  1. bronco ended early 90's... i think 92 or so... you can always goto cars.com and do research
  2. sure the profit was offset in the first quarter by buyouts, delphi deals, health care... but is it really that easy to tell how the companys financial situation is doing after one "break even" quarter in which a lot of money was thrown around? perhaps the GMT900's will be profitable, but not to keep the entire company afloat on the turn around, once the silverados get started i think we'll see some serious profits, and once saturn gets revitalized we should see some major money makers... looks to me as if Saturn gets revitalized for 2007, 2008 seems like a good year for cadillac and chevrolet, buick should get behind the 8 ball by around 2008 or 2009, GMC is always along for the ride, pontiac needs a bit of work, but should be doing well by the time 2008-2009 comes rolling around... once zeta is in full force and GMT900's are in full production, epsilon II is being introduced GM will be massively profitable again... Lutz is desgning these cars to be profitable with a 25% market share... and lanave is changing perceptives slowly but surely... as you see stock markets changing feelings toward GM's product also ought to make a swing... I wonder if Ford's ratings will be increased... i have a feeling GM is going to leave Ford in a pile of rubble...
  3. lol this is going to be disturbing... umm, lets see... several SL55's, Porshe SUV's, about 6 NSX's, SL600, Corvette 1reg and 1 w/ Racecar style paintjob, Viper, 360 Spider, rolls royce phantom, ummm i think a mercialago (its a yellow exohtic i forget which kind), one guy has an old 70's style SL, umm, thats all i think is to fun on my block... and it seems that almost every one owns a suburban and/or lexus in combination... ohh i forgot theres a few 1 with an H1's, lots of H2's, 1 SL65, couple of 645 BMW's some 745's, couple of jags.... thats probably it... lol, sorry the cheapest home in my neighborhood is probably 1.5 mil
  4. i test drove the new Mustang GT manual transmission the other day and i understand why the GT500 is slower with the extra power... the mustang GT rated at 300 hp seemed rediculously slow... the car didnt even have a seat of the pants feel... keep in mind, (brand new mustang GT) i took on a test drive, a put her up to 110 mph, fun little car, just gutless for a musle car... after i got outa first the car seemed to be without a powerband... so i assume the GT500 is the same thing... its just a HP claim without a powerband to back it up...
  5. GM will get slammed next quarter when they show more losses... the only reason gm really profited last quarter was because of the sale of various assets... IZUSU & SUZUKI
  6. well lets assume someone is going to drive a lot... assumable 30k miles a year(worst case scenario)... 30k miles a year(probably mostly highway) now they got uintil december of 2007, thats 19 months worth of 30k a year... lets see... gas right now is 3.30 here in cali... so... 30,000/12*19=47,500 miles now thats at 22 mpg, but if we combine them... we'll get probably 20mpg (since its mostly highway driving)... 47500miles/20mpg = 2375 * 1.31(because the cap is 1.99 and today gas is 3.30... thats 1.31 away) 3111.25 but the consumer must enroll in the onstar for an additional year, so thats like $199 so this consumer will basically be saving 3111.25-199 = $2912 savings... (worst case scenario assuming gas doesnt go higher) now assuming the average consumer with 12k miles per year so we are looking at a total of 19k miles... now lets get probably 18mpg combined... 19000/18 = 1055 * 1.31 = $1382 - 199 = $1183 savings... (standard scenario assuming gas stays at 3.30, if it goes down GM wins, if it goes up customer wins) so if GM is spending anywhere between $1000-3000... it sounds to me like its acceptable rebate... creative incentives... and gets people to use onstar...
  7. He never mentioned the "LS" figure, he said it would have 3 engines, a v6 and 2 v8's and he mentioned that the "7 liter" could also be in the works... haha and after he mentioned a few things i muttered blue devil and he chuckled
  8. but suggesting all the manufactures accually have a plenty of parts... that means no body needs anything... and probably GM has the largest stock pile... probably lasting at least 4-6 weeks... that would essencially idle delphi... whether they strike or not...
  9. Well today i was pleasently supprised when our GM trainer came in and discussed future products for us... First he cleanly said "you didnt hear it from me" but... The camaro will be avalible in 2008 as a 2009 year model. He also mentioned that there would be 3 engine choices those being 1 v6 and 2 v8's and the idea of borrowing the 7L, although it wouldnt be rated to have as much power as the vette, the idea was there to borrow the motor. He also went on to mention stuff about the impala next year getting AFM (this we already knew) he also mentioned that it was sent to austrailia (like we already knew) so that it would stay out of the limelight...
  10. got everything from 0 feet all the way to 112.027ft... adictive
  11. honnestly i can see anything but rubber... to me looks like a motor cycle... but what i can see is that the wheels have 4 lug nuts... but the tires a low profile, so that would suggest a compact car...
  12. Fixed. Also fixed: Cadillac V-16 entry. yea i just checked as well... and if my memory serves me correctly it was 2 LS6's crammed together?
  13. the car was never homologated for the race. the car was too short and had an engine that was much larger then the competition.
  14. ahhh i was looking 65-67 impala, didnt check to see a little older
  15. this hint implys that the same car, held the same design for a number of years... making it difficult to be exact on the year... all i can tell is that its 4 doors, its got a plentiful supply of chrome, one thing that this reminds me of... the amount of chrome around the window sills around the roll up window remind me of my old bosses 67 el camino... but chevys didnt have body chrome like that, it had to be a buick or oldsmobile to have body chrome like that me thinks...
  16. the duramax was originally supposed to be in the suburban and avalanche, i think the tahoe as well... but the duramax production is maxed, GM didnt realize the growing market... so GM decided to allocate the duramax to commercial vehicles only... i'm quite sure GM is making a huge profit on each duramax engine... this i believe to be one reason we will be seeing more deisels here in the states in the years to come, because people have come to realize they arent as loud and dirty as they once were... they are amazingly fuel efficent and compared with the fuel efficency of a gas engine, they seem to have more spunk(due to the excess of the torque)...
  17. well... i was thinking about it after i saw an article saying ford was preparing for a strike... so that means many of their suppliers have stockpiles... and if the scare goes away... and an agreement is made between delphi and the union... will GM slow its orders, causing delphi to idle? how long is GM prepared to let delphi strike? that is obviously the same time period delphi will be basically idled... how much will that cost delphi?
  18. you know i saw a guy that did that to his corolla, and he tried like 15 times to get his door to latch.. and then i hurd, i dont know if its true, but if you put those lambo doors on your car, it gives the car a salvaged title... not sure if thats true... just heard from a friend
  19. i'm not good with old cars... so i'm going to guess a belair
  20. that 4.0L is that the 6cly thats going in the outlook and enclave?
  21. well all you gotta do is switch the letters... ES... SE
  22. the reason for that, is because DOHC's are less efficent then push rod, they have more moving parts and more rotational mass... also they can be designed to be more powerful, again less efficent...
  23. skyline
  24. lol i might have a guy intrested in all of those cars... and hes got money... lol he'll have to ditch the fords... but the rest of em look like fun
  25. well 2 squares seem to defy eachother... so i'm confused... the first square on the second row, has 2 peices of sheetmetal with a circular angle, implying the quarner of a rear door... although there is another square somewhere that appears as the top of a window of a 2dr coupe, similar to the 4th gen roofline
