  1. gotta love that specious reasoning. im a salesman and im selling what you need because i have it. didnt you throw a can of motor oil on my carpet and try to clean it?
  2. thats the beauty of the internet. any jackass with an opinion can have it published and broadcast within seconds for the world to see. regardless of fact or reference beyond google and people will believe it. thats also the beauty of people like jim follinger and jim jones. or heavens gate and david koresh in waco. or was it wacko? how do you think they came up with expression dont drink the kool aid . you dont know sh*t so stop pretending you do, and if you go out for that frosty one ya better watch out. this is like the 21st century version of hanging out with thr guy with long hair and those radicsl ideas. i think he drove the blue car. time to get the led out.
  3. sneaky canucks.
  4. point--counterpoint... i guess the underlying confusion is a result of the method. why go so public with such a suggestion. either there is no intention to sell and just drive prices and interest, not the money kind, up up and away or.. there is every intention to sell and just wants to let gm have a say in how it gets done. if the deal were to happen as you say and gm then declined there would be other open avenues to accomplish this deal. but why the shadiness? being the pessimist/cynic id have to say someone is up to something. for mo money, for to sell and hit the road never to be heard from again. one last hoorah. maybe the means or method can be debated but the motive seems rather clear.
  5. god i hope not, unless of course you mean that they have four. (im gonna go ahead and guess there are two on the other side, too) maybe there just needs to be a picture of a lexus for all to behold in its wonderment. then again i did see a three wheeler kit car cruising around the other day. someone said hey, you want to race and he did and wound up breaking his car. sorry, but i dont see a connection at all whatsoever to that picture.
  6. there is only supposed to be "one" winner. anything else would be gravy.
  7. a renault camaro would bring chevrolet full circle. id rather wait for the impalimas, maxi-mus, and trail finders.
  8. ok, i understand what youre saying, and i appreciate it but i didnt "make it sound like" anything but what i said it was merely a friendly comment. i liked the writing and the choice of words. i found it to have a nice rythm and flow. i just happen to think most people use way too many commas. yes they are necessary, but i noticed a few sentences that did not need to have them. i admit i only took a few English classes and its not my area of expertise. i do however have some experience in proof reading and "test" reading. a buddy of mine is a writer and an English major. im pretty well read, and i defiantely do like what ive read so far. believe me when i say you need to have a thick skin when you are in a business or profession that is constantly critiqued. and just in general for that matter. 76- keep it up. id like to see more, preferably an opening too if that wasnt it. if it was, more power to you.
  9. nice, definately digging it. the only thing id suggest is to not use the "commas" so liberally. thats something i always take issue with when it comes up. there several lines where i thought you didnt necessarily need them. other than that, i thought it was fairly solid. i even got lost for a moment or two in there. very nice.
  10. kerk is older than dirt. he wants to sell and get some cash. why is anybodies guess. how is what we are speculating. an exchange of technologies and ideas is of course good for everyone. you, me, gm renault, etc. its how they would be delegated thats the crux of this whole development. basically thats what makes for competetion. who has what the other one wants or needs. yes it would make toyota s*it their pants and knock them down a peg. maybe that was the point. maybe the "buzz" is good enough to do just that. does gm really need this? not likely. do they need gm? probably the same. rook takes pawn.
  11. another update from bloomberg. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=con...id=aha7OiNqqaxQ initially i thought this to be a somewhat decent idea the more i read into it however im not so thrilled. one part of this article mentions something from the letter about "synergies and cost savings that can thereby ...blah blah, blah they are in a tight spot though, if he dumps them on the open market stock could drop pretty significantly...does he have them by the n*ts? or will the board tell him to go take a hike?
  12. theres no horn to toot about the SS cars now. sure the monte is ok, if you like fwd but its nothing like even the 80's ss. i understand its basically appearance packages, or a trim level but theres no real excitement. the z's are for that, and i dont ever remember any emphasis on that, minus the 06 and 71. of recent the beretta's, cavs, and camaros all had there places in the spectrum but were still kindve boring, minus the ...camaro of course. when/if the camaro gets here they can honk their horns all day and it will mean something again other than a gimmick to sell a few extra cars a year.
  13. and you know who's idea that was. wondering now if well have to wait past the holiday weekend. ahh, the poetic irony.
  14. true, true but with my luck theyd have been diplomats or secret service or some s and id be taken in for questioning. even with bands, plenty of times ive seen camera confiscated. usually at shows but still. sometimes they only take the film. i saw the v8 vantage a while bck on lafayette and astor by the cube near st. marks pl. it was roped off with all the lights like if it was a magazine or promo type shoot. i dont even think most people knew what it was, just kept on walking. i got about 10 feet and people started coming out of the woodwork. those were seriously nice shots though, better than the ones gm pays for.
  15. very interesting. gm is calling an emergency board meeting. all links on this from reuters. http://today.reuters.com/business/newsarti...-IndustryNews-3 http://today.reuters.com/business/newsarti...-IndustryNews-4 http://today.reuters.com/news/ArticleBusin...AUTOS-GM-DC.XML http://today.reuters.com/business/newsarti...-IndustryNews-5 funny how one guy gives away 30 billion and the next day...this
  16. nice pics quick draw. i like the one with that swashbucklin buccaneer strolling past the car. your lucky they didnt take your phone and smash it.
  17. im detecting a little sass here, dollinger has said a lot of things and i wouldnt canonize him or a declare him a prophet. everyone benefits from a deal like this.
  18. i think they miss the camaro. there was a whole chain and a link has been missing. the corvette sits at the top, then the camaro which was almost like the vette then whatever come after that was almost like the camaro, performance wise... you cant jump from a cobalt to a vette--like they tried when those commercials first appeared. decent commercials but instead of an actual blood relative it was more like an adopted big brother. i think the marketing will take care of itself if/when this new camaro joins te food chain over at chevy. and perhaps even another rwd. cobalt sc/tc--car x(monte sc for now)--camaro--corvette--c6r just to rub it in. a complete lineup marketable to every interested performance/style
  19. if i recall correctly in math the product of two negative integers can be a positive number. this is more about a game of chess, though. must be lots and lots of paperwork to figure this one out.
  20. yeah, if you have a sense of humor. gladys the groovy mule got a laugh.
  21. its still kinda funny in that train wreck sort of way. doesnt everyone want to know the real truth?
  22. why even waste your time? you couldve just sent them the link to this site.
  23. its just that the sound of childrens laughter cuts through me like a dentists drill
  24. yea thats a pisser.
  25. dont forget timber. i think the difference between canada and mexic is along the lines of mexico was long established before we got here. roughly the same time, the french and english and not to make it a history lesson for the most part were all here together as north Americans. and molson too. the oldest brewery in na. thats the real reason canada not going anywhere. you can keep the oil.
