  1. Interesting...but like the Sonic much better as a small car...
  2. New Impala should really win some people over, I think. I really miss being a kid in the 1970's when owning an Impala was a rite of passage into middle class suburbia....and our neighbors had tons of them....
  3. That's a great idea...and people (some of them) are so idiotically anti GM a lot of people would take it seriously....
  4. IMHO they should get the Z car right first... You all know my biases, and that I own both a Miata and a MINI Cooper S.... However.... Almost every smaller sporty car under 35K pretty much trumps the Z IMHO. Not that the Z is a bad car, but I think the others are beter. Maybe this is also an admission that they couild have built a sport compact out of the JUKE, and used Rouge to gain mid level SUV sales.
  5. For a second I thought you were going to say it was GM's response to the Scion IQ and the Smart car....and I was going to cry... LOL...thanks for posting this.
  6. From everything I've seen, the ST seems to be a fantastic car...now we just need history to repeat itself. On Sept 12, 1966, we were given the Camaro.... Maybe on Sept 12 2013 GM will have a nice little surprise for us?
  7. I just wish I were poor enough for a new BMW 3 series.... Cause then I could go buy a CTS!
  8. Turbo Verano sounds like a lot of fun!
  9. I'd expect a mild bump in hp after its out a bit... but this is a bit of a rabbit trail, pun not intended. This will realty help vee dub move cars, I think. If nothing else the better fuel economy will help in an era or $4 a gallon gasoline..
  10. I like the philosophy of winning buyers at the lower level, it makes a lot of sense....and then moving them up....
  11. The interior is really pleasant, overall design not so much. Question for W.M.....given the choice between this and the Odyssey, whoich do you prefer?
  12. They were a very well built car for the era...and Ford had a very good reputation as a builder of the "Tin Lizzie" cheap depoendable cars you could drive to work every day. Thy were the Kia of that era, methinks.
  13. Sounds like some of the same majic I found when I drove the Verano is present in the Caddy as well. Glad they liked the brakes, as I felt that was really a strong point again of the Verano also. GM seems to be doing just kick A$$ quality control and design work on interiors lately...I love how well assembled modern GM cars are on the inside. I'm especially grateful to see a quality automotive publication point this out...for awhile, I thought it was just me. Now if GM can just push this same magic into the next Camaro, we may see another GM car in my driveway. GLAD TO SEE GM doing this well with their product....
  14. Wow...that is tempting....NICE truck.
  15. I don't think people will notice it but...yeah a few extra HP would be really nice.
  16. Agreed. http://www.tirerack.com/features/motorsports/street_survival.jsp IIRC you have daughters, forget how old they are. I suggested this street survival thing to Balthazar for his son....I am going to have my 16 year old daughter take this course at some point.
  17. Yeah, I didn't like that...but cool they rebuilt a totaled vehicle that might have been parted out and crushed otherwise.
  18. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/double-sided-68-camaro-look-more-twice-194433300.html?cache=clear This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible was built at the State Farm Vehicle Research Facility as a half-and-half “Jekyll and Hyde” car for training purposes and PR display. The driver’s side of the car is a high-quality restoration to correct factory-stock specs. The passenger side is a customized street machine with lots of flashy aftermarket parts and custom bodywork, but deliberately less-exacting craftsmanship. In addition to serving as an eye-catching car-show display piece, this car was built by State Farm employees who love their cars, enjoy restoring cars and have fun working on cars both personally and professionally. This 1968 Camaro is being used to educate State Farm field agents on the special challenges of assigning proper values to collector cars and owner-modified vehicles. This knowledge enables the agents to accurately assess value and correctly underwrite such special-case vehicles.
  19. I would agree with you, sir!
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gQVhcBeklLQ Yeah I am into sport compacts...but I LOVE this new advertising series from Ford. GLAD to see them getting balsey promoting their product....
  21. I like the idea of a 2.0 ecotech in it....
  22. Personally, as far as small cars go, I'd prefer an Ariel Atom V8....lots of fun 0-140, not just 0-40.
  23. Would be perfect for a weekend trip to the track....watch the races and then sleep in the back of the thing,. I like it.
  24. Which would make it much more fun to drive, methinks.
