  1. All this coming from a Saab fan. :rotflmao:
  2. I'm not sure what side I take... I think Obama will be a bigger catalyst for the change that this country desperately needs. But I think McCain will be the better leader.
  3. But if they print them here, they're domestic magazines, right? Well, at least until quality is factored in... Then those 'domestic' imports are about as foreign as they can get.
  4. Wow... How stupid. And these people are supposed to be "more educated" than us?!?!?!
  5. $2.47 here as of late (Drops everyday though)
  6. I think he's an excellent leader that inherited a disaster that might never turn around. In fact, I would probably give Wagoner the nod over Lutz at this point. I love Lutz to death, but sometimes he just seems very illogical and out of touch and WAY out in left field. Which would explain why some of the cars under his reign have been a HUGE success and some of the cars have been dismal failures. In contrast, The Rick seems to carefully calculate every decision and take a middle ground stance on most things. It's funny, because for all of the bureaucracy that Lutz has managed to eliminate within the company (make no mistake, the political corporate sh*t is still alive and well, but Bob has cut back on it tremendously) it's almost as if the company has begun to take on his personality of NOT being able to do all things well and NOT being able to focus on more than one segment of the market at a time. For instance, we have EXCELLENT performance products, but our economy cars look and perform as if they're 10 years old. We have an excellent full size truck program but our small trucks suck more than a Hoover. It's this inability of GM to focus on the over all picture that is really killing the company now. We need both large trucks AND small cars, just as we need both Pontiac and Saturn.
  7. Which again, aligns itself with Pontiac being the entry point for the B/P/GMC channel AND Pontiac competing with VW (G6 in context with Jetta)
  8. What?!?! Given you past affinity for the Solara, I figured this would be right up your alley.
  9. I'm betting on the Chrysler tie up to provide global support... Not that I think GM is smart enough to do it, but they could build a performance global division around Dodge & Pontiac. Use Dodges presence around the globe to spring board Pontiac. Combined, the divisions could offer a wider range of already developed and future products. Same could be said for a Pontiac/Jeep tie up.
  10. SWEET!!! I'd buy it. But I would prefer a cleaner front end and some better wheels. Does this remind anyone else of the Vauxhall version of the G8? (Not a bad thing at all)
  11. NICE!!! BTW, has anyone seen the VERY AWESOME color print ad in MT this month that showcases all of Pontiac's vehicles and includes a pullout picture of the Solstice Targa and G8? It even includes the G8 ST, UPDATED G6 and G3 Pontiac has a very nice, well rounded line up now. GM just needs to get the details and marketing right for it to be very successful.
  12. SPOT ON!!! As usual!
  13. LOL, what a surprise!!!! 700 BILLION in "GIFTS" for the fat cat execs on Wall Street to take vacations -- APPROVED!!!!!!!! A few billion given to our LAST large manufacturing industry to save MILLIONS OF JOBS for COMMON people -- DECLINED! Anybody still believe in the government and where it's intentions/motivations/interests lie?
  14. P.O.W. 'nuff said. But then I wouldn't expect you to understand anyway. And let's not go into the adultery game. Your boy Bill screwed around on Hilary with how many people? And then used his position as commander in chief to hide the truth and THEN lied to the american people in their own houses.
  15. But isn't that the point of the liberals in the first place? The're supposed to be the 'tolerant' party, but they sure as hell can't stand conservatives (or anyone that disagrees with them, for that matter) Or so that seems to be the case now that we've heard them (through the media) bitch about "our horrible president" for 8 years instead of accepting defeat and unting to advance this country. I find it very funny that people on here are referring to ANY politician as a common man. The politicians are the 'haves' and we the people are the 'have nots' and they'll make sure it stays that way. That is the fundamental problem with this country and that is why nothing will get better. It's "every man for himself" and the politicians, liberal or conservative (as if there is even a huge difference now anyway) lost site of what the people needed a LONG time ago.
  16. I'm a 'common man' and I own 7 vehicles. 3 Chevies 1 Buick 1 Ford 1 Dodge 1 Toyota Not trying to be mean, but I really don't see what the number of vehicles you own has to do with anything. (Especially if they're family or specialty cars)
  17. I think that Dodge, if structured right, could just be what keeps Pontiac alive.
  18. VW and its plethora of quality problems gets excused though, because it isn't a Detroit company. Even CR has plotted quality problems on VWs, yet they still seem to be something of status.
  19. Lemme guess... It's all of the fun and individualistic models. Bring on the homogeny!!! 'Cause we all know that's how GM makes it's money!
  20. Nah, the media wouldn't allow that.
  21. I'm not calling you racist... I just meant that it could be construed as a racist comment. You know that you're one of my favorite posters here at C&G. (At least I think I've said that before. But anyway, it's true.) God help me if that happens. My family and friends are on strict orders to shoot me if I start acting 'liberal' in any way I agree... A lot of them are tacky. But my point is someone liked the design enough to take the time to do that. I don't see many "blinged out" Cobalts or Camrys. You have a kid?!?! I never knew. I don't really think any of those elements drive the core of the market though. By default, yes. The reason Toyota and Honda sell is because they're a safe bet. But Detroit WILL NOT be able to sell on that for a very long time, so they must appeal to emotion. The Sebring, Aspen, Crossfire, long outdated PT and less than stellar minivan replacements did as much or more to damage the division, Different drivetrain, different time (domestics still owned the market then) different public consensus. It's a new game now. If competent engineering alone could sell domestics cars, then the Malibu, G6, Fusion, Milan and Aura would own the segment.
  22. $2.59 here in Charlotte.
  23. Basically, yeah. Pretty much every VeeDub owner I know (A lot, since I hang out with architects, which basically are 1) metrosexual people 2) Gay people and 3) yuppies) has a love/hate relationship with their car. I even know one girl that told me of the front of her Passat (The bumper cover) FALLING OFF while she was driving down the road.
  24. Sounds a lot like GM in general to me.
