  1. Actually, since most SUV's and MINIvans have a rear hatch...we just dirve Burger King ish super sized hatch backs....hatch backs that match American butt sizes perhaps?
  2. The Evo is much less user firendly, and much more of a niche car...also costs twice as much almost... About 22K for a base MINI S and about what...37-42K for whatever version of the evo they are selling now? I don't think all of their products are bad, and yes, I know they work for some people. But...ughhhhh...I don't like much of the current lineup of either one. And sorry, reg, didn't mean to sound offensive but...ughhh...I just can't stand Suzuki.
  3. The 370 Z is a cool vehicle but...Nissan has been trying to out Toyota Toyota in what they are doing... Altima has got to be about the most bland midsized car, and the Sentra has to be the worst compact available.
  4. Considering how long it's been paid for, and other than the drivers seat....you've been pretty lucky. Glad to hear Mr Liberty blue will be back on the road soon....
  5. I don't know that a ton of gasolene tax will do good...although I would like to see a slightly higher tax used to repair rotted bridges, tunnels, and so forth.... And Americans have very different needs than Europeans. Like I said, I just came back from a football game...we live just outside of Columbus, but down here in Pickaway County it's farm country...people need and want trucks, SUV's, and MINIvans. Change the fuel, not what we drive.
  6. Depends on the Americans....the new GTI/Golf is up in sales, and the GTI is a verysuccessful niche model vehicle. People will want idfferent things in cars...as an advocate of the free market, what is wrong with a free market that gives us the GTI, Cooper S, CTS, 3 series, Fusion, Escalade, Focus, Charger, and a bunch of other wonderful product. Why the heck are people so threatened by small cars? And why would we want to force familes to drive vehicles they won't fit into. Just came back from an 8th grade football game with my son daniel...lots of familes at the game driving MINI vans, Pick em ups and SUV's. IMHO let the market do it's work, provide alternative fuels, and let us have great product for as long as we want it.
  7. A cool phantom would be indeed just that...a buick with a Vista Cruiser style roof, but do it with a 70-72 midsized Buick.
  8. Too bad that the old Cutlass Vista Cruiser wagons are now so uncommon, I always thought the 70-72 Cutty Vista Cruiser, or even the 68-69 version, was just the cat's ass as far as wagons went.
  9. Bingo on Chevy fighting like Hyundai fights, my friend.
  10. Reg is our resident apologist for Suzuki and Mitsubishi. Apparently he likes sharing the road with cars that make his cobalt look like a Bentley when it comes to features, quality, and styling. 11. Around here, the Sonota is a really hot car. A bunch of people in my neighborhood have bought them. Genesis coupe seems to be outselling Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger combined. (seems to be, although I know the actual numbers are different.)
  12. Kizashi is also made by a brand that may soon be leaving us shores, and isn't as fuel efficient as a Cruze. Given a choice, I think I'd take a Cruze over a Kisashi, but a Focus or a GTI over wither the Kisashi or the cruze. And if Vee dub pulls it's head out of it's arse and gets the HPFP issues taken care of with the TDI...ding ding ding, we will have a winner. Hmmm...that means I could buy a Genesis coupe for about 13K. Interesting.... Mother Theresa is in a lot of ways not that good.... Actually....I really liked the 85 Cavalier type 10 coupe that I owned. five speeds and lots of fun. Depends on what you mean by affordable small cars....
  13. I hope! One of the last really cool RWD American cars... I hope! One of the last really cool RWD American cars...
  14. As one of my friends said after a wild ride in my 55 Chevy (back when I had it)...now we are runnin under GM power, boys.... You no like?
  15. The Shagin wagon lives! Wish I had the cash to buy that thing and give it a nice home in Ohio....
  16. Welcome to C and G!
  17. Congrats on the Fusion. It is growing on me all of the time! Ford is doing a fantastic job...and yes...blu...after watching you buy your truck...I am now seeing a fullsize truck in my future. The new F150 power plants only make that seem all that much more desirable. Awesome stuff! I really like the Gm diesels though. Were I to buy a diesel truck, I would love a GMC work truck in diesel....
  18. Ya know reg...I am fairly progressive, or even downright liberal. but what the UK wants to do seems downright diabolical.
  19. 59 was a neat year for Pontiac....sigh... Guess THOSE says are gone forever...thanks for the pics anyhow....
  20. It's a love hate relationship with all ve dub fans, methinks. I know a couple of VW guru's who can fix anything VW and electrical related.... Sounds logical to me....
  21. Bingo...you would be correct, sir. Talked to a guy yesterday that sells Hyundai's. He said he's sold one manual tranny car in eleven years.
  22. I could really see you owning 1 car and one truck. And as regfootball said...your spot on in your review, vipes.
  23. This will help me get out the good news of C and G to people I know on facebook...
