I'm surprised the Uplander soldiers on. As was mentioned in the GMC truck thread, it's highly disappointing that there isn't more widespread use of the 6-speed automatic on the GMT900 trucks. Sad to see the Colorado ZQ8 go away. I've always liked the looks of it, and I would have gotten one had it come with a better engine.

Instead of calling Buick the "American Lexus", perhaps it should now be the "Chinese Lexus." My initial though on this concept is that using the Riviera name is wholly inappropriate, but I've changed my mind.

The W-bodies were dated when they were introduced in 1987. They were never bad cars, but there has always been something more desirable. They're a relic from the bad old days of GM.

From what they started with, I think it's a commendable effort.

I tend to favor oddball candidates like Dennis Kucinich. Of course he has no chance. Last presidential election I liked Howard Dean. At one time John McCain seemed like a promising candidate, but his right-wing pandering and playing to the GWB base is shameless. So much for the Straight Talk Express. Of the leading candidates, I like Obama despite his limited experience. I'd support Hillary if she got the nomination, but I don't like listening to her talk.

The Las Vegas thing is defunct, so I hope GM is ramping up a nationwide ASIM. That this is sponsored by GM Supplier Discount and GM Family First and not a good sign though. There are so many promising vehicles coming out this fall (Malibu, G8, CTS, Enclave, H3 with V8), plus the recently introduced 900 pickups and Outlook/Acadia, that will be prime time to do ASIM.
