They are eating the lunch of Toyota and Honda...breaks my heart. Optima is a good car, and Kia Forte Koup is a billion times nicer than Scion TC...so we'll see what happens.

I'm going to have to drive the Miata to Philly to personally kick your butt for falling for the Dodge power wagon, even if it is totally out of this world awesome. But I liked the Camino best, followed by the Chevy and Ford full size. There are two of us who like the camino best....

The new Volvo's have been rated very well in reviews, but we will have to agree to disagree. A new Jag will be a pricey option if you choose it. And I really like the new CTS better than the old one....different strokes for different folks. I am not a luxury car kind of a guy, I prefer performance and handling myself. Good luck to you sir.

Nissan News: Rumorpile: Nissan GT-R's Future In Question
Exactly...and while the car is hugely fast, it isn't anywhere near as reliable or easy to wrench on as a Corvette C6, it's largest competitor here. I think a lot of performance cars are going to go away....

2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5 SE
If yopu count SEAt and Skoda and the Chinese brands they own, by some counts they are almost already #1. So long as they keep building the good ole GTI and Goldf diesel in Germany, and keeping the quality up on them, I won't mind too much. Sort of the same thing as Porsche building 4 doors so they can stay alive to build the Cayman and the 911....

I've rebuilt carbs before, they came out fine... give it a try!

Nissan Sentra
Maxx is a great car, sorry again your having problems. LOVE the 64 Galaxy design, one of my fav. big fords!

Nissan Sentra
Sorry to hear the Malibu Maxx is giving you issues. If your going to buy a foreign car though....and don't want GM...take a look at the "Euro" Ford Focus. Great build quality, domestic, and will run circles around a Sentra in terms of design and build quality. Not even on the same planet close... And by Euro focus I mean the one ford just came out with. I am thinking seriously about an ST version for myself at some point...NEAT car.

smk....here is a word of brotherly advice... If your interested in something non GM and a little bit exotic, none of us will look down on you if you buy it. However, and this is a BIG however...set aside extra for repairs and maintenance. It's what we did when we bought our MINI. If I were worried about the most reliable car, God is my witness I would have bought a Cobalt SS. Actually, we still may buy a Cobalt SS Turbocharged, as I would like to put another American car in the stable to go with the Asian and Euro car. But seriously, if you want a Jag that bad, just go buy the damned thing. Just be ready to spend when it needs $$$$ Oh ok. The Malibu seems like a refresh of the current, even if they did change a lot under the skin. And I like many other cars in that segment more. The Impala having only to deal with the Avalon, Taurus and perhaps Dodge/Chrysler rear drivers should have more success. The ATS I think will hit the right spot also, as long as the inside isn't too small. The German trio pretty much own that segment, the ATS can rocket right past Lexus, Acura, Volvo, Infiniti, etc. Again, I respectfully disagree. Volvo is wildly under rated as a car maker, and they have improved their quality and design. I would buy a Volvo before I'd buy a BMW.

2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5 SE
Absolutely...like BMW they have sold their soul on the alter of pure volume, and they are as bland as Mazda in their current product lineup. The newer VW sedans are actually crushing the previous models in sales for one particular reason: They're less expensive. The newer VW sedans are actually crushing the previous models in sales for one particular reason: They're less expensive. This is true, and for people who don't care much about what they drive, and who will trade out before the thing is out of warranty...not a bad choice.

Good luck! Several years ago, when I was buying the Miata I was also thinking about building a mildly modified S-10. Looked at a second gen S-10 that was that color....neat truck. Keep us posted, dude!
