet zero testing or certification is done in accordance with that license. It's a money-grab, quite simply. Is that not 'China's Trade war'? They want to maintain their imbalance, because it means money. There was zero mandate they increase import tariffs- they're seeing a monstrous surplus. - - - - -
  18. Whoa- that kind of pricing for imported Chinese market cars has been going on a LOT longer than just the last 2 years. Huge tariffs, forced partnerships- that's China's doing, not Trump's. China has been waging a trade war for decades.
  19. What was the prior 'Camaro sedan' - the G8? Just want to see what you were thinking of.
  20. Edmund's has the 2019 rated at 6.5 out of 10. Top Gear has it rated at 6 out of 10. LOTS of room to improve, it seems.
  21. I'll bet you are.
  22. HA! - found this, pretty interesting : https://jalopnik.com/mercedes-benz-forced-to-stop-saying-the-sprinter-van-wa-1833923936
  23. That's a market overview prediction. In response to my post RE Tesla, Musk has hinted at a boom month : https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/tesla-sales-set-for-record-breaking-quarter-ceo-elon-musk-reportedly-says/ We'll see what actually happens- his word is worth a teaspoon of coffee grounds.
  24. So what do South Carolina built mercedes get coded as?
