  1. Balthazar will think we are nuts, but I agree on the R32 dude. but then again I do like the dusey better than the Lambo... ...and one of the best ways to get sound track is to work corners at an SCCA event...ever be 15 feet from the track when 50 cars come by at 130 miles an hour?
  2. hmmm...guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. But please tell me that you are a fan of the early second gen split bumper cars...
  3. More than one old brit car wound up on a flat bed on that trip..but that MGA in the pics hung right with us. We were running down a twisty road at 75++ through 25 MPH curves and the MG was right on our butt...however the drivers face was a little white...
  4. At the last auto cross got to ride along in a VR6 GTI...I would agree on the sound of that...
  5. Interesting how the side impact air bags open up so quickly...
  6. Yes, Ohio river. I keep hoping that you will come back to Ohio so that we can add to the 63K your 'stang has on it now. In our second group we traveled with, there was a nice, nice Mustang GT convertible of the same era as yours, red, white interior...I kept thinking of you every time I saw the Mustang, Cubical/Rob...
  7. Not going to post a you tube link, because you almost have to actually be in the car to feel it...but I like the ford Modular V8's, esp. with a turbo or supercharger added. And Balthazar, I've heard the 427 vintage drag raced in a Thunderbolt replica....very...very impressive.
  8. When I was in college, the guy who lived right below me had a Ford Falcoln Sprint, nice, nice car...we used to play intermural football on the fields behind the dorms...kid comes down the road behind the dorms while we are all playing football...get's it a little sideways...pole cuts the car in two, kills him instantly, badly hurts another passenger...guy in the back seat got away with serious injuries also... Guys girlfriend was devastated...he was a good guy...which is why if I'm going to do something stupid, it's going to be on a race track with life flight, a roll cage, a fire system, a race suit, a helmet, a hans device, et al... But that could have been me in the Camaro as well...first time I was pulled over I was doing three times the speed limit...and talked my way out of it...
  9. http://jancooprn.smugmug.com/Cars/RiverRun-2010/12358111_3BFWF#883033246_8ssAE Not sure if anyone is interested, but went on a 335 mile sports car trip with my son Joel...towards the end of the third page yous see a photo of our car, with my son driving...
  10. Wonder how fast they were going???
  11. Believe me, I have thought LONG and HARD about doing this... But really...if I was going to go third gen...I think I'd like to find a genuine 1LE car...
  12. I am pretty much the same way...although my son and I just completed a 335 mile sports car trip with the MINI Club, the Miata club, and several British sports car clubs... Longest non stop was from an hour north of Indianapolis to south of Miami, Florida...my old V8, RWD Cutty and lots of caffine!
  13. Enjoy your stay here...hopefully you can get another Buick as a rental...Albert coming with you this time...?
  14. Probably going to race with the SCCA Monday at Ackerman, but I might spend the day with my wife instead. Sunday, I think we have a 500 party with the Buckeye Miata club... tomorrow...it's pull all the weeds in the yard that I didn't get last weekend and clean the house. My teenagers have their friends both male and female...sleeping over this weekend. We'll have a house full...should be interesting...
  15. True...and for their day...they weren't bad. Ideal car would be a third gen with the ls series drive train...now that...would be sweet!
  16. I love the sharper ground effect myself...there is an Early Z28 sitting in a tow yard that I pass every day on the way to work. It is an Ohio Rust bucket on its way to the crusher...but still I would love to save that car...the third gen cars to me are just so cool... Chris
  17. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs652.snc3/32231_396632649494_36766739494_4312662_1307883_n.jpg From the 24 Hours of Lemons... Notice how the third gen still looks awesome in this field of cars... Just thought I'd post...
  18. http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs612.snc3/32231_396632714494_36766739494_4312672_3043592_n.jpg Wonder if this belonged to Siegen? At the 24 Hours of lemons, a people's curse winning Honda Accord!
  19. Ohio has some stupid laws...
  20. Agree on buying new, Balthazar...
  21. The later examples with the stacked square headlights of that generation are better, as are the Cutty's and regals of the era...
  22. Sweet car, but in Columbus that thing would bring $6500 today...I am with balthy...something is up...
  23. Not fair...just when I fall in love with motorsports and the modern stuff...
