  1. Just got 23.07 with the last fill up in the GP...and that's with about 80% highway, unimpressive.
  2. Personally, if Pontiac and GMC were to die, I would prefer to look outside of GM for my next vehicle purchase.
  3. 1. No, just a used 2001 Grand Prix. 2. Yes, possibly G6 or G8 when I graduate college.
  4. It really is hard to watch your favorite car company (GM) on a continuous decline for all these years with no end in sight.... Whichever brand they chose to kill, it's not like GM needs those sales anyways, I mean GM's market share has been declining every year for what 25 years now? The lost buyers can just flock to the imports like they did when Olds was phased out.
  5. 90-91 Reatta to be exact.
  6. I just finished Rude Awakening the other day and enjoyed it. It was interesting to read about NUMMI and the beginning of Saturn. (The book was published in 1990 I believe) The book really helps you understand why GM has been on such a downward spiral for all these years. A lot of the things that were going on in the 80's that the book mentioned still seem to be true today which is pretty sad. Collision Course just came in the mail the other day so I'll be starting that in the next few days.
  7. Wow....can't believe I even bothered to read that... Maybe a lot of people chose to buy Toyota's in your town because they don't want a POS like my Grand Prix that's in and out of the shop every other month since I've owned it. Fact is Toyota's are a safe, reliable, and risk less choice even if they are boring and foreign made.
  8. It's kind of strange, but back when I was about 12 and not too into cars, the first car ad that I remember catching my eye was back in 2000 when the 2001 Aurora debuted. It was sort of an eerie ad with some little girl in it, the car passed by her and she just stared or something. Don't ask why but ever since then Olds became my brand of choice, prior to that I had no interest in cars period. Around that time a lot of the Olds ads were sort of eerie and mysterious like that one and for some reason it sort of drew me to the brand. Weird? Yes.
  9. It really would be nice to see Pontiac with a DECENT advertising campaign. The only ads I see for Pontiac are cheesy "President's Day Sales" or whatever the given holiday sale is. There is great power that comes with a great ad campaign. A great example I witnessed was with my own mom. She is your typical vain middle aged yuppie, Gucci handbags, $150 haircuts, designer jeans, etc. etc..and a Lexus ES. After owning a 2000 Bravada she swore she would never go back to GM, the thing was a nightmare in its early miles. Never in a million years would she consider a Cadillac, what would her co-workers think? She was in love with her car and couldn't stop saying how superior the dealer as compared to the local Cadillac-formerly olds dealer. I was sitting watching tv once and she comes by when the new ad for the CTS comes on with some hot brunette talking about chocolates and shoes in it and she goes, "I would look so hot in that car, she's just like me." Ever since then she's been obsessed and even went out on her own to test drive one. Although in our typical local Cadillac dealer fashion the car she was test driving ran out of gas in the middle of traffic. Once she's done with me and my sister in college it's her present to herself she says. I think it's ridiculous but there are a lot of people probably out there like her sadly. That right there just made me wonder what decent marketing could do for Pontiac, something they haven't had in ummm years??. Of course decent product helps but with the G8 here, Solstice targa, and G8 ST coming soon, they have some. Then of course a large ad campaign is something that GM can't afford so it's just wishful thinking...
  10. I'm in the same boat as you...I've always been an Olds and Pontiac guy but now with what looks like Pontiac going the way of Olds it looks as if my GM days are numbered at least for now. When I graduate college in 2-3 years the GP will be well over the 200K mark and I will be looking for a new car. A G8 would suite my needs perfectly but by the sounds of it I'll be lucky to get one in even a just a couple years. I just can't see myself ever driving a Chevy or Saturn, just too generic for me. Even though my GP has a 11 year old design I still get endless compliments from everyone and anyone. That's the kind of sedan I want; something that doesn't blend in, and something I can't get at Chevy or Saturn. Sure I'd love to have a new Cadillac, but right after graduating they will be out of my price range for at least some time. Ditto Time to chop up my GM rewards card.

    Waxin'

Yep just with a foam applicator. It is the type of wax that they say additional coats add additional gloss but I tried adding an additional coat but it's would not stick since it was so glossy. Amazing stuff.

    Waxin'

Prep: 1st step: Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0 2nd step: Meguairs Show Car Glaze 7 Wax: 3rd step: Top of the Line (Brand) Trade Secret Carnauba Wax- The best wax I have EVER used, goes on in a really clear extremely light coat, leaves no residue, and comes of effortlessly. You only leave it on for 30-60 seconds. The only place that I can find it is at the BMW dealer and it is around $50 for a jar but it lasts forever. For original 147K paint it still looks pretty good. BTW if anyone is looking for a really good leather cleaner/conditioner I highly recommend the BMW branded leather care that they sell at the dealerships, it's the best I have found so far and I have tried many, many different kinds.
  13. I'm betting $50 we'll probably hear from you within the next day or two
  14. Hmmm, not many of us from the Twin Cities....Reg?? Maybe that gal will be working at the Kia booth again this year...
  15. While at the Mall of America this morning I too saw my first new vibe and had to look twice (after a quick glance I thought it was the G8 because all I really saw was the grille sticking out). I then realized it was not due to the horrible shaped headlights, which are my main gripe about the front end. If the headlights weren't so huge the front wouldn't look all that bad. Overall it was nothing too exciting to look at, I guess it could be worse....
