  1. On the other hand, i am happy to see you back.... Sorry I have not been around much the last few days, work has been insane. Getting ready to host an exchange student in my home. His name is Magnus and he is from Denmark. Very cool indeed! ...imagine a golden shower of responses... Interesting....
  2. Get well soon! Love the Rover, and that is the best color ever on my favorite post WW II Ford...maybe even my favorite psot WW2 American Car...Mustang is gorgeous. 61-62 Corvette is maybe the only Post WW II car that might Eclipse that era of Mustang fastback... NICE Choice of Restaurants. XJR and 8C are fantastic choices as well, and ahve not gotten enough love in the dream car garage threads...THANKS for posting this up!
  3. It is actually on my short list of want to own vehicles.
  4. Love the Marauder! And you have some excellent restaurant Choices as well.
  5. Unless your choice is Asian food...and then it is Pho king great....
  6. In this dream car garage, the rules are very simple. You will bring 5 cars and 5 local restaurants you will drive your choice of car to for an interesting meal. For the restaurants, only rule is no national chains-family owned or small local chain only. Restaurant should be local to where you live...say within 50 miles or so of your home. For the cars, any era any market is allowed, any price-just needs to fit the bill below. Car #1-American Muscle car, American traditional restaurant of some sort. Car #2, Italian car, Italian food-for those who do not like Imports, you may substitute an American car. Car #3. Vintage 4 Door sedan of some sort, restaurant should be some sort of ethnic food. Car #4, Modern sedan of some sort, restaurant should be something with a good entree below $25.... Car #5, SUV over $75,000 current market value, Fine dining. If you have to ask about a rule you are over thinking this one....have fun! Also, please put a personal description or web link for the restaurants of choice so we can all be a bit jealous of what you get to enjoy on a regular basis.
  7. Car #1, 1941 Lincoln continental Car #2, Mclaren F1 V2 E type jag, in this case 1972, Car #3. Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe car #4
  8. I had the same thing done...I am 51 and my youngest is 16...no more need for little kids around here!
  9. Fantastic...and I have another challenge coming shortly.
  10. That second car is gorgeous!
  11. Wonderful! Good news for a change.... ...and the Romans got a lot from the Greeks...educated Greek slaves taught the children of wealthy Roman citizens...ensuring the best parts of Greek culture also became part of Roman culture. So in the end all roads lead to Athens... ...and were it Athens Ohio there are a lot of good driving roads nearby...i need a Tesla roadster and a Miata roadster as garage mates...life is too short...
  12. I think one should do both to be mentally and emotionally fulfilled. ironically, was debating about going to the work shop and making sawdust or reading a serious non fiction book when I got off work... Trade School is a dirty word any more....and we ahve millions of blue collar jobs that go wanting while college graduates are lining up for jobs in art history that pay 26 grand a year....with people two hundred grand in debt getting a degree for that at a private university. It is called personal responsibility..and while I tend towards the liberal end of the spectrum...the government can't fix this one. It has to be individual Americans taking responsibility. If we could just do with everything else what we do with craft beer...lots of individual providers, lots of quality, lots of choices, all made right here in America. But Millennial people are drinking less Beer...Damn them! the younger generation s crews up everything (just kidding, I like Millennials...)
  13. ...and why we keep falling further behind. Looking at maybe taking an exchange student in the fall...I previously had an exchange student from Forbach France...he was 14 years old. He was fluent in German, french, English, and Japanese. Out of boredom he wanted to learn a 5th language... Had a young lady named Olga from St Petersberg Russia who was equally talented...we are falling so far behind the rest of the world educationally.
  14. Or any type of shop classes at all for that matter. Teach to the test...it's cheaper and easier than actually teaching people to think and do work in the real world.
  15. Agreed....! My son is 19 and has little interest in getting his lsicence.
  16. Agreed...Focus is selling, but probably fleet or heavy discounts.
  17. Agree with this. i also think they need to position themselves with the youth market-none of my kids or their friends are into GM stuff.
