  1. The new 9-7x commercial, where the fighter plane morphs into the SUV, is awesome. It got my family's attention immediately last night and we usually talk/get food or drinks during commercials. Edit: spelling
  2. No more in a FWD car.
  3. I can't believe I'm agreeing with FOG! :o I'm really hoping the Escalade looks better in the actual PR photos. It's not really getting my attention in the spy pictures, especially the ones in this thread. FOG is 100% correct when he said the GMT900's should NOT be gap vehicles. Tons of money went into their development and they were rushed to production and they should have been done correctly the first time, not half-assed and then improved 2-4 years later.
  4. I thought we've addressed this fuel economy thing 1,000,000 times by now and people are still complaining about the Prius not getting the EPA fuel economy estimates.
  5. What a nice way to spend Christmas Eve, toni. Hopefully the new residence is worth it. BV, the same with me. My birthday's on December 5 and then 15 days until Christmas. I feel sorry for the people whose birthday is only a few days before or after Christmas and it gets all rolled up into one big celebration. The best are graduation parties. You invite people you haven't seen in years and they show up with nothing but cash. It felt so good to make $1,000 in just a couple of hours.
  6. LMFAO. How many employees has GM cut during the past 2 years?
  7. All these options/features you guys are talking about will probably be standard by year 2 at the latest. Granted, I agree with Croc about the steering wheel but navi is coming soon. Xenon headlights would be good, too. Does it come with a smartaccess-type system?
  8. I'm a fan of old school R&B...the old Mariah, Luther, etc.
  9. I know this is a joke thread but a local Toyota dealer gave my uncle $2,500 for his '95 Blazer with well over 100,000 on it. Shocked him.
  10. I remember Cher's "retiring" tour went on for years. Made a lot of money off of it, though. I check the top grossing concerts every week on billboard.com and she was up there. Can you imagine the length and popularity of final tours of artists like Elton John, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, U2, etc?
  11. Speaking of the hybrid buses, does anyone know the difference in cost between one and a regular diesel-powered bus? I'm kind of curious about it.
  12. My car isn't broken but it looks like crap, literally. There are tons of birds at the train station and most of last week I parked under trees/tall bushes so you know what happened. I cleaned it this weekend and this morning I was running late so I didn't care where I parked. You should see it.
  13. Fall and early winter are THE best times of the year. The weather is perfect (for me, at least), the leaves are changing color, snow, holidays, family, food and clothes are the best when it comes to design and materials.
  14. City government services should definately invest in hybrids, no matter who makes them. Hybrids work best in cities when the speed limit is rarely above 35MPH and in traffic the cars just sit there. My university in Philly has a fleet of previous-gen Prius' and Escapes for security duty. A great idea, if you ask me. BTW, I went to a GMC dealer and asked about purchasing a hybrid bus and the salesman just looked at me. Long story short, I didn't drive one home because they aren't available to the general public. ^_^ :P
  15. According to CR (go ahead and laugh) the most reliable vehicle of 1997 and 1998 is the Toyota Tacoma. The VW Passat (or maybe Jetta, can't remember) was the least reliable with 70-some% of owners taking it to the dealer for service.
  16. All manufacturers are copying off each other by offering sliding front seats! :o
  17. I don't know about Caddy but I'm 18 and I don't drink because of what I have seen alcohol do to people and families. My family doesn't have a problem but a family friend and a previous member of my extended family showed me all I needed to see. Alcoholism is rampant in high school and college, too. It's just not for me. Edit: spelling.
  18. Ditto.
  19. Love it, especially the back end. It's a shame Saab couldn't redo the interior across the entire 9-3 line for the launch of the SportCombi. It would have increased sales.
  20. LF-A, the rumored super Lexus? Releasing the car to the public the same week the film comes out would be a marketer's wettest dream.
  21. College/scientific-like articles like this one bore me. The writing is so mundane and "perfect" and the point seems lost on me. Is there a point?
  22. A college degree is a great investment, though.
  23. No love for me, sorry, bv. It is quiet around here, though. Maybe we can meet and spice things up? LOL...j/k.
  24. First, sixty-eight, I'm sorry for the problems you and Marcia have been having. Everyone gets "fed up" sometime during their relationship. It happened to my parents earlier this year with my mom threatening divorce but it worked out in the end (or so far) after the family talked/screamed. Usually people continue to bottle things up and eventually they get to be too much and everything comes crashing down. Communication is key. My advice is to control the anger and continue to talk things out. Taking a weekend trip to do this would be good. Maybe you'll get back together and rekindle past love? You should discontinue doing special things for Marcia, though, only if the two of you are no longer in a relationship. A word of caution, however. Be prepared to be blindsided at any time over anything. Always document what happens in a journal and, if the situation gets much worse, obtain a lawyer and be ready to fight. Men get the short end of the stick in divorce and custody cases. You may have a lead with custody, though, since, according to you, Marcia does not have the physical means to take care of your daughter. Start looking for a job and a house/apartment/condo just in case. I really do hope everything works out for you. Relationships represent the best and worst of people. Good luck and remember we're all here to help you out when you need it.
