Opportunity rises...
In a velvet painting of Elvis sort of way...yes...I can agree with you. As real art, I will take the flower car. See if you can swap work on his home for the vehicle...I've gotten lots of good deals that way over the years. Of course, New Jersey taxes would then make it as expensive as a Bugatti Veyron, but it's a shame you have to (by the law) pay taxes on work when you barter.

I actually like the T and C, as I am a convertible fanatic...and while I am not a huge fanboi, the T and C is a great MINI van...

Comparing sizes
Trucks are often easier to insure as they are easier to fix...at least that's what my state farm agent told me.

Cadillac XTS Struts Its Stuff At LA
People with that much money to spend will probably buy something like an Audi T, a Boxster, a Corvette, a BMW M3, or something if they want a performance car. I like the CTS a whole lot...my main gripe is the lack of rear seat room for a car of its price and size. Willing to give the Xtra Too Sexy as blu calls it a fair shake...I think it might be worthwhile. ...and I am going to incur some C and G hate for this, but I think Cadillac got the styling dead nuts on with this one. Very clean. A thumbs up from me!

Spying: Lincoln MKS
It surely beats the Acura dashboards with their complexity...or the fake Star-ship Enterprise feel of the new Fiesta, Focus, Civic, et al.

Cheers or Jeers: Custom 1990 Chrysler LeBaron
Or perhaps the ultimate automotive abortion...a Chrysler Lebaron cut up and made into a tasteless copy of an SCCA road racer...no windshield, slicks at all four corners....rollcage...numbers on it...

Cheers or Jeers: Custom 1990 Chrysler LeBaron
Classics: '56 Packard. What a strange way to evoke a '57 Chrysler, by using iconic tails from a completely different car. The only bits worth saving on it. Actually, a couple of pieces like this could go in a museum of American cars...just to show the depths of depravity of American car culture. This is just creative enough as junk to make it worth saving....just like putting that picture of Elvis in the Louvre next to a piece of real art...for discussion purposes.... Jeepney Image.... ...and actually...we should do a C and G design challenge to see who can come up with the most interesting take on trashing a 90 LeBaron ragtop. My take...fake copy of a 64 T Bird Roadster...with the headrests...

Cheers or Jeers: Custom 1990 Chrysler LeBaron
It's almost like the Rocky Horror picture show or Spinal Tap...so tasteless that its almost cool in a really trailer trashy sort of way...kind of like a well done picture of Elvis on black velvet. Sort of like I've always wanted to have sex with a really trailer trashish woman....scratch that...maybe I don't want this car after all... But creative warp your mind junk...you gotta give credit to WMJ for finding the stuff... It almost remind me of a Filipino Jeepney, actually...

Idiotic driving mistakes you have made in the last couple of years...
My worst two- Taking the Miata down my favorite exit ramp (marked 25 MPH) at 73 miles per hour after I pulled off the shaved autocross tires and put on all seasons...one VERY impressive four wheel drift at high speed about two weeks ago. Would have hated to call the insurance company back... Was driving to work about two years ago, took the Miata...which was a mistake, as it was a level two snow emergency. Good looking thirty something blonde in a Hyundai Tiberon wanted to race me, for some unknown reason i raced her...not thinking that this time I DID have the shaved autocross tires (read-slicks on all 4 corners during a blizzard)...had about three car lengths pulled on her just as we came upon what is usually an Ohio highway patrol speed trap at almost 100 miles per hour...I got slowed down real fast when i realized how stupid I had been. Put the Blizacks on the Miata when I got home from work. Come, come, do tell on yourselves.

Balthazer-your son is into guitars, my son is into guitars, we are both into old cars. I have been wanting to find and excuse for a new Jersey road trip for a long time...I think this Lincoln just might be the ticket should you get it.

Opel/Vauxhall News: Why Hello Opel/Vauxhall Astra OPC/VXR
If Gm wants to win my business from VW or Honda or Volvo or MINI for my next car...they need this thing here. Hopefully before next summer, when I plan to replace the Wife's ex bee or (gasp) the Miata.

Cars you like but no one else here likes;
BMW 1 Series Civic SI OF course, Miata Honda S2k Boxster I'm actually also nuts about the HHR panel I am crazy about midsize Buick, 68-72, esp. Convertibles. What are some cars that you all like that no one else here does?

Cars you like but no one else here likes;
The rules of this thread...we need to name as many cars that we personally are crazy about that no one else at C and G is wild about. people may like them okay or hate them... but we need to find as many cars, oddball or not, that we are the only people who are nuts about them. Here is my list- I love the 1953 Ford, last of the Flatheads, and even paced the Indy 500 that year. I've ALWAYS wanted one of these since I was a kid, but have never had the chance to own one... http://www.chicagoclassiccars.com/inventory_show.asp?stknum=3334 71-72 Ford LTD ragtop...I think Moltie likes these, but he and I are probably the only ones... http://www.chicagoclassiccars.com/inventory_show.asp?stknum=3355

The Bitch, Moan and Whine thread...
Most GM cars run poorly longer than most cars run at all. Car and Driver said it, and it is wildly true. Sounds like EXCITEMENT...maybe you and Vipes can get together.

The car Angst Thread....
Dude, the new Wrangler has the really neat updated V6, and the new Grand Cherokee is probably the hotest vehicle in its segment...what are you waiting for? You can laugh but I see some really well done J bodies floating around. You should follow up on this idea. Start by going to Tire Racks website and checking out some nice plus one wheel and tire packages, and think about a set of Koni FSD shocks. Please do post about this when you have time. Don't let the past whinging about W bodies keep you from posting what you have done and where you have been with your beasties. Also, the Cruze front end styling is really growing on me, in some ways I like it better than the Verano.

Comparing sizes
IMHO the Liberty just trumps the subie to no end...and would also be a much better car for you than the wrangler. Keep us posted dude...I have serious car angst as well, as I am ready to be rid of the wife's Scion xB

The car Angst Thread....
Everyone here seems to be thinking about a change of fleet. Camino is looking slowly at getting a better work truck, Balthazar is wanting that nifty Lincoln Flower car, Olds is looking for a car for Albert and a truck for his rental business, Dave 87 RS is thinking about a Cruze, Satty's wife is thinking about a Volvo, Roger wants a Truck, Ocean would be wanting another car if he had Jay Leno's garage, and I'm missing half the Forum. This thread could be pinned for awhile if Olds wants...but I would like to see if we could get a good discussion going on what we are all actually doing with changes to the C and G fleet. As for me...I have checked out and or driven a bunch of cars lately, including... RX8 Firebird Mach 1 (2003) VW GTI VW TDI Fiat 500 Hyundai Veloster Ford Focus Ford Fiesta Ford Mustang v6 Ford Mustang GT Camaro (2010) MINI Cooper S Ford Fusion Pontiac G6 retractable hardtop Coupe Honda Accord Coupe Civic SI Coupe Acura TSX Honda CRZ I plan on writing some C and G drives...but I am seriously ready to be rid of the wife's 2005 Scion XB, which now has 171,000 miles and is getting due for replacement. So What is up with everyone else? Regfootballs test drive gene has taken over, I am afraid. But I have two daughters going away to college uin the next two years, my oldest son has moved out...and I am ready for a less family oriented car once again.
