VW News: What Is The Timeline For Next Golf?
They did. And we can't have it: They did. And we can't have it: ...and ironically...I would have traded in the Miata for this rather than buying the MINI Cooper S had the Socorro been available. VW screwed themselves out of one sale (me and the Mrs) by not having this available stateside...

Industry News: Tesla Considers Increasing Production Of The Model S
They need to straighten out their production problems first, then increase production. I do hope they make it, I am a huge fan of Elon musk....

The Cool, odd and unusual car pics thread...
It's a fantastic looking car, and further evidence that the U automakers have gotten their mojo back. Love the pics in blue, thanks for posting them.

Dodge Dart Review
It's a nice car...but trust me, the build quality on the Verano I drove was eleventy billion times better. And agree with Dfelt, there is no excuse for poor build quality.

Long Roof Racing
I love it. I remember lots of wagons being raced as a kid... Now if I was only into drag racing rather than road racing and auto cross, I'd be a set....

Listen carefully
Maybe in some areas, but I never see those around... I see very few GM models in day-to-day traffic that are older than 10-15 years old.. It is funny but I even saw 2 different Citations in the last week. Barretta's are very common and they may not be pretty but they keep on running. I saw even saw a beat up Pace car one Saturday. Most old GM cars are the choice for winter beaters or first cars for high school kids. They are easy to find, cheap and easy to repair and keep on running and running. The guy I work with has a Grand Am that is on the original engine and tranny and will hit 300,000 this fall. Now keep in mind that we also live in the snow belt of ohio where they even salt the road when the sun is out and they are clear. On the other hand it is rare to see any Asian cars older than 12 years old. Most have rotted away or were more expensive to fix than they were worth. An very old Honda here is rare. Exactly.... And while I like Miatas and such... There are older Asian cars that seem to hold up around here though. Older Celicas were built like tanks. But then again, Toyota cheapened the product. We were pretty much given a 92 Celica for my son to drive (actually, one of his friends died and we kind of "inherited the car, sadly...). Amazing how much better built that thing is than the xB my wife bought is... And other than the Miata and a few Subies, most of the Asian stuff I agree is rather lightly built. I'm not even seeing very many first gen Mazda threes around here, and they are way newer than Beretta's...

JULY 2012 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD!!!
I would agree, except here, a '74 Monte is certainly not rare. Chevy built 312K of them. • • • In a weird alignment of the planets, I saw -all today- AMC Pacer X, spotless, yellow with the factory mags, rolling, AMC Spirit 2-dr, dark blue, extremely dusty, on flatbed AMC Eagle 4-dr, 4WD, rolling. I think he was referring to the W31 Olds he was talking about, sir. Black Ferrari 360 was parked next to my work truck when I came out after a service call Saturday night.

Agreed. GM is building better, but everyone in the market is building better. GM convincing the naysayers will be their biggest challenge. And on luxury cars the badge matters, sometimes more than the car behind it. Nope, if that was the case Lexus would not have had foothold and now stronghold in USA. Perceptions, Perceptions, Perceptions. Agreed on that!

Okay, sometimes you drive me nuts here, and I just made a sarcastic comment about you in another thread but... I am also a fellow traveler with you. I feel your pain...I really do. I've owned more GM cars than non GM cars. right now I own two GM trucks, a Mazda (Miata) a BMW (MINI Cooper S) a Toyota (Orign gen Scion xB). Need to buy another car next year, maybe two. son is out of school and drives the XB, and the Miata is possibly going to undergo modification to be more of a track car...and is also showing its age. It is an 02, so I can relate to replacing an 01 Aurora. I too am looking at the Genesis, but alas the 2.0T Coupe. I do like the 4 door Genesis, and think you will be well served by it. And yes, I do know GM also has a long history of building crappy cars as well as good ones. One of the hardest things to me is keeping an open mind both for and against GM when looking at a car. We thought long and hard about a Camaro when we bought the MINI Cooper S, but ultimately (obviously) rejected the idea. Good luck to you, smk as you look for your next car... and may the best car win. At least your not in my boat....I'm thinking BRZ/FRS which has its own issues...
