1. <rant> i dont know cadillac dealerships, nor do i know how the DTS is priced... and no offense to you, but i really really dislike customers who consistantly feel like they are getting ripped off... i mean honnestly, if you are at supplier discount, and you are still unhappy... <Edited for profanity> its nerve recking when a customer wants to purchase a 2007 Tahoe for 24k, with tax and liscensing, and even if they were to get the deal they wouldnt be satisfied... for some reason consumers feel that dealerships are making massive amounts of money on every car... i hate to break it to you, but on a supplier discount, the car is sold 100$ over invoice... and the salesman is really trying to earn your business so that when he gets paid he can get a 5 dollars!... and your still pissed off at him!? <edited more profanity> ... so pissed off you dont even want to shop GM any more... OMFG! 540$ take it or leave it pal.... </rant>
2. Do you know if they are offering the 0 for 72 with GMS? NO... you cannot receive GMS and 0%...
3. woo! let me get this straight... After the supplier discount the vehicles price was 47,200 plus tax & liscensing... almost 52,000 at least here in cali and you wanted to put 10,000 down and your trade in that was paid off was worth 7,000 so a total of 17,000 down 34,920 / 60 months @ 0% = $582 the first figure 699... all dealerships do that, it includes all warrantys low jack, alarms, blablabla... ... 540 x 60 months plus 17000 = 49,400... that includes taxes... sounds like you got a hell of a deal! not quite sure how much taxes are over there... but here, tax and liscenisning is around 10-11%
4. and i bet this guy doesnt know saab or saturn is part of gm...
5. yes... if you drive the suburban in comparason to the new tahoe... you can notice a big difference, or the avalanche is the best... but they feel soo much better then the previous years... donno about that handle... if i were you, i'd go ask another dealership for a second opinion... because sometimes they are telling the truth, and sometimes they just dont want to help warranty stuff...
6. the sale cleared a huge amount of 06 silverados... at least for our dealership which iss good for GM...
7. hence my response...
8. way to be on top of the news... you should look for a job in the media... maybe cnn?
9. so hes desperate?
10. i hope not... i think there are enough people will see carlos as the wrong person to goto with GM's situaltion
11. I am going strictly from memory of the events leading up to and just after the DCX venture. There was a good book written about the Chrysler-MB merger written in 2000. I am not double checking my dates. “now i'm thinking that history repeats itself... now... when Kirk was dealing with Chrysler... he did what...” KK bought about 10-15% of Chrysler Corp in the early 1990s. At the time Chrysler was trading at about $7 a share. Chrysler Corp around 1993 just after Eaton was full CEO and Chairman was sitting on 10 billion in cash. KK wanted that money. After the KK/Iaccoca coupe attempt and York placed on the BOD, Chrysler increased their stock dividend to appease KK. “he tried to purchase the company outright... or did he?” IIRC KK and Iaccoca wanted to structure the takeover where they used Chrysler 10 billion cash hoard as payment for the company. The takeover failed. “and somehow it ended up merging with dymler-benz... now did he benifit from that merger?” Just after the merger DCX was trading at over 100 a share. KK sold a big portion of his stake at that time. When MB bought out Chrysler, MB paid a premium for the share. I believe C was trading at 28 a share and MB bought them out at a 20% premium. So I think the sale price was in the low 30s. KKs position doubled in value right after the merger. "does kirk own any portion of Nissan or Renault?" Not that I am aware of. “and what roll did Lutz play in the transaction before?” Lutz was quiet during the whole thing from what was reported. If what I read was true, he named the company DaimlerChrysler. “because the Merger with Chrysler led Lutz into a 10 million dollar lump sum if i remember correctly...” Eaton I think walked away with 30 million or there abouts. All the execs did. There were all sorts of caveats though. But remember, Chrysler at the time had a relatively strong stock price and a lot of the execs at the time were sitting on 7 dollar stock. are there any other questions that should be thought about when considering Kirks intentions? and how can a lot of this relate to todays debackle with GM...? i'm sure Kirk has learned a thing or two in the last 10 years to make sure his investment grows more so then it did before...
