  1. I'm willing to bet that the Silverado 427 concept is the pre-cursor to the new Silverado SS since everyone is talking about an LS7 powered entrant. That goes double when one looks at the styling. Should be an interesting show!!!

This is cool! And lets hope those wheels stay as a production option as well (I'm sure they will) GM needs to offer this as an SS as well.... I'm tellin' ya, the HHR, if marketed right, could go HEAD 2 HEAD with the xBLOB (xA) and xTOASTER (xB) in the tuner/custom world. GM should really go out on a limb with this, expand the line up in a huge way and go after sKion (Scion)
  3. Maybe the point of the car is simply good PR for Buick... It might serve to open the eyes of a few younger buyers (younger than current buyers anyway) so that when Buick does have a more worthy entrant in 1-2 years, they might consider buying.
  4. Bingo.... Couldn't have said it better myself.
  5. I hope it is a home run... Is it just me or 1) does it seem like the Aura is failing to sell that well so far OR 2) They must've ramped up awfully fast!
  6. Towing and payload...
  7. I agree 100%... The LAST thing Pontiac needs is another 'Holden with a twin grille' If it's going to be as lame in the looks department as the GTO (Which in all other respects is an awesome car) then don't even bother. Pontiac is supposed to be the "Excitement" and "bad boy" division of GM... So what do they do? Design a bad ass Camaro for Chevrolet, then give Pontiac a car that should be a Buick, if even that.
  8. This is, quite possibly the DUMBEST article I've read this year... More doom and gloom bull$h! from the tired press. I'm to the point that I couldn't care less now. Maybe Detroit will go out of business and maybe not, either way I'd like for these idiots to shut the hell up about it and focus on something other than a "what if" article that does nothing but WASTE MY TIME. REPORT THE NEWS... DO NOT CREATE IT
  9. It's a nice little car.... TOO COME IN FOURTH in all the comparisons after the new Japan Inc trio. The media has BARELY EVEN COVERED THE AVEO, much less paid it the respect it deserves and I'm sure they won't. They'll still bitch about the fuel economy or the "bland" styling (as it has been quoted in comparison to the Japan Inc. 3) I guess in order to have cool styling, you have to either look like a disproportioned WHALE (Yaris) a slightly lowered Scion with TACKED on fascias and body mods (Fit) or grandmas take on the whole situation (Versa) That yaris interior is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E, yet I'm sure, like the GOD-AWFUL interior in the Ridgeline and new Civic, it is chalked up as "TRENDY" and "NEAT" even with the UNSAFE center mounted gauges.
  10. 2010-2011 Is a helluva LONG time for this thing to go unchanged, ESPECIALLY if you consider that this is more of an enhancement than a redesign... With the new Japan Inc. entries, and GM allowing the Aveo to wither, the market will boom and GM will have yet another nameplate with negative baggage that they'll have to phase out.
  11. BUT BRIAN, BUT BRIAN!!!!! I'm a big, all knowing automotive analyst and I think that the G6 is a failure because the Sonata is more popular than it!!!!! No, I'm not wrong... I'm never wrong!!!! AUTOMOTIVE PRESS: "That Hyundai is really giving everyone a run for their money. Sales are growing exponentially!!! And they're the next big thing!!!!!" ***Shows how much your average automotive idiot journalist knows.***
  12. LMFAO!!!! Agreed.... And I think that it is utterly stupid for GM to underrate their HP numbers. Nobody cares enough to find out the truth, if they did this kind of thing would be common knowledge. The average car buyer goes by what the manual says (If they even have a clue in the first place) and they could care less if GM, IN GOOD WILL, OVER delivered on the promise. In fact, they'd probably be skeptical to believe it if they heard it. So, that said, GM should EXPLOIT the hell out of the actual numbers.... It's extrememly DUMB in this "horsepower driven" (Yeah right, you're average import yuppie doesn't even know what the hell the term means) race to HANDICAPP yourself right out of the gate. But, of course, GM is good at shooting themselves in the foot.
