  1. the answer is no... its only avalible on autos
  2. but they do! lets go a different example... you are standing on top of a log in a rapid river... and you are running on top of the log, lets say the rivers current is 10 mph <-----, and you are jumping and running on that log, and its spinning, your running 20 mph ----> the logs speed is irrelivent, because its spinning freely... but its not 20 mph, and its not 10 mph... i know that so the faster the tredmill goes, the faster the wheels go... and as long as the plane is making progress down the tredmil (which it will as long as the tredmil is going slow) the wheels speed will continually be doubling, or going up expedentially... regaurdless of the planes speed... ummm... he didnt design the plane i'm assuming...
  3. well E=MC^2 is completely irrelevent but if the speed of the conveyor belt is based on the plane's speed... you have the plane is going 40 mph ---> and the conveyorbelt is going 40mph <---- the wheels are going 80 mph, and the plane is still going 40 mph ----> if the speed of the conveyor belt is based on the wheels speed the plane is going 40 mph ---> the wheels are spinning at a rate of... lets just say infinity because, if what is above is true, the plane is going 40 mph ----> the wheels are going double in speed consistantly until that plane goes back down to 0 mph while the wheels continue to move.... A.) the plane gets up to 150 mph hour or B.) the friction of the wheels going infinity rotations per minute slows the plane down enough such that it cannot attain 150 mph marker...
  4. well if the tredmill is based on the wheel speed, then it wont take off... if the tredmill is based on the plane speed, it will take off...
  5. but we were talking about a magical tredmill from hell... friction is not a mimumal force when we change the runway...
  6. but the escalator doesnt match your speed... if it did, you'd never get anywhere... an escalator that matches your speed would be called a stair stepper, and as fast as you go, you wont go anywhere... they have that design already
  7. the speed of the plane? ohh, then it can take off... no problem but if it matches the speed of the wheels we have a large problem...
  8. well the conveyor belt at the grocery store isnt a magical one that matches speed... the wheels are more then just along for the ride... there is a tremendous amount of friction that will occur once those wheels get spinning... after you provide enitial force to the roller skate, the conveyorbelt instantly provides friction to the wheels... and after you get the magical conveyorbelt up to 100+ mph, those tiny wheels on the roller scate wont beable to spin any faster, and its just like trying to slide a rubber shoe, allong a rubber conveyor belt... there is too much friction to acheive an increase in speed...
  9. the answer to that is no...
  10. it has the option, standard radio i dont think is...
  11. although that is in a perfect world where the wheels are moving free... but there is a tremendous amount of friction that will add up on those wheels as they spin... enough so that, it might, limit the thrust from propelling the plane... now it would be impossible to tell imho without knowing the bearings on the wheels... but friction doubles as a brake regaurdless of the engines thrust... if the plane can not attain enough volocity to support the wieght of the plane under the wings, the plane will never be able to take off...
  12. no thats not exactly correct... the wheels will see a much higher speed then 300mph.... the wheels speed will go up expedentially while the plane trys to start getting forward inirtia this is why i suggest, that while the turbine engines might hit max rpm after the wheels hit there maximum rotational speed
  13. yea, in some pictures i thought that car looked really lame...but in the movie, that car looked like a 2million dollar car was arguably one of his best movies... lots of sponsorship from cadillac... and it was well thought out, the neighbor's bragging kid, kept rubbing it in adam sandlers face, that he was driving a crappy impala, and they were driving a really nice cadillacs, had an SRX and an STS i believe parked in the drive way... then later adam gets the sixteen and thats like the sweetest car ever!
  14. thank you... according to the Insurance instatue for highway safty, the cobalt got a "good" rating in its crash test ratings while the corolla got "poor" and the civic wasnt even tested... the base civic is 1500$ more then the base cobalt, and it doesnt even include a radio or a/c if i remember correctly... people say it has better resale value... but its residual value percent isnt much different, its just a more expensive vehicle to start...
  15. okay spin the hell out of the wheels... but what is the maximum speed those wheels will turn? every wheel has a maximum volocity under a certain force, there comes a point when there is too much road friction, to much friction on the ball bearings such that the wheels are incapable of increasing speed... if the treadmill can match that speed, i find it difficult that the plane will ever take off... anyone who has ever ridden a skate board knows what i mean... the wheels although you can purchase higher quality bearings and wheels... they have an eventaul top speed...
  16. wow this turned into a fun trivia question... lol, i ought to check my source before posting a trivia question
  17. why does everyone discount gm on their pushrods? the technology is proven to be reliable, GM's v6's get more fuel ecconomy then some of the DOHC competition... and they are plenty powerful, so whats the problem? i remember racing a 3.5 altima in a 3.4L 2005 impala a few months ago while i was on the job, and there wasnt a comparason... the impala was the faster car... one of my coworkers has an accura TL with the v6 he says it has 260 hp or something like that, but its only that much power at like 7000 rpms... he doesnt like that vtec technology, it doesnt have the power were you want it....
  18. ohh i just noticed thats a manual transmission
  19. i'm quite sure, GM has more vehicles equipted with DVD's then any other manufactures... dont quote me on that, but i'm pretty positive...the thing that gets me... is Chevrolet is GM's entry level brand... but Chevrolet is the brand that sells more vehicles over 35k than every other brand out there... so how entry level is 35k? the brands are missaligned...
  20. well they have started to realize people buy vehicles because of the vehicle, not the price... if that were the case, why would anyone buy a corvette when they could get a 2dr cavalier/cobalt? they should have understood that all through the years... because they sold the most iconic car ever... but its been for too long about the deal... even at the dealership, i shudder when i hear a customer say, "well i have to go to work" or pick up his kids or whatever... my boss, "what if i could reduce the payments another 20$? what if i could" i'm like why drop your pants...? sales is too much concerned with the near term rather then the long term benifits...
  21. thats the point... 0% for 72... they dont want the vehicle that long... so they will trade it in...
  22. agreed... i wish sales were consistant...
  23. i guess you ought to contact the better business buro? but i dont know man... i just cant get over why someone at any store, for any reason would tell you to go away... its just bad for business.. whatever the reason, i've only seen it once happen, where the owner of a business told someone to leave, and it was because the customer was a proven trouble maker... but here, it sounds like you were minding your own business, about to buy a car from that dealership... and he tells you to go somewhere else...
  24. i would agree, people do buy vehicles on holidays, not because of the manufactures but because dealers will advertise 5 times as much on holiday weekends... soo... in the end, people have been trained over the last 30-50 years to purchase on holiday weekends
  25. lol, if chevy came out with that much pride and walked over the competition on the TV... who knows kind of traffic that might bring to the dealerships..
