  1. Interesting...all sitting at the same traffic light (Hamilton and Refugee) at 2:30 yesterday afternoon. A really built for off road Wrangler Rubicon, a really pristine 60's Lincoln, and a Suburu WRX that is run in rally's by a local SCCA guy. Three VERY different yet cool vehicles, IMHO. Also-Really nice black LS1 TA, Black 64-66 Corvette Roadster (SWEET! on US 35 down by Jeffersonville), slammed mid 70's fullsize GMC truck (also black, great looking truck). I've also seen a bunch of large trucks being driven by very attractive females, but no blondes. Really nice looking brunette driving a large tandem axle dump truck, a redheaded MILF driving a Lifted GMC S-15 ZR2 Jimmy, another redhead driving a lifted Z71, another brunette driving a Semi Truck... Kind of strange. The two I enjoyed the most were the 64-66 Vette and the ZR2 Jimmy. The Jimmy was riding on what looked like 38 or 40 inch tires and was really clean and sharp, dark blue. Chris
  2. ...and an apology to you and Albert. My ADHD medication must be wearing off... Chris
  3. If your not going to be able to paint the Intrepid in the spring...that maybe makes sense. Good Luck! Hope it works out well for you. Chris
  4. On the plus side, lots of parts around for Grand Marquis with Cash for Clunkers. On the downside...your pretty much putting money into a crap car. Money you could spend on a better car later. Personally...I wouldn't do it. Drive the Intrepid through the winter and paint it in the spring. Buy a winter beater in the fall of '10, but get a high mile Cobalt or a Subie wagon or something worth holding onto. Just my two cents...and if you get the Grand Marquis, good luck. Chris
  5. ...or get an S10 with the Vortec V6. Better yet...get an Astro Van or a Safari. Haul anything, cheap as dirt, and if you get bored, you and alfred can take 5 of your closest friends to a classical concert.
  6. You could also get firewood delivered perhaps. The HHR is my clear vote... Even if gas were 35 cents a gallon...would still like it. Chris
  7. Lastly...took me a second to find it...here is what he did to get it to turn. Interesting read! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/515521/10 Chris
  8. Heres a Youtube Video of the truck racing from inside the cab...he passes a Miata and a V8 Mustang with a 4 cyl S-10! Cool to watch... Chris
  9. Check this out... http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/1320/ If you follow the links on the truck he's written about what he's done to modify it...cool! Chris
  10. More evil inspiration... http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/2194/
  11. Inspiration for you... http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/2209/ Good Luck, Dude! Chris
  12. Hyper, I agree with you but... I don't think the regular HHR is a turd. But the HHR SS and Cobalt SS/TC are simply amazing. Chris
  13. I doubt it was 24K a car. When gas hits $5 a gallon in a couple of years, people may be sorry they didn't clunk that old explorer. Chris
  14. Knight....would you quit this before I get tempted myself??? Chris
  15. Honestly...I would go with the HHR and never look back at all. Why: 1. You know my love for retro cars, and the HHR is IMHO by an order of magnitude the best looking of the three. 2. You and Alfred like to go to cultural things in Pittsburg, why not get something easy to park? 3. Parts will be stupid cheap for them, as chevy has built a blue million. 4. I love the ecotech as a drivetrain, and am thinking of getting a Cobalt SS/TC as an autocross car. AMAZING powertrain. 5. Best fuel economy. 6. IMHO most user friendly interior 7. Best chasis tuning of the bunch with the HHR. LOVE the way that car handles. You know of my love for sports cars...as far as normal cars go...the HHR is about as close to NIRVANA as your going to get. 8. already flexfuel capable. 9. Lower laoding deck ht (rear cargo hatch) will make loading the thing much easier at Home Depot or wherever. I'm 44...your what...maybe 32? TRUST ME...your back will thank you for the HHR in a couple of years. 10. IMHO the HHR has the best over the road highway manners of the three. Avi tends to "wallow slightly" Rainier is slightly soft for my tastes...but the HHR is a great highway car. Going to stop before I drop 12 grand on one this afternoon. But I LOVE the HHR. Didn't I joke with you once in a post about needing an HHR panel for you and Alfred? this may indeed be a good time to get one. Chris
  16. On the other hand, if you do this...good for you. I've owned Chevelles but never a 70-72 Cutty, one of the best ever GM designs IMHO. Like I said, I regret not having a Bird when they were around cheap in good condition. People are not fixing these up en masse like Chevelles, GTO's, Cutty's, Camaro's, Mustangs, Chargers, ETC. Not that people aren't restoring them but...if you want it get it now. Chris
  17. Good luck on the new 'bird if you get it...sorry I was late getting back to you on your wrecked bird. Tried to save it...but looks like it's hurt pretty bad. I've always liked those 70's birds, and regret not owning one when I was younger. Congrats on being as nuts as the rest of us! Chris
  18. A very quiet evening with my family. Cuddle up with my wife on the couch and rent a movie... Probably fix my wife something nice for dinner. Chris
  19. An automatic would possibly be a handicap on a racetrack, depending on the track. Some day I am going to hit the stupid lotto and buy a CTS-V. But I'd have to play the lottery first. To me, the CTS-V is one of the hottest cars on the planet, period. Chris
  20. Good luck on the Pirelli's, Sir. Saw a beautiful bonneville in traffic tonight...it was a non GM color, kind of a modernish grey similar to the color that was on Elanor (the mustang) in Gone in 60 Seconds. Running an aftermarket alloy wheel that really fit the car...lowered slightly. Looked HOT! Thought of you and your Bonnie when I saw it. Chris
  21. I know it will eventually go... Just hope it finds a good home, as I will be unable to adopt it myself. Chris
  22. To me this car is just spectacular. Glad to see GM get crtedit for doing something right! Chris
  23. Saw two really sweet looking 70-72 Skylark two door hardtops, one forrest green, one kind of a reddish metallic/bronze color. Made me miss cars of the 68-72 GM midsize era. God I miss those cars! Also, friend of a friend is restoring a Morgan three wheeler. Talk about an ODD car! Chris
  24. You need the evening with Albert. On my birthday...I want family. Was thinking a nice breakfast/brunch followed by ??? Let's see what we can put together. Will also depend on my "on call" schedule. Chris
  25. Think Philly would be a muich better place for you to meet with Z06. Chris
