  1. I still don't understand what Kerkorian HAD to gain by investing in GM in the first place... Surely he didn't have the foresight to see this potential "Merger of Equals" (YEAH RIGHT!) coming. I mean, obviously if DCX is to serve as the example, GM stock will shoot up and he'll probably gain a significant amount of money by selling. But, my question is; why did he invest in a badly failing GM anyway? Maybe he invested in the company to try to open the door and ALLOW foreign control of GM, kinda like Chrysler, which pisses me off. That someone would sellout and sell off one of our industrial giants/history like that shows why I have a problem with this country and the people who comprise it. Even still though, I wouldn't necessarily be against and actual alliance. I just don't want to see this headline: "General Motors becomes a division of Nissan/Renault" I do NOT want foreign control of GM.
  2. Yeah, except it'll eat an Si alive.... MORE of a reason why I want an Impala SS.... LOL. (No, seriously! I do!) Except, none of the "enthusiast" mags givva damn... They're to busy bitching about the "hard interior plastics" and other PANSY details. I guess that's how they get when you take them away from their mommies for a few minutes... God forbid anyone be a REAL MAN anymore. Such a beautiful machine... If only I could afford one... Oh well, guess it was TOO COOL for the media to give it the nod. If something from Detroit is too competitive, then it gets panned even harder. I'm sure GM would get bitched at for the 5,000 or so they sell to no end. "It uses too much gas.... It's unsafe.... It's marketed to kids" Give me a break! By in large, I agree 100% with the article... The regular Cobalt SS should NOT be an SS, the Silverado SS should not be an SS and the Malibu/Maxx SS shouldn't carry the badges either. The Impala & Monte can slide by for now, but Chevy really does need to make SS Less of a top trim level and more of a specific trim level such as SVT or SRT. BTW, did anyone else notice that the SS cars the author *REALLY* liked were the 2 developed by GMPD (Trailblazer SS & Cobalt SC/SS) I think that in itself says something.
  3. Sounds like GM is about to be whored out like Chrysler was... Now if we could just oust that PESKY Ford family over in Dearborn (Which they tried, by trying to run the company into bankruptcy) we could whore ALL of the big three out and rid ourselves of another "rustbelt"/crappy burdening industry. YAY!!! Happy fourth of July America!!!!! Your independence is fading faster than the morale itself.
  4. Now that GM is FINALLY starting to market it right, it's making a difference... If only they could get this through their heads for ALL of their other offerings. The Solstice is doing exactly what it was supposed to do... Making Pontiac cool again.
  5. They knew it had potential for the heart of the market and THAT'S WHY they were naysayers in the first place... You'll never hear them apologize for or backtrack on their efforts to kill the vehicle BEFORE THE PUBLIC EVEN GOT A LOOK AT IT. But, let it stumble one month and by god we'll be flooded with articles bout it.
  6. What a HORRIBLE piece of work... It's a waste of time.
  7. The last paragraph sums it up beautifully.... NEVER would an UNBIASED source say that "Buick is a dead mark dying" Only the anti-GM fan the flames of that site... I'd look for more professional reviews.
  8. This is the same site that has the BIASED "GM Death Watch" and the same site that panned the new Escalade in a very biased way and the same site that Buickman has ties to.... Any more questions????? Take everything they write ith a grain of salt... Even the Camry comment is RIPPED OFF from Car & Drivers otherwise pretty positive review.
  9. WOW!!!!! The media actually being HONEST AND defending GM?!?!?!? Is this the twilight zone or something?!?!?!?
  10. I thought that too.... But honestly anymore, I don't think EITHER party is worth it's weight in trash.
  11. Now c'mon cmattson... You know the spiel... If we all bought Tundras in the FIRST PLACE, all would be right with the universe, mankind would be at peace and we would all be intelligent enough not to have to worry about violence.
  12. Oh yes, because I forgot... They can NEVER be class leading. As for Tadross... Well, he's always been a dyed-in-the-wool GM hater. Anybody who follows "the street" can see that.
  13. Umm.... Okay.... Why would I complain about WISE business decisions?? I highly doubt this has much merit. But you all know my OPINION. As far as I'm concerned GM should just completely uproot and moove somewhere outside of this country. The more manufacturing outsourcing the better (for the business that is) As for americans, and my pride as being an american.... Well, our MAJORITY sold that out a long time ago when they started signing suicide free trade agreements and buying cheap ass imported products and proclaiming them better. What's fair is fair IMO.