12. lol that reminds me of a poster i saw once...i cant seem to find a picture to show you.. but it had a 7 car garage with the days of the weeks written above each car... lol and 6 of the cars were really nice sports cars from the corvette to a ferrari... but one of them was a really crappy car i forget what it was... but at the bottom of the poster it says "I hate tuesdays" cause that was the $h!ty car... i think it was like a pinto or something...
13. possibly the general manager or owners have... but its never shared with us... usually what happens is, the day after the incentive is over, about noon GM will fax over the new list of incentives... so we really dont know unless somehow wallstreet journal or something gets a hold of some gossip
14. now i'm thinking that history repeats itself... now... when Kirk was dealing with Chrysler... he did what... he tried to purchase the company outright... or did he? and somehow it ended up merging with dymler-benz... now did he benifit from that merger? does kirk own any portion of Nissan or Renault? so... will this Nissan Renault deal, fall apart, and somehow another deal just magically appears that seems 10x better then with carlos goshen? perhaps we need to pay closer attention to what happened with chrysler... and what roll did Lutz play in the transaction before? because the Merger with Chrysler led Lutz into a 10 million dollar lump sum if i remember correctly... what exactly is going on... that the media isnt playing up?
15. yea... but customers understand intrest rates... intrest rates have been scaring customers away for months... no one wants to buy a 30k dollar car with a 7-8% loan... even if they have perfect credit thats what they get... they understand that it has to do with the ecconomy... but previously when GM was offering 0%... it was better to take the rebate, and go with a 1.9-2.9 from a credit union... but now days... best rates i see are +6% our inventory seriously dwindled over the weekend... and i assume the rebates will be falling some more this next quarter... so that people really realize it is an incentive, and that it is going away... with 2007's and 2008's running around the corner GM's turn around is starting to show light... gm's going to be in control of their incentives not the consumer...
16. well i hate to tell you but whens the last time you've been to a dealership... they generally have 5-10 parking spaces... and when the weekend rolls around for us... our parking is full... so instead of telling our customers to go find another dealership... we told them they would be alright in the handicapt parking... does this mean, we shouldnt have handicapt parking spaces?... sounds like it to me...but... i still rest by my case... lawyers are the ones doing the wrong... lawyers are the ones trying to clean up the mess left by someone else... example, my best friends dad, is beating the hell out of enron in an apeals case after he ahnilated them in the first trial... is he a scum bag for trying to get money out of a company that screwed the world?
17. so that means we are up by 140k units in japan? anyone know if we are up in europe or south america?
18. thats when the sale ends...everything expires 07/05
19. we finnished the 5 day weekend with 130 cars... not bad... wish every day was as busy as those days were
20. welll the word on top is... reverse?
21. I surmise if you are one to say, that an individual that has gone to school for over 8 years... has a doctrine in law... and you call them whores, you would think the same of me, a salesman? every lawyer i've ever met has been a fantastic person, hard workers, and extremely educated. Do not confuse the common lawyer to Lionel Hutz... i've got 3 neighbors that live on my street that are lawyers and i have an uncle that is a lawyer... sure lawyers look for the loop holes, but perhaps the person doing the wrong should have not done it... here at work, we just got a suit for not enforcing handicap parking... we settled for 18k... just for taking a few pictures... is it really the lawyers fault? its they guy who decided he can make a living off of his lawyer on the stupid people of this world...?
22. and GM's market share is growing in a diminishing market... because GM is making a vehicle that people want... the market is getting old, and so are the vehicles, but unlike every other sector GM has kept the best vehicles in it... and are now making them the better
23. thats something to look at... wasnt June or July 2005 the best selling month for GM in like 18 years or something?
24. and you didnt tell him to come see me... yea i love those dsls they have some serious power... look to these guys for suggestions http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/index.php http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?act=idx