  13. I agree 110%!!!! A small diesel in the 900 platform would be a GURANTEED success!!!! Both on the sales front and PR front. But, GM won't do that... It just makes too much sense apparently. Instead, they'll let Ford or more importantly Toyota do it (Since the media and public will IGNORE Fords efforts OR fault them for something else) and then they'll try to cash in on it 4 years later, in hindsight and lost battles. The hybrid... Sure, I can see why they didn't jump on that train, because it was and STILL IS a dumb idea unless your media and elitest in your market make it a BAD stigma not to produce one (Which is what happened) but a smaller diesel that wouldn't take NEARLY the resources to engineer nor the dollars to market/purchase is another story entirely. My parents would LOVE to have a new diesel light duty Silverado as I'm sure MOST people who MUST have and use a truck would.
  14. Yet ANOTHER reason not to buy a Malibu..... And maybe even a G6.
  15. No diesels= DUMB IDEA Slow and limited hybrid rollout= DUMB IDEA Slow and limited technology rollout= DUMB IDEA.... This article pretty much sumed up my fears... Just when GM was on a roll and had a chance to truly lead and truly change perceptions, it's the same $h! just a different day. The same PREDICTABLE, SLOW, MEANINGLESS GM as always. Sorry to be harsh, but this is a big let down... It's time for GM to change perceptions on all fronts... and the "Fuel saving nazis" are growing exponentially in numbers for whatever reason.... Be it some LAME excuse that oil is funding terrorism or some DUMB documentary by politicians and actors who think they should tell us how to run our lives or be it via fuel fillup induced poverty or just plain old Detroit hating.
  16. "A company of ideas" ?!?!?!?!? LMAO.... Does anyone else see the irony in that and the subsequent ditching (Bad idea) of their AWESOME slogan? Idiots..... But, then again, the 'Bangle Bullsh*t' worked itself out, so why not?
  17. The FOG chuckles with a contentment not before felt. Die Toyota..... Die.....
  18. I've seen the Navy car in the metal. It's VERY impressive, the pix don't do it justice.
  19. Hummer+Hummer buyer=Couldn't care less about fuel economy.
  20. It'll be nice to see if the media gives the G6 credit where it's due now that the 3.6 and 6 speed are available. I'm sure they won't though... It'll be universally ignored and written up as "too little, too late." Everything looks great, except for the interior trim kits! I love the ground effects for the G6 and the wheels look excellent. Let us pray that GM actually equips some of these cars with the accesories, unlike with LAST years GP accesories and Impala/MC chrome wheels. I have YET to see ANY of those NICE additions on ANY of the afore mentioned cars. It's too bad that GM's accesories keep getting nicer and less and less people know about them. They should be standard equipment or standard options.
  21. Ummm... What about the Fusion, Milan, 500, Freestyle, Edge and MKX. I think Ford will do 'okay' they're just not as far along in their turnaround as GM is. Then again, the media pretty much pushed them into bankruptcy a few years ago anyway, so it's probably a little more difficult than most would expect. Oh, and BTW, bar the doors if Hyundai buys Jaguar. All we'll see in the media is HOW EXCELLENT the new Jaguars are!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. The new XK is one helluva car!
  22. LOL.... Yep, he's at it again... By general public, he must mean the 'NON V8 CAMRY/ACCORD YUPPIES' And, of course, the MKZ and it's sales success were apparently overlooked. Of course, we all know what evok thginks of those 'extra divisions'
  23. FRIKKIN' SWEET!!!
  24. P.S. I still can't believe that the MUCH HERALDED styling is a detractor.... Plus, the Jag is a domestic too..... Are they too dumb to realize that?!?!?!
  25. "A good choice if you MUST be seen in a domestic car" Says it all..... Both their arrogant bias and their agenda... "Long term asthetic appreciation" ?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF is this?!??!?! The Charmin ultra convention or something?!?!?!?! Are ALL of Car & Drivers writers LADIES now?!?!?!?! And they pan it for it's styling.... Well, not everyone likes the 'open mouth SALMON mounted on the wall' look of the XK either... Or the "Bangled, plastic, Buick novelty spare tire trunk" look of the BMW either... Okay, I get it.... Now the domestics have to LOOK a certain way to gain approval now too?!?!?!?!? Because the car is smooth and refined, it's "numb" ?!?!?! Then at the end, they credit it's peer with making it look bad... The same way they creditied the G6 convertibles peers with making it look good.... Placing blame... Not cool C&D.. Oh well, GM will sell all they make and at a healthy profit too.. Things are looking up, SCREW Car & Driver and the FEW yuppies who are DUMB enough not to see their BLATANT BIAS and AGENDA to ruin GM & Ford.