  14. Oh give me a BREAK!!!!!!! Where was this REVELATION when the media was dragging Detroit through the dirt for recalling multiple models?!?!?!?! Efficiency my ass...... It never mattered with GM's GMT360 platform.... Okay, whatever.... That is, until they visit the dealership... You know... It's pretty obvious that Toyota PR is kicking into damage control. Both this and the BusinessWeek article present these SAME facts and quotes... So, essentially, Toyota BAITS the media with what to say and our DUMBASS media followers like a retarded 3 year old. LOL... The new Avalons are falling apart (Literally) and CR ***STILL*** rates it at average... So much for "Unbiased car ratings" Umm, okay, a spike in RECALLS and the number of RECALLED vehicles for 2 consecutive years, and most of them being NEW, limelight models as well, APPARENTLY isn't anything to be worried about... Yep, that's PERFECT!!!! Keep that attitude up Toyota!!! It's the SAME mistake Detroit made. As for Forbes... This entire article, the last sentence especially, just serves to reinforce insecure YUPPIES that the "Better than thou" brand of choice is still; just that. Godf forbid their simple little egosd be busted and ruined... I'm glad that the media is now effectively, like everything else, JUSTIFYING recalls in order to hide YET ANOTHER Toyota shortcoming and LIE. Pretty soon, maybe it'll be okay for people to die when their Prius stalls on the freeway. I can see it now: "20 people have died in their Prius, but so far so good as Toyota is the place to be for worry-free motivation. In essence, safety doesn't matter."
  15. GREAT!!! This just goes to show that if GM LAUNCHES the CORRECT PRODUCT (READ: Innovative, stylish, desireable) in the CORRECT MANNER (READ: actually INFORMS the consumer of it's existance & virtues) that Pontiac and Buick CAN still have life. The G6 seems to be doing better everyday!!!! GM also needs a new GTO to keep that momentum going! And to think... Everyone wanted this division to be phased out. And to think, I haven't even seen ANY reviews on this car yet (Although I'm sure they'll all be just as $h!ty as our automotive media itself)
  16. It looks good! And FINALLY, a set of wheels that look half ass decent!
  17. Great... That's all we need now; a F***ing MOVIE criticizing GM and brainwashing americanTs
  18. Interesting to see that all those "GOD'S GIFT TO THE MODERN CAR" Toyota dealership began as Chevrolet dealers, thanks to the government doing their best to eliminate our industry. And to think... Those Japan Inc. guys are just ***SUCH** honest businessmen that their entire existance is founded on screwing over Detroit. REMEMBER: It's GM that buys off analysts and is a threat to our country, RIGHT?!?!?! BTW: I'm not sure how credible this source is, but it makes perfect sense to me. (i.e. Be prepared for an insider to deny all of this and call GM the devil while praising Toyota...yada, yada, yada, you know the Toyota Corporate PR spiel) Click the link
  19. I think a lot of people are being thrown off be the 2d effect of the image. For example... The nose isn't flat, as some would suggest and the rear probably doesn't look that out of proportion. Also, this is an LT... If this is anything like recent Chevies there will be an LTZ trim probably with 20 inch wheels and other goodies. I think the 20's will go a long way, since one of my major complaints is the space between the fender and tire.
  20. I couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prime example: Look at all of the Chevrolet SS cars.
  21. Notice how... Since it's a GM vehicle, they handicapped it right out of the gate by opting for the V6 that they KNEW was inferior. It'll get the same generic YAWN rating that all GM's get in CR (Although they do reccommend the G6 now---That made me happy) They bitch about "falling roof panels" That seems to be an import stalwart these days. Then they limit the buyer base by saying: "It's the best BUICK on sale" (IMPLIED: If you're willing to sell your import loving soul for a paltry domestic) Seriously though... The Lucerne NEEDS a better V6 and a better transmission to realize it's full potential. Funn y there was no mention of the class leading safety... You'd think CR would want to exploit that. Oh, wait... Not in domestic land.
  22. Why not advance the G6 into something more of a Mazda 6/Mitsu Lancer fighter?!?!? Why not a super powerful AWD flagship?!?!?! I don't care if Pontiac sells FWD, that's fine because THAT's where the volume is... BUT, this delusional thinking that a reskinned 'Bu is something to pin "Performance Division" on is not going to cut it.
  23. Now the SRX just needs an effective marketing campaign and exposure
