  1. Is this based on old Macs or new ones? I've had my iBook for 2 years and it's much better than my boyfriend's year old Dell. I use PCs at work and I had a PC through college and my Mac has outshone them all. There's a reason why Macs are the preferred choice of graphic designers, musicians, engineers, etc. They work. My iBook was more than the Dell but I've never had a problem with it whereas the Dell's been through on site tech support twice now. Interface issues? Macs are super intuitive and much easier to use than a Windows platform. Widgets, the dash, the dock, iLife, iDVD - all super easy to learn and use. Don't bash a Mac without giving it a fair shot.
  2. Our home has a Dell Inspiron 6000 and an Apple iBook.....the iBook pwns the Dell anyday! Ever thought of going Mac? iBooks are gone now but they've been replaced by Mac Books and Mac Book Pros. If you insist on going PC, try the Sony and Toshibas. Dells are being price slashed left and right, for a reason! Good luck with your search though, I love my iBook, wouldn't go back to a desktop.
  3. it seems you've gotten all the help you need already! here are some good ipod/itunes sites: Everything iPod Ipod Lounge enjoy the nano! Between my boyfriend and I we have a 60 gig video, a 6 gig nano, and a 4 gig mini.......we're total iPod fans!
  4. yeah........that's a weird picture, i love fishholder's expression though!
  5. I love the Murano's looks but found it lacking in interior/features......it'll be interesting to see how the Rogue turns out.
  6. Those are the exact reasons I bought an 05 TSX navi......I had gotten promoted at work and I wanted my first new car to be one I loved and would love for the next few years. I traded in my 02 RSX (which I bought used w/18k miles and was a perfect used car) for the 05 TSX and never looked back. Sure I could've spent an extra 5-10k on a BMW 3 series or MB C class but I still have college loans to pay and I do want to buy a house soon. Oh and I'm going to have a kid. Acura hit a market made for people like me....a few years out of college with a decent job/salary and who want to have nice looking, well built, fully featured cars that are steps above Civics without having to break the bank. The TSX is the entry level and the TL takes it up another notch and is a strong competitor....the TL and MDX are top sellers among consumers who list BMW and MB as other choices. Why? Because they offer more value for the money. There's no way I could've outfitted a 330 with the features of my TSX for anywhere near the same price. Sure I've got a 4 cyl instead of a 6 but considering the majority of my driving is commuting, I'm not missing the 6 too much. The RL is lagging for the reasons others pointed out........TL is basically the same car minus the SHAWD and some extras for a lot less. Acura also has excellent service, warranties, roadside assistance.......I've always had good experiences at Acura and I'm a loyal customer. My boyfriend is the one actually buying our next car so I don't have the final say but I hope he chooses the MDX or RDX as our family car. It's a solid, well featured car that does drive well and is well priced. Not everyone cares about snob appeal. I'm not going to go bankrupt trying to impress others with a car I can't afford. I'd rather pay my car note and be happy with my purchase and enjoy the ride. Acura features are without a doubt high in value per dollar. Again, most Acuras don't come with many options...everything is pretty much included and even options like navi are priced competitively. Acura may not get the same snob appeal as a BMW or MB or Audi but it's perfect for a lot of us. And since when is snob appeal supposed to be the focal point of a car? Isn't that reserved for the truly elite exotics? I mean, how many black or silver 330s can you see without getting used to them? Or gold or white C classes?
  7. I love Acuras and this just makes me love them more, I'm on my second Acura (02 RSX and now 05 TSX) and we're looking into buying an SUV as we're having a baby in March and my boyfriend's current car is way too small for a carseat! I haven't test driven the 07 MDX but I did try out the TL and RDX. Maybe it's because I've had 2 Acuras and driven 2 others but the navi and controls/buttons are super easy for me and my boyfriend. Our top picks now are the X5/X3, MDX/RDX, FX45, Yukon Denali...I don't need to give up my TSX so it'll mainly be my boyfriend's ride and he refuses to get anything like a CUV/tall station wagon, it's not guy enough for him. He's iffy on the Acura's, prefers the BMWs One thing I will say about Acura, I love the service.......I've always been well treated during the entire process - buying, maintenance, etc. Thanks for the photos, can't wait to try it out myself!
  8. I've never liked the Solara's...even the name bites.
  9. I always hear crossover but from time to time I hear CUV and SAV.
  10. All the Hyundai comments are intersesting...one of my former coworkers bought a new sonata about 6 months ago. It was his first new car ever at 25, he just had a baby and wanted something with lots of safety features but didn't want to pay $30k for it. They're ok looking but having grown up in an era when Hyundai's were known to be cheap and problem-prone vehicles it's still a bit hard to think of them as true competitors to Toyota, Honda, or GM and DC. His Sonata isn't bad looking......black with a nice interior, decent ride but I still can't shake the "you went into cheapo shopping mode" feeling
  11. I agree, doesn't look like a Jeep should look, there's no Jeep allure to it thus no appeal thus no sales.
  12. Thanks guys and BV...I do like the name Cory but my cousin already has that name!
  13. Oh yeah! My boyfriend and I are expecting our first and we just found out yesterday that it's a boy! Daddy ran track in college and was all state in wrestling and football back in high school so we're expecting the next Michael Vick
  14. Texting is handy....we just found out yesterday that we're having a boy and instead of making tons of calls, both my boyfriend and I sent out mass text messages and it was great, we got tons of replies in quickly! I have "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani as a ringtone but it makes for a great morning wake up alarm. Try sleeping through that!!!!

    Ahhh...

I love fall too! On Sunday my boyfriend and I took a walk around the National mall from one end of the Smithsonian museums up towards the Capitol. Just a perfect day. Plus fall marks the return of my favorite drink......Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
  16. Huge word! I'll open up my statements and find that my dr billed $120 for a visit and got paid like $60 or so and that's with a PPO! When my boyfriend had to elect health insurance he asked about HMO vs PPO and I told him to stick with a PPO even though it's a higher deduction from his paycheck. HMO's are trying to save money and the consumer and dr's both feel the pinch. As far as GM, the problems will only get worse......the baby boomers are exploding, there is still a high percentage of "older" workers in the workforce, and costs are ballooning out of control. I'm not sure what the solution is but it is a mess.
  17. wow, extending 0% to sub-prime is definitely a high risk and desperate move. I wouldn't be suprised if the naysayers are right, just look at what's been happening to people with interest only mortgages, they're losing homes left and right because they can't afford their adjusted rate increases. my very first car ever was an 88 ford taurus wagon and even though the tranny fell out at 80k, it was still a fun car for high school (i could haul around all my friends!)
  18. It really does look nice.....no wonder people keep telling me to add it to my list of new family suv/cuv/etc possibilities
  19. those are some pretty pix! I can't believe you already have snow I doubt we'll see any around my area until December which is fine with me, just like Camino I'm a big autumn fan
  20. My first two jobs were draining but now I'm much happier at my current place. Much better work, better environment, etc. I no longer feel dread waking up in the morning knowing I have to go to work. So currently, work has made me a happier girl.
  21. lol, I'm loving all the snaps in this thread!
  22. haha, that calls for a true "oh snap!"
  23. TL's can be a good buy especially if you're comparing them to 3series or baby MBs, I'm glad the Type S is back. I love the TL but it wasn't in my budget when I went car shopping last year. I do have to agree with the earlier comment on Acura's interiors, they are nice!
