  1. They make aftermarket frames for Tri-Fives...with all of the goodies attached if you wish. Sedan delivery is still the 55 I want though...
  2. Last question...and I can alredy tell you the answer is NO, Does any carmaker have a nicer set of cranberry/maroon colors than GM?
  3. I'm wondering how much it would cost to create the stampings for just a few nomad pices so that one could be built from a 4 door sedan. They've already got enough pieces to build a ragtop from a 4 door...why not a Nomad? Chris
  4. Me too... Sadly, I rarely see most of the cool old RWD stuff anymore. Even seeing a third or 4th gen F body is starting to become a minor event around here... Chris
  5. Glad she's still on the road, Roger!
  6. I have nothing against certain FWD cars...GTI...TDI Golf...MINI Cooper S...et al. But yah...RWD is the thing for going fast. Would have enjoyed the pic even more if it was a Z0k Solstice in the twisties....THAT's my idea of RWD!
  7. Speaking of phantoms...I've always wanted to do a sedan delivery based on a nomad or a Safari... That would be cool...as a 60's drag car with slicks and a solid front axle...as a resto look car that should have "come from the factory" that way...as a modern pro touring style car, slammed, with an LS series motor... Chris
  8. One can only hope.... Don't really think Nissan makes any cars I'm that crazy about...
  9. Hopefully you don't give up on your dream...
  10. Nice "kill" story, Olds!
  11. bee...that's a feature...it's a green truck...it's biodegradeable...
  12. A BUNCH of them did, back in the day. Whiteknight would be really upset if he could go back in time with me to my old yard in Muncie, Indiana. Perhaps a Dozen nearly new or only a couple year old TA's, wrecked and being parted...some of them quite rebuildable....all of them headed for the crusher. I remember one red TA's roof caving in under my feet as I crawled over the TA to get a part off of another car... And that other car was a 57 Chevrolet two door, I kid you not. AMAZING the cars I've seen in Junkyards, from Bentley's to Studebaker Avanti's. Sad, really. But LOTS of Birds died in my (my meaning the one I went to, not one I owned) yard back in the day...
  13. On another forum they had pics of a Kia minivan made into a Phaeton like touring car, with a very long and awkward convertible top. ughhh...most home built rebuilds...But I did see one VERY professionally done 55 chev Nomad into an El camino vehicle...didn't look half bad.... Chris
  14. That would be a new use for a Vocal GPS, as the mullet would be on the front. Annoying female voice "Blind Camino Driver, left in two hundred yards....one hundred yards...you have contacted a mailbox....you have contacted a parked car....you have contacted a curb..."
  15. The 80's J cars were cool! One of my fav. cars was an 85 chev Cavalier 5 speed coupe...NEAT little car...and probably why I'm so addicted to the idea of sport compacts now. GM spoiled me with that car! Chris
  16. Work and save income! Chris
  17. He'll need the inside trunk release so that he can show off the 12's and 15's in the back...
  18. Good things come to those with cash. Save, then buy. Chris
  19. Backseat comfort for adults?
  20. I actually think GM is going to sell fewer cars and trucks as it focuses on building better ones. Keep in mind, for years, they sold a crapwad of cars. Fiero at its worst sold more than Miata at its best...Acura dold something like 60,000 Integras a year while Pontiac Sold 250,000 Grand Am's...etc. The 3 series sells fewer cars because it is a premium car and an aquired taste. The same thing willhappen with GM. the cars will be more expensive, but they will be everything that they should be, and the owners will love the vbehicles becuase of that. Thus, I agree with Oldsmoboi...Nissan better worry about GM, because they are a comin with the product...
  21. Interested to hear the rest of what you think. Agree on the 2.5, the only VW gasser to get is the GTI IMHO, with the 2.0T. And then again, nothing in the segment is perfect. Chris
  22. How is a hairless woman supposed to make me feel better about buying an inferior automotive product?
  23. You guys forget that Camino, balthazar and myself, amoung others here make our living driving trucks every day. A truck that doesn't get the job done means we don't eat. Amoung 98% of the blue collar guys I know, Toyota trucks are an absolute sad joke, as is the Nissan Titan. The FJ Cruiser isn't taken seriously amoung any of the guys I know...and lots of guys in souther Ohio 4 wheel. When toyota can build a truck we can take seriously, call me. Until then...they can crush the Tundras and make them into beer cans for all I care. Chris
  24. Gee...big suprise...I'm all the way to the left...and almost all the way libertarian. The only thing I answered in a more conservtive note was the idea that children should sometimes be spanked. But I hit the bottom left corner on the chart. Chris Amazingly, George W Bush is a polar opposite to me...who would ahve thought that...and I am actually more liberal than the Dali Lama and Nelson Mandela...who would have thought that?
  25. ...and one serious question...not to be offensive...but are you sober when your posting this? Chris
