  1. NOT a CUV fan, but these are growing on me somewhat as well. But I do like the Gold Mist Metallic better than the Mocha Steel Metallic, BTW. The Mocha Steel makes the design look a little to heavy, while the Gold Mist seems to lighten it up some. Chris
  2. I like the red one, myself, the one with 114K on it. But I agree on a flush...you may want to flush it a couple of times using cheap oil. For older motors (don't flame me, please!) I use Shell Rotella, which seems to be good oil, reasonable cost, and works fine in gasser motors as well as diesels. If nothing else, maybe the cam is wiped in the Buick motor. If everything else checks out Okay...time for a perfromance upgrade perhaps? You Buick is acting a bit like my 66 Mustang Fastback did , when the cam had issues. Change of cam and she ran great for 5 more years. Chris
  3. I like 'blu's idea. I've known people to do that...and you could control an actual under dash stereo with a remote. Seen it done in vintage cars to keep a vintage radio in the radio slot and the dash uncut...but bring in modern tunes. Chris
  4. It will be a hot car...do wish it came 6MT. Chris
  5. Reality and cars seldom go together. Really beautiful 4th gen LT-1 car went for 6k here...but had a salvage title. But it was in just amazing shape, and the accident it had been involved in had been fairly minor. It was about the same color as the Bonneville I was talking about in the other thread... SWEET car. I can see why you guys love that car that much. Chris
  6. I think closing Saturn will work well for GM, although I am sad to see it happen. Somewhere in PA not far from you is a closed Olds dealer, forget where... looks like a time capsule from the 1970's...when I drove past it I had very fond memeories of Cutty's from my youth. Chris
  7. Wish an Aurora to our Intrepid leader on his birthday! Have a good day, guy! Chris
  8. Just turned around again...to watch a 1970ish Blazer go into a lake...ouch!
  9. Kind of interesting, kind of sad. My wife and youngest daughter (christina) are sitting here watching some old movie from the 1970's. Just heard tire noise, turned around to watch the tube...and watched a 58 Chevy ragtop go over a cliff. Wild how many cars have been wrecked in movies, eh? Chris
  10. http://www.sccaforums.com/forums/thread/387381.aspx MY kind of Firebird!
  11. I would agree with you 100%, Camino. What I was sharing were my thoughts on the ideal 'bird... ..mild suspension upgrade/tuning and enjoy as is. Chris
  12. I drove the wheels off of my 66 Mustang Fastback. Drove the car over 700 miles the week before I sold it... Drove my 71 Chevelle the same way... Drove my 55 Chevrolet HARD...and it was 50 years old... Older cars can be a lot of fun. Chris
  13. Maybe... Stiffer front and rear swaybars, better shocks (Koni's perhaps), summer tires, Mobil 1 or Royal Purple in everything, cold air intake....That would be about it for me, methinks. These cars were pretty dialed in from the factory. Then again, 6 cyl Birds and Camaros are now stupid cheap. Nice cars under 80k...I've seen sell for 3K or so.... Chris
  14. Few interesting Cash for Clunkers cars coming through the local Pick-N Pull. Cadillac Allante Camaro LT-1, black on black, nice shape...pink paint all over the locked up LT-1. Two nice Aurora's and a really clean Navy Blue Roadmaster. Two Mustang GT convertibles, and 89 and a 95. Interesting, the 89 had aftermarket aluminium heads on it when it went in...went back to look and the heads were gone....hmmm. Interesting how the motors locked up...couldn't budge the lifters in the Mustang motor. Also interesting how quickly some of this stuff is picked clean. Also a prfoundly rough 3rd gen Firebird marked CFC...but that bird had to have been dead for about ten years. Chris
  15. Now listening to Type O Negative, a great band my teenage son introduced me to. Sadly, he's also got me hooked on Korn and Slipknot for some odd reason. People have to really wonder when they see a middle aged guy driving a convertible around in November with the top down and Korn on the stereo.... Chris
  16. Those of us who are redneck need to be a little bit proud of our heritage if you ask me. Now pardon me while I go piss in the front yard...hope I miss the pink flamingo. Chris
  17. Can't wait for a full report, GM4life! Chris
  18. Yes, but it had aftermarket wheels and was lowered a bit. Looked just sooooo gooood. That car just wears that color like the models on the Pirelli calender wear their swimsuits.... WOW...what a good looking car! Looks good in maroon also. When I bought my Miata there was one in maroon (same style/year as the one above) freshly waxed and detailed. That looked great also. Chris
  19. I really enjoy time with my wife also... But it's going to be a long time until my youngest is away at college. Christina is only 8 years old so... Figure another ten years until the Mrs. and I ahve the house to ourselves. I'm sure we can make do in the mean time. Chris
  20. Interesting how some faces are very unique. Having met you...hmmm...in some ways your face is very much like it was when you were a kid. Wow. Thanks for sharing the pics! Chris
  21. The Enclave is the SUV to end all SUV's as far as I am concerned. LOVE IT! GM is just getting SO much right these days. Chris
  22. I can really see Albert and Drew driving the GT-R to the Pittsburg Symphony right now. Glad you made such a rational suggestion. THANKS, smk. GREAT post. Chris
  23. Two words---Buick Enclave. Like I said, I am a small car/sports car kind of guy and I usually hate crossovers. But the Enclave is a crossover that would make me crossover. Chris
  24. Happy Birthday! Chris
  25. Hopefully traditional 1950's style Customs. I love those, would be worth a trip to Long Island just to see them. Chris
