  1. WAHH! i think the toyota retirees total just doubled today man... look out toyota, that legacy cost gets expensive...
  2. anyone know the reason for his leave?
  3. when your in a possition like his you get free cars... demos or paid for by the owner of the dealer...
  4. i believe once the 4.8 is out.. its standard on the LS package...
  5. havent heard anything about Z71 packages...
  6. but thats only if the vehicle is kept for 6 years... suggesting that the user kept the vehicle for 2-3 years, the consumers saving would not nearly be as good as the rebate... so in that scenario... GM gives less incentive on the vehicle... also not everyone qualifys for 0%, only a select few do... so you are also putting prerequisites on their incentives, to attract a certain clientel... this is the clientel that is generally higher educated and more responsible with their money. and to even stretch it more, people with credit scores over 700 are probably less likely to purchase domestic vehicles...
  7. its better then a ford ranger... isnt the ford ranger something like 15+ years old?
  8. hope they make a platform that will support both fwd and rwd...give chevy cobalt and hhr as fwd and give pontiac G5/G5 hatchback as a rwd platform... would be an awesome idea... and if they thought it through in the begining it could make a great marketing stratagy... because the rwd can demand a price of 3-4k more just because (IMHO)
  9. you have no idea, how much profit people think we have to work with... but one thing that i've found as kind of interesting, is that with the new pricing stratagy, it makes a great scapegoat, even tho its true, the new pricing stratagy has adjusted all MSRP downward while the invoice prices have either stayed the same or increased... giving us less profit... and yea, the people buying these vehicles, generally can afford more, but incentives help them to get out of their current vehicle that they may be upside down on...
  10. no what was bad is over the term of 6 months customers became accustom to seeing vehicles 8-10k off... so when a customer walks into a dealership and demands a tahoe for mid 20k$... nothing happens... a customer walks away pissed off and buys a toyota... when a customer sees 10k off... they are willing to wait till they see it again... the problem is, the waiting game...
  11. somehow i cant see how this site is on there and cz28 isnt... that is far much larger community of GM enthusiasts... but there are quite unfactual information on that website... example, the cadillac 16 was powered by basically 2 northstars... when if i remember correctly it was 2 ls1's
  12. the AFM sees generally 12-15% increase in fuel ecconomy... and what that means on a 15-21 mpg vehicle... is just that, 1 or 2 mpg, if you drive conservatively... the tahoes can get much better then 22 mpg... you just have to drive them that way...
  13. i've heard near the end of july GM is going to announce 0% on everything except GMT900 & corvete... (at least for chevy)
  14. 0 for 72 would do wonders, without damaging actual sale price... GM had record revenue 1rst quarter because of GMT900 and new marketing stratagy... the average owner doesnt keep their vehicles for more then 2-3 years anyway so GM doesnt really lose that much money by offering 0%... its better then 4k$+ rebates
  15. i beleive this is in the mix... the 2.0 l Ecotec GXP Sosltice is turbocharged and direct injected...

the granite blue metalic isnt not the same shade as the stealth grey metalic... its a lighter blue, the stealth grey is darker...
  17. i believe this is correct... according to where i got the stupid question...
  18. Trivia question: Who was first to market a compact pickup in the U. S.?
  19. hrmmm didnt even read the article... but if hes accusing the camaro of being bland styling... he must be looking at the 3rd or 4th gen... the GTO didnt fail... the GTO did wonders for production levels in austrailia... its a 33k $ fully loaded vehicle... how many SS camaros were sold in 2002, i bet it was similar to the sales figures of the GTO... and people are assuming hwy mileage in the 30's for the v8 camaro... with over 400 hp... the camaro has the most intensive styling i've ever seen on a car intended for production, the curves are very futuristic with a hint of the past, its the best car for the job i think...
  20. yea and if you draft off of a big rig you could also see a 10-15% gain in fuel ecconomy as well
  21. ... yea... i was intrigued about the 85% of all the governements revenue came from imported goods... thats intresting... they ought to go back to that...
  22. i'm sorry your experiance was that of a negative one...
  23. from what i understand the suburban 2500 will receive a 6.0 V8 that will not have AFM... the 6.2 does not currently have AFM either...i'm unaware of any future plans, but i will certainly ask...
  24. i havent driven the 6speed but the 5.3 w/ the 4speed is a fun vehicle to drive! i know my alyson 5 speed is an awesome tranny, and i'm quite certain the new 6E80 shares a lot in common with those alysons... but i'd say just go for the suburban with the 4speed... its my understanding that by around 2008 all the GMT900 should offer the 6 speed... i know GM wants like 90% of their vehilces to be 6 speeds by 2010...
  25. because it has a name change... it was called DOD... but when the tahoe was released they realize there was a little misconception, so they decided to change the name to AFM... so no longer will you see DOD in future documentation... anything printed prior, sure will still refer to it as DOD...
