  1. quoting the numbers you did just demonstrates the ignorance that toyota/nissan/ and even honda hope to capitalize on. bunch if f@#king amateurs. children, just wandering around aimlessly. theres a reason gm trucks monthy sales look like toyotas or nissans, and or hondas yearly truck sales. yup. also another reason why gm has 50% sharte of all trucks and 4x4's... + or - a few. siegen you use too many words without saying anything. saying a toyota truck is better than a chevy is like telling me the malibu is better than the camry. the silverado is the camry, accord, and corrola all rolled into one super vehicle. please dont f@#k with that, youd be in over your head.
  2. and what exactly is your point? maybe you could dumb it down a shade for us, or at least me.
  3. thats a great point and i couldnt agree more. about both things. 3,200 lbs is quite a bit more if those numbers are correct. American trucks are proven through time and experience. tough as nails and willing and able for more. toyota can recreate or assemble a pile of parts to create product, but that wont give it character or personality. and it certainly wont give it the more intangible or even undefinable and elusive quality known as soul. and thats something that almost all if not every toyota/lexus product lacks. so, you like toyota thats good, good for you. dont try telling anyone there better when clearly that remains to be seen. toyoguy, i hope your next $h! is square. dont f@#k with American trucks, toyota or nissan isnt quite there yet and dont kid yourself into thinking they are...no ones buying it. check for yourself.
  4. two words- tough tits. just the way it is now. maybe one day security will mirror total recall. giant x-ray machines and such...
  5. the perfect sleeper with the right tweeks.
  6. i thought the line suggesting the challenger wasnt the same but rather how you remember it was apt...granted it was a little before my time when it was introduced, i still think its accurate. if it can walk the walk and still take care of business i really wouldnt mind seeing it on the road. if only to break up the monotony.
  7. ahh still up to their old tricks....thank god for foreign intelligence. if this plot was hatching over here theyd be tied up in litigation for months with 50,000 people bitching about the methods used to aquire this intel. and people still refuse to accept these cocksuckers have been at us for years. WTC 93, cole, embassy bombings...countless thwarted plots and now another. this is $h! always hits close to home, literally, and its a goddamn shame these f@#kers havent met the fate they wish for. i hate to say it but they dont care whqt happens, lets kill them all and let Allah sort them out mentality is not the majority vote...even among moslem and arabs. MAD doesnt exist here. like oc said, but if the west did what they want to do to us wed then really be the bad guys. hows that for a double standard...because itd be relatively easy. caught between a rock and a hard place...no jokes please, i really do believe thats why were over there in the first place. sorry to go on, but being here for 2001 with the sights sounds and smells of terrorist handywork and the resulting travesty i cant thank the brits and scotland yard enough. no one can, and it wont stop either. this is all compunded by the 9/11 conspiracy bull$h! that keeps circulating...i dont want to even get started on that. the threats are real, these cowardly dickless sons of btched dont care and wont stop until they cant function any more. by the by, i really dont think they have nukes at this time. its a lot more complicated than just being able to get one. its not like theres an off and an onn switch. so even if they do have them, theyd more like than not be $h! out of luck on knowing how to use it...thats why we pay close attention to iran and nk. enough....glad i got that off my chest.
  8. it doesnt look like much but when you see them side by side the differences are there. the mt from last month? had a whole thingy about it. vanishing point and what not. within the article they said not everything would be doable for production. i thought i still had it here but i guess its on its way to becoming a new edition.
  9. the detroit news is like the jewish mother when it comes to the domestics. nothing will ever be good enough... " look at toyota. see what theyve done.. would it kill you to make a car that sold 400k a year without incentives?" "this is plastic? i sit in a camry and it feels like velvet." and by the way...that line has been completely wiped. it was replaced with "the japanese continue to make inroads" line.... see my above "post" if you dont know what im referring to or if you care. f@#k that. i still think they do a semi decent job of reporting though. minus a few. i just widh i knew where their intentions lie. or lay. i never get those right.
  10. is this really still undecided?
  11. gm doesnt pay motortrends bills. its that simple. dont be so naive to think that none of these mags are on the take. they all are but it shows up in differently. dont lose your head over it. i dont think that mt would deny props where props are due or outrightly say a certain car is junk... but there are other more creative ways to get around it. if it was up to them everything would be a v12 ferrari they were testing. they cater to an audience, and for the most part someone who buys a camry or an impala, or a g6 doesnt really care what they have to say. its just good reading. dont forget the 2 for one piece they did about the gto and benz, too. they also compared a g6 convert and a mustang convert. in that context both seemed like great cars. the stang won, but for obvious reasons...(power..just in case youre half asleep....) all with a grain of salt. cant flip out over every single little fart that passes through.
