  1. Life is too short to drive boring vehicles. I didn't know you were of the rearward persuasion...I always thought you were probably more of a breast man of leg man myself.
  2. Wrangler is a lot cooler vehicle IMHO...but either way...I think you'll find what you are looking for in a Jeep.. I knew the darn Cruze would not be around for long...
  3. People will bitch about anything, and around here Subies are super hot in terms of desirability-people wanting to own them.
  4. Being on a jury can be fun or interesting... I don't mind donating time for that kind of gov't work.
  5. Sounds like they were stoned to me! Smaller cars often fare worse in fuel economy...and since fewer people want them, they are not as profitable, hence the higher price. Sonic has no interest for me, actually. And the resale value...they loose a lot compared to a Civic. Bigtime. Not to mention real world safety and fuel economyh are much worse than a Civic.
  6. Still haven't had time to check one out..I would love to!
  7. With the amount of junk in your barn you pretty much could turn the jag into the next 007 special effects car and make a bundle renting to movie companies. Good luck on the rebuild and keep us posted.
  8. We had this happen at a Pizza resteraunt when I was a kid in Stevens Point Wisconsin. Guy had a blue Monte Carlo and was trying to repair it...kept telling his wife to rev the motor...she had her foot on the brake and the car in drive...the poor Monte and the poor guy (still under the hood) went through the pizzeria. He lived but was pretty effed up.
  9. We need a list of automakers that just need to give up, die and go away. Saab, Mitsubishi, Suzuki (although yes the Kisashi is a hell of a car), in a few years actually MINI will have outlived its usefulness and profitability.... Does the word Titanic have any meaning to you? And actually that's not even totally fair...a better example would be the Lusitania, which went down in 14 minutes.
  10. they do nothing constructive and have nothing better do to. We need to be more like Europe IMHO> This is partly true. That sounds horrible....actually
  11. Do you really think so...or are you being sarcastic?
  12. Trickle up reform? I don't think so, Tim. A few thousand guppies aren't going to turn the Queen Mary around. I cannot afford to donate my time to Gov't projects for free, and I would never trust a 'tax for work' agreement written up by DC lawyers. However, I will do evil for cash. • • • Here's what happened; There used to be 3 broadcast news outlets with limited daily shows, so the 'pie' was cut into 3 huge slices. Now there are 40,000 news outlets, 24/7, and partisan broadcasting works really well, so every outlet filters their output.... in order to fight for their 1/40,000 slice of the pie. 'Objectivity? SNORT!- who still believes news is about the news? Unfortunately, I am going to have to lay the blame of rampant subjectivity in the media at the doorstep of Technology. • • • How exactly has refrigeration been used for evil in the past? Do tell.... As for refrigeration being used for evil, I think you might have to look for experiments in a concentration camp. As for Technology making partisan broadcasting easy, your absolutely effing right. I would like to donate time in a well managed deal like Habitat for Humanity or something....and yes gov't layers could eff up anything.
  13. Its my understanding that only certain tanks have to be replaced every ten years. As for more expensive per comparable energy rate, I have to disagree. Its being sold near me for 2.35 GGE, gasoline gallon equivalent. Even if I do lose 10% on top of that, I'm still ahead compared to 3.50 for a gallon of gas. Plus the reduced maintenance costs. In Utah, its 0.85 GGE, due to massive subsidies. This idea is definitely doable...and would work much better I think with modern motors with very close tolerances. I wish! ...until someone claimed mineral rights and started blasting to get the stuff. You would have to turn Arkus loose on them.
  14. You've been eating too many lead paint chips. Tell us something we don't already know....
  15. I had a friend with one of those in college. His name was Mike. Good guy, but he grew up helping his mother run the family business, a woman's clothing and accessory store. He was straight, but not terribly aggressive in some ways. Car suited him perfectly...actually, he was/is a great guy, and was one of my best friends in College. Oh, and yes...there is a 73ish Grand Am that is female owned, one owner, that shows up at car shows around here once in awhile. It's cleaner than most cars on a new car showroom...I think of you every time I see that old Poncho, actually.
  16. That really sucks, dude...esp as hard as guys like you and I and Camino work with our bodies. You will be in my thoughts....I've been thinking 59 Lincoln flower car and 57 Pontiac Star Chief thoughts all day... Although personally I like the 55 Pontiac better, and would prefer a plain two door hardtop 1960 Lincoln. Actually I think it was 57 that Lincoln Paced the 500...THAT is the vintage Lincoln I want...you KNOW my passion for RWD rag tops.
  17. or Vice-versa. This is more like Daimler destroying Chrysler. At least Suzuki wised up before VW had a chance to take all the pieces it wanted while giving nothing in return. What pieces of Suzuki did VW even want? I would be really surprised if VW wanted a big piece of the JDM, actually. They already sell an assload of cars in China...why do they need Japan?
  18. She should be sweet when done!
  19. Jeep FTW!
  20. I'd love to see this thing saved... along with the flower car!
  21. ...and I'd love to own a 57 Super Chief Catalina... I just really love the 68-72 A bodies.
  22. Thanks!
  23. Spotted a nice green two door wrangler with a soft top at a local dealership with your name on it, blu...
