  1. I think the idea has merit, and I wish we would have discussed this back in the day.
  2. People at Honda are worried. Talked to a very honest Honda salesman the other day. Ridgeline is tanking or tanked, Fit has lost a ton of real world resale value, Acura has lost its luster, the new Hybrid Sports car is not well received, (CRZ) neww Civic is outlcassed in real world to the Cruze and the Focus. Honda has some legit worrying to do. GM quality has done nothing but (thankfully) go up over the last decade.
  3. My street viewis five or six years old. You can scroll around to see the old GMC Van and the Red Mazda MX6 in the driveway...both of which I've sold to friends about five years ago and both of which are still on the road. Try 9345 Wingate Place, Orient Ohio. I can't get the image to post...trees are MUCH larger now...doesn't even really look like the same street.
  4. It's the Jeep you need to man up and buy for yourself, sir. This photograph is from an alternate reality where that has already happened.
  5. Fantastic car, in another life time I would like to be born back in the 50's to enjoy some of these when they were around everywhere.
  6. I see a bunch of them here, but the car is really under powered from what I understand. Still, a neat little car...
  7. Indeed its not.
  8. I'm gonna give this thing a far shake, but methinks Toyota cheapness and a lack of attention to detail will kind of kill it for me... Not sure I like the final version of the styling either...they made it too bulky and odd at the last minute IMHO>
  9. Agreed...I pretty much have decided AGAINST a MINI as one of my next cars for that very reason... Maybe they will build a RWD V8 variant for Camino and Balthy, eh?
  10. There is no such thing as a free automotive market anywhere on the planet... Look at Japan and the strings and loopholes they have...or Europe...or third world countries. I am sure you could drive what you want in Somalia, but interesting car dealerships are rare there because they seem to have a rather free market in guns ansd ammo
  11. In some ways...you and I are so much alike. And in other so much different. Seeing this makes me want to think of driving it with an old 59 Vette on a trailer behind, headed for the track Circa 1962. I can't imagine wanting this thing for myself. I'd much rather have a garden variety four door convertible from the sixties if we are talking Lincoln, thakyouverymuch. Best of luck to you sir. I think you just assigned yourself the job of cleaning out the cesspool in the C and G dungeon for life with that post, sir!
  12. I am feeling sick also...thankfully I have a scheduled day off of work tomorrow for a doctors appointment... LOTS of automotive stuff around here has closed, including car lots, machine shops, high performance fabricators, etc.
  13. Try working earlier in the day....
  14. I am with you, 'blu. I went to the Toyota dealer across the street from my alignment shop Sunday when I was getting the Miata li8ned back up after its little mishaps. I had driven a used GTI (Sunroof, DSG, Black on black, 2008, nice) at the local Lexus dealership Saturday. Tried to talk myself into test driving a Scion TC, if for no other reason to put something in C and G drives. Couldn't work up the courage to ask for the keys. The car felt so agricultural (good choice of words on your part, IMHO) compared to the GTI and the Civic SI that it almost made me ill to sit in the damn thing. Ughhh. We've been talking about the new Scion FRS in other forums here. If the TC is ANY indication of the luv Yota will put into thew FRS...CAll me a GM or VW or MAZDA customer any day. I actually thought of you when I looked at a Tacoma that was next to the TC in the showroom...and was hoping that you wouldn't go THAT direction. Eighty five bucks for insurance to drive what you want....are you stoned? That is SO CHEAPO to get the ride you want..hell...most of the members here spend more than that in Wax and die cast replicas....
  15. Oddly enough love the Olds of the Era, but not the Pontiac so much...the GP is a sweet car, but not my thing as it were.
  16. Our media has to change...we give both Democrats and Republicans too much of a pass. We need both good old fashioned muck racking and good old fashioned journalism, where we get the news without bias. Not a bad idea...I would love to use my electrical or refrigeration talents if they would be able to be harnessed for good.
  17. MMM...Apple is my fav.... About what I thought,....
  18. Fix main street and you will fix WHO we send to DC....it is a long process. I really think we are becoming an idiocracy....I was sitting at a bar in a restaurant eating lunch the other day and the guy next to me is ranting about how the whole economic collapse was caused by Bill Clinton loaning black people money to build million dollar homes in the ghetto.... Our whole culture, Liberal, conservative, whatever...is devoid of any form of reality when they walk into the voting booth IMHO.
  19. I dream too... I think you would be happier with a smaller truck...something like a Jeep TJ Wrangelr, an S-10, or (you won't hear me say this) a clean used Ranger. Lower payment, better fuel economy, and you won't be afraid to get it dirty.
  20. Good, VW needs to cut loose of the dead weight of Suzuki if it is going to thrive!
  21. That certainly isn't the fault of Toyota... So does Rosanne Bar in a shower...your point is? In all seriousness, both the Genesis Coupe and FR-S are not bad looking cars... But I find other small cars on the market more attractive...GTI FTW!
  22. Hope it all melts away!
  23. I think that I am a lot less likely to buy a GM car now than two and a half years ago. Solstice is dead, the Astra tanked, the Cobalt SS/TC is dead..HHR SS is dead... What they build that I really liked, they have stopped building.
  24. Good luck with her...I am hoping for a coolant hose (heater hose) rather than a cracked block or something major. People are such asshats in public parking lots.... Today my father is 72 and alive...I need to call him. THANKS! As I was driving past the Lexus dealership the other day, it sounded like someone forgot to put motor oil in after an oil change. Very loud, very nasty noise came forth as the car pulled out of the lot...not good for the owner of that Lexus!