  12. ...because they know people will buy them. its like car crack and toyotas the pusher. and they know it. if people are stupid enough to want it and only it, what the hell jack up the price. theyll still buy it. i just think it odd that the camry and corolla sold nearly identical numbers. is that fleet or fudge? or just sheer coincidence? itd really only affect honda anyway for bragging rights.
  13. i thought this article was mostly straight up reporting. the detnews is especially tough on the domestics and not afraid to hammer them or tip toe around the truth. sadly this is the truth. if you look at baseball for instance in pittsburgh or kc io dont think the papers are saying, well, they tried really hard but lost again. lets hear it for almost. that only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. maybe people will wake up and realize whats going on... and or especially... funny enough the quote i remember reading earlier is not here. im fairly certain i read it here. now its gone. do they edit these things or did i read it somewhere else. it went along the lines "...the japanese car makers also benefit from a perception of better fuel economy..." i know i read that somewhere and just as im saying maybe they arent so bad. basically theres still hope for gm at least. im gonna look for that line, if i come across it ill add it.

    ....

were those bags white to begin with? damn dirty diesels.
  15. yeah. f@#k alaska and hawaii. ehh, i think it says 46 but im not sure. good advertisements nonetheless. just kidding about alaska and hawaii. if i want sugar and pioneapple or. or. or ice ill know where to go. maybe oil one day. damn seals and polar bears. and f@#king penguins. still, good billboards.
  16. for what its worth i still think it looks better than a cobalt. and i still think theyll sell. just you wait and see.
  17. maybe your standards are too high.?
  18. ive heard you make some pretty dickeheaded comments about a lot of different things, and some of them if not all retain a ring of truth to them, but how can you see this as a bad thing? if toyota likes to boast and say we should accept them because how good they are-- mainly because they are so gracious and benevolent as to build plants and create jobs-- thus improving the American way of life...why should we just sit back and say wow...you must be so wonderful?.... why doesnt a domestic do that, too? theres no way around the FACT that gm employs more US workers and is therefore having a greater impact on the economy than toyota ever will. period. thats what this is about. the point is gm could shut down 3x as many plants and still have more. even if they all arent up to full capacity who gives a $h!? unless of course everyone decides that toyota really is that much better we should hand over the reins to them. most of these billboards, from what i gather are aimed at the communities that have toyata plants already. sort of a local thing that they hope will spread. yeah, its great to support your community and the people from lex will testify that camries (is that the plural?) are a dime a dozen. most probably because they know people who are working the lines or have friends in the plants. ill see your 10 and raise you. 44. dont forget the forest for the trees. no matter how you slice and dice it gm is a major part of this country's economy.
  19. cheeseborger, cheeseborger, cheeseborger.
  20. theres no quick fix money back 30 day limited warranty answers to solve these problems. the entire production method and the cost structure needed to be addressed.... and it finally it is. and the market is receptive to that. gm stock has been steadily increasing. but not only that there seems to be a real effort to compete again. not just slap a badge or a cool name on a half way decent product. a real drive to reclaim its rightful place in the automodum heirarchy. actions speak louder than words and the results will speak for themselves. its too bad people look down their noses sometimes. one phrase comes to mind lately while looking over these numbers. dont wake the sleeping giant. gm still got plenty of huff and puff left. and it aint all smoke thats blowing out.
  21. i think you're all missing the point. toyota did apologize. $h! the whole damn country said im sorry. isnt that good enough for you. cant we just forget it and move on now. things will get back to normal soon enough. (as soon as the investigation is over and we find better ways to avoid these "recalls"... which will soon be termed product improvements.) its not problem if no one says it is. :AH-HA_wink: no more under the carpet bull$h! when your dealing with the numbers theyre dealing with. it wont just go away. the heir of invincibility is diminishing and so too goes the reputation.
  22. thank you. how many 1 1/5 minute commecials are there with the station logo tatooed in the corner of the screen no less. ya'll gotta lighten up a little bit. i wouldve guessed kimmel or whatever just based on the abc logo. i didnt think it was regis or whatever the hell else is on abc. nonetheless i thought it was pretty funny. and besides any publicity is good publicity, so they say.
  23. they will build them here. i think its a matter of hammering out the details in australia.
