  1. Saturn. Easy on the eyes.
  2. I like the Pacifica but not much else in the Chrysler stable. The Crossfire styling cues do not translate well onto the Sebring. It comes across as much too forced. Overall, Chrysler and Dodge have a couple of hits in an entire fleet of clunkers.

  4. Most of the things in the brochure are trivial, and it can be counterproductive by giving the impression that these are the only significant differences between the trucks. In a way, GMC is advertising the Tundra in the brochure by noting that it is a real competitor.

  8. The Eurosport VR had "AMG" type styling. They were fairly rare. The FWD A-bodies were ok cars, but they just hung around way past their prime. And GMTruck74, that sounds odd--I don't think the '81 Regal offered a diesel option. I knew someone with an '81 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham with the 5.7 liter diesel engine. I really admired that car, but it was traded in for a Calais later on.
  9. A design brilliance is emerging from GM. The Buick fob looks nice, but does it need to be so big? GM should have the fob integrated into the key.
  10. How about an Explorer Sport Trac? I've driven the Tacoma, Frontier, and Canyon. If cost were no object, the Tacoma is the one to get. But if it were my money, I'd get the Frontier. Every now and then, I think about trading in my Silverado for a Frontier.
  11. Just saw the commercial. It's actually for Avis, with the Garmin NAV being an option.

  13. I've seen vehicles like that, but also houses. The owners probably suffer from obsessive-compulsive hoarding.
  14. The last production car here called Scooter was the Chevette Scooter. As for the Demon, I think they did a really good job with it. Some parts are derivative, but I think everything comes together.

  17. I agree with evok. GM has a terrible track record with bringing over foreign market vehicles. And don't forget the Saturn L-Series, where sprinkling a little Americana did not work. I do hope the G8 gets some traction where the GTO did not because it has the right number of doors, contemporary styling, and a better feature set. The car does need a front end that doesn't look like a warmed over Grand Am, somewhat along the lines of the original Aurora breaking from the past. In the near luxury market, the competition is intense, and Pontiac is not an aspirational brand at all. Marketing is going to be key. The local Pontiac dealer does not give me warm feelings. Telling me that they will sell me a GTO for $5,000 over sticker did not help.

  21. The only reason there was a Rainier was that the orphaned Bravada had to go somewhere. The GMT-360's were somewhat competitive when they were introduced for model year 2002, aside from the quality issues, but they needed an update a couple of years ago, especially to fix the downmarket interiors. Now with the planned update canceled, these things will just linger on in a sad state.

    Breaking News

That's pretty much my recollection of Toyota's lineup, other than the trucks.
