Honda built 84% of the cars it sold in 2009 in North America
Don't remind us! We're embarassed enough about Harding and a few of our misadventures in recent elections. Ohio doens't need any more shame.

Excellent point, Camino.

Don't let other peoples sarcasm (well placed, and perhaps deserved, yes) turn you away from making this thing evrything it needs to be. Keep us posted with pics! Chris

High speed + telephone pole = Bad day
Human supidity at work again. We had a MINI Cooper S driver roll her MINI convertible on tail of the dragon...with her two elementary school aged kids in the back. Balled up the car pretty good but the three of them escaped without injury for the most part. One of the local Honda guys decided to push his Prelude during a track day...no cage...no fire system...no window net...no racing suit...just a crash helmet. He balled up the Prelude into about as much of a pile a metal as that poor Camaro above! For me, if I'm going to get THAT stupid I want a dedicated track, a car full of safety equipment, and an ambulance...along with a life flight hellicopter. Doesn't hurt to have guys in white working the corners also. HANS device wouldn't be a bad idea either. Had that Camaro been raced on a track...more likely than not...he would have gone off into a tire wall or a sand pit...rebuilt the minor damage to the car...and still be racing it today. Chris

2010 Golf 2.5 and Jetta TDI test drives
I would say the GTI and the TDI sportwagen are the standouts here reg, along with as you've said the CC. Enough people are willing to spend 25K for a small car that they can build the GTI. To me, compared with te ugly 3, dated Focus, Numb sebring, Lackluster Hyundai, et al... I'll drop the coin.

Mazda December 2009
Nor will it. Amazingly, even with the ugly grill, the 3 is still oing prtty well at my local Mazda dealer.

Remember the old "good" GM days?
hmmm...they make a 70 Chevelle ragtop body....hmmm...

2010 Golf 2.5 and Jetta TDI test drives
Awaiting the rest of this reg. Agree about the base Golf steering wheel. Chris

They make aftermarket frames for Tri-Fives...with all of the goodies attached if you wish. Sedan delivery is still the 55 I want though...

This Just In: 2010 Buick Lacrosse CXS
Last question...and I can alredy tell you the answer is NO, Does any carmaker have a nicer set of cranberry/maroon colors than GM?

Remember the old "good" GM days?
I'm wondering how much it would cost to create the stampings for just a few nomad pices so that one could be built from a 4 door sedan. They've already got enough pieces to build a ragtop from a 4 door...why not a Nomad? Chris

Real Cars
Me too... Sadly, I rarely see most of the cool old RWD stuff anymore. Even seeing a third or 4th gen F body is starting to become a minor event around here... Chris

I've been hit!
Glad she's still on the road, Roger!

Real Cars
I have nothing against certain FWD cars...GTI...TDI Golf...MINI Cooper S...et al. But yah...RWD is the thing for going fast. Would have enjoyed the pic even more if it was a Z0k Solstice in the twisties....THAT's my idea of RWD!

Remember the old "good" GM days?
Speaking of phantoms...I've always wanted to do a sedan delivery based on a nomad or a Safari... That would be cool...as a 60's drag car with slicks and a solid front axle...as a resto look car that should have "come from the factory" that way...as a modern pro touring style car, slammed, with an LS series motor... Chris

One can only hope.... Don't really think Nissan makes any cars I'm that crazy about...

T/A
A BUNCH of them did, back in the day. Whiteknight would be really upset if he could go back in time with me to my old yard in Muncie, Indiana. Perhaps a Dozen nearly new or only a couple year old TA's, wrecked and being parted...some of them quite rebuildable....all of them headed for the crusher. I remember one red TA's roof caving in under my feet as I crawled over the TA to get a part off of another car... And that other car was a 57 Chevrolet two door, I kid you not. AMAZING the cars I've seen in Junkyards, from Bentley's to Studebaker Avanti's. Sad, really. But LOTS of Birds died in my (my meaning the one I went to, not one I owned) yard back in the day...

Remember the old "good" GM days?
On another forum they had pics of a Kia minivan made into a Phaeton like touring car, with a very long and awkward convertible top. ughhh...most home built rebuilds...But I did see one VERY professionally done 55 chev Nomad into an El camino vehicle...didn't look half bad.... Chris

That would be a new use for a Vocal GPS, as the mullet would be on the front. Annoying female voice "Blind Camino Driver, left in two hundred yards....one hundred yards...you have contacted a mailbox....you have contacted a parked car....you have contacted a curb..."
