  1. I'm not trying to be 'thick' or anything, but, what the hell is that supposed to mean? BTW, that was an honest question about Dodge being global. I haven't followed Chrsyler that closely since Daimler bought them (So, for a long time)
  2. So, the Buick won't idle or run. I'll fire it up and it'll idle for a split second, then it starts running real rough and usually dies unless I give it more gas. It's almost like it has 'jumped time' but I know that's impossible since it doesn't possess a timing chain. Any ideas? I changed the fuel filter hoping that would be a cheap and easy fix. I know it probably needs a set of plugs and wires but I don't think that alone would cause it to completely crap out. Other thoughts I've had: 1) fuel pump (But the fuel pump sounds fine) 2) catalytic converter 3) O2 sensor (It has been flashing a code since we bought it.) 4) EGR valve (If I'm not mistaken, this will cause a code as well, right?) Someone even told me that the cams are really bad to wear out on these cars. But it only has 80,000 miles, so I highly doubt it's the cam.
  3. I think Osama accomplished his goal. (And I've been saying that for 3 years now) Do I think he planned it? Not really. But I think he was smart enough to know how to 'hit us where it hurts' and then 'hope for the best'. americans are so greedy and corrupt that they did the rest all by themselves.
  4. Where did all of this come from?!?!? You all know that I am a huge proponent of free speech on this forum. But I think it is important that we remember the context here. This is a BB that anyone can come to and say anything. There is no face to go with the name and text on the screen. So, as a result people can be a lot more bold and harsh than they would be face to face (I know I am) and they can say very hurtful things without feeling remorse because after all, it's "just text on a webpage". Just because we disagree on politics, cars, the color purple, whatever, doesn't mean that anyone should take it personal. ocn I don't really think you owe anyone an apology (But I see why you started the thread) because I don't think anyone should take what is typed on here that seriously. I'm not trying to make our board insignificant in any way, but there are a lot of psychological factors that play into a community like this and we should all keep that in mind. It's like I always say; FUTURE_OF_GM is not me. FUTURE_OF_GM is an identity that I created for a GM forum. No one should ever judge a personality or the value of a person solely because of what they post here. FWIW, eventhough I am not planning on voting in the election, I think that both candidates have the ability to do great things for this country. We'll just have to wait and see.
  5. Not an american government.
  6. Careful there friend... That makes WAY too much sense for our government to actually execute.
  7. Didn't the article mention that Dodge is global now? (albeit small)
  8. Not really... Do you think the citizens of this nation can unite if they are struggling to afford fuel and food? That's not conspiracy, that's a well proven wartime fact. I'll throw another 'opinion' of mine into this melting pot. (pun intended) Do you think that this country could ever unite anyway based on how diverse it has become? I don't think so. Now, before anyone says it, I'm not against diversity. But I am against people coming to america (or any other country for that matter) and refusing to be a part of that country in spirit. Some of the people who live here couldn't care less about america and what it stands for. Instead, they continue to support their home country and 'use' america for it's opportunity. Immigrants used to be proud that they were coming to america, and we benefited from that in a HUGE way. Not so much anymore. So, do I think anything is really going to happen? (i.e. a conspiracy against the government) Absolutley not.
  9. Interesting... Like I mentioned earlier, Chrysler is Chrysler Corps weakest division and would be gone. As far as GMC... Well, the only logic I could see there is 1) the truck side of the market is set to be a lot smaller. 2) GMC and Chevy duplicate a lot and 3) Dodge has more truck sales. I guess the above 4 channels would be the easiest way to go. Saab/Cadillac loses Hummer as it is sold off. Chevrolet remains the same. Saturn gets its opportunity to grow and Pontiac gets its opportunity to live. And the Dodge-Jeep dealers are already formed, so GM would just have to phase out Chrysler. I just wonder what the focus of the divisions would be... Mainly Pontiac, Chevrolet and Dodge since they're all focused at essentially the same market. Maybe this will lead to the more focused Pontiac that we all wanted. I guess Chevrolet would still be the volume division and Dodge could maybe be limited somehow? I dunno. I really have NEVER seen the issue with having 2 volume divisions. If you have excellent product for both divisions, then wouldn't that equate to even more sales/pressure on the asians? But apparently a lot of people think that's a bad idea.
  10. He had Nissan in his pocket. I think that's the only reason he was buying up domestic producers. He doesn't really want an automaker, he just wanted to make the merger happen and get paid.
  11. I know, isn't it great! Sweet revenge. LOL.
  12. Yes, but you posted the topic and the person who posts the topic can always delete it. Not a big deal either way
  13. :rotflmao: Oh wait, you weren't joking?
  14. Yep... They're the same. It shouldn't be democrat verses republican. It should be politicians verses real people.
  15. Then, instead of Saturn lobbying to be paired with Buick & GMC, they could be paired with the existing Chrysler brand(s) Just a thought...
  16. Well, this is what they and the media wanted right? I mean, when you have people in the financial circle saying that the market has decided that america no longer needs 3 automakers, yet it certainly needs 12 import automakers, what else do they expect?
  17. LOL, see my first post in this thread. Would I be a part of the shenanigans? I'll let you review my replies and decide. So, we should fear the future over the past, I guess. Who says america is free anyway? I don't see how this will be a problem in the future though... Once the powers that be have bankrupted 90% of the population into poverty, it won't be able to unite and provide resistance anyway. The tipping point would be now, if anyone is going to try anything.
  18. Which is exactly why I choose not to vote. We'll get the "same $h!, different day" treatment regardless who wins.
  19. CARBIZ, FTW!!!!!!
  20. Stagnated a bit?!?!?!?! A BIT?!?!? Talk to any socialogical economist and he/she will tell you that wages stagnated when Reagan took office and haven't recovered since. The reason it SEEMED our wages and standard of living were so high through the 90s was becuase of the credit market. Now that the credit market is gone and our wages are 20 years in the rear, welcome to the new 2 tier society.
  21. Yessir! My point exactly! Hence my 'americans are not willing to claim responsibility" comment.
  22. And deregualtion makes it just as easy for them to entrench in the global economy and screw us over and forsake us anyway. Capitalism is nothing more than creative destruction... Did you all think that capitalism would last forever in this country?
  23. The problem already exists at that level. We need better regulation below that. All Fannie and Freddie did was buy mortgage bundles from other banks to try and make a dollar. The regulation needs to come in where the mortgage is signed. Some (most) of these people sold/signed mortgages on McMansions to people that flat out could not afford them. Is that the fault of the banks? Maybe. But consumers are apparently too greedy and ignorant to take responsibility for their own actions. The FDIC, like the Comptroller of Currency, has become a JOKE because of deregulation. Had the issue been addressed in the first place, that/this crisis would not have happened. This country cannot run on pure capitalism anymore. The citizens have proven that they cannot be responsible with finances and the bankers have proven that they cannot be trusted not to be fradulent. Did the bailout work? Nope. This is our future regardless IMO.
  24. Exactly. Paper money is just that: PAPER.
