Honda scores with new pickup line
What about the completely unimpressive fuel economy and novelty bed-in-trunk storage that becomes a massive burden when you have to change a flat? Let's unload the bed and the trunk then get the tire. Thanks, Honda.

GM Hybrid to Undercut Prius
What nimrod wrote this? 1) EV1 was a divisionless car. It carried GM badges and was leased through Saturn dealerships. In fact, it was the only GM-branded vehicle ever produced by General Motors. 2) The EV1 never "sold in large numbers." In fact, the sales total for the EV1 was ZERO. All 800+ GenI and GenII cars were leased to the owners for between $350-499/mo for 36 months, not counting federal, state, and local refunds. GM withdrew the EV1 after CARB first withdrew their ZEV mandate. Other factors like the lack of public charging stations at time of launch and the more limited range of the first-generation lead-acid EV1. People - like this article - love to gloss over the EV1 as if it was yet another half-baked dead-end by GM. Far from it. Keep in mind this was the very first all-new, all-original, all-electric car sold and marketed in the United States by anyone. A modified EV1 set the land speed record for production EVs at 183mph. There were even hybrid and four-seater version of the EV1 in the works.

The 2006 Honda Accord
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Oh, sorry. I was remembering what the '06 Accord looked like. Saw another one today and, God, that new rear robs it of any personality it once had. Yeah, upside-down Odyssey taillamps looked a little queer, but it also looked far more substantial than the rounded triangles gracing the new Accord and 34% of the world's sedans.

Is driver chivalry dead?
Well, the funniest instance of shoulder scooting I've seen was back when my father and I were driving out of D.C. on the Beltway. This little shitbox Echo thought he was soooo hot by whipping around our Bonneville and dashing down the shoulder. I guess he got nabbed by a motorcycle cop a mile or so ahead and - this is the best - he was escorted back up behind us! I guess the cop saw him from a distance.

Excuse Me While I...
Its rice if you bolt, tack, glue, stick, and screw on a bunch of ugly, color-mismatched PepBoys crap. Pretty much anything is in such a circumstance.

The Changing Aura Concept
Maybe its just me, but a lit steering wheel center is truly one of those pointless show car details that doesn't even make sense on a production car.

Toyota to introduce 3G hybrid engine
You have to realize motoring in most other industrialized countries is heavily biased towards city driving, so a system that allows a lighter, smallish car to scoot around on battery power at low speeds and short distances is ideal. I'm really not surprised the stratospheric mileage of any Japanese hybrid isn't even close to being matched stateside because of our highway-biased driving where a more powerful engine for cruising is more ideal. Plus, we use a/c a whole lot more than alot of places, too.

Is driver chivalry dead?
I like the people who try to run and gun down the shoulder so they can cut ahead of everyone. If I get a good enough visual heads-up on this, I like to pull a little onto the shoulder...you know...for safety reasons. :P

2006 Acura CSX
The dual dash. The Namco arcade game steering wheel. The little quarter window ahead of the Dumbo sideviews. The lousy taillamps (US Civic). The too-short hood. The Godawful proportions of the Civic coupe. That's from my eyes at least.

We were all giddy about Buick LaCrosse spyshots? There was an Ugly Car of the Year Award? We thought Petra was a chick? Bobo was our biggest ricer? 4cyl diesel Corvette?

i got fired!
Don't attack anyone. There was no need for those sorts of responses, Black and Blue Landscaper, especially since you were the one who decided to air your dirty laundry to everyone. That's what the warning is for. Anyway, back to normal conversations...

Lower Education?
The two years I spent in private school sucked. Granted, it was pre-K and Kindergarten, but still. I enjoyed public school greatly, not to say private school doesn't have its merits - I'm sure they do, but my personal experience left nothing to be desired.

Higher Education?
Though formerly and in most respects still a community college, St. Petersburg College is now a fully accredited 4-year institution with several BA and BS degree options. In any case, my diploma will read Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ, so in either case...
