  1. Sad...I know how you feel 'blu. Red GTI just sitting on a dealers lot near my house...6 speed...checked cloth seats...same thing...no can do right now... Chris
  2. I think the writer making the claims may be in denial of his own homosexuality. Seems like a lot of the so called straight males I know who bitch about gay men are the ones you see sneaking a peek at another guys ass while your standing in line waiting to get into a resteraunt. But how the hell does the religious right think someone is "influenced" or "persuaded" into becoming gay? Kind of interesting, in my 19 year old daughters circle of friends is a 17 year old boy with religious parents who discovered that he was gay. In his exact words "I tried so hard to like girls...but it just didn't work." This kid had a really good looking girlfriend whom he liked, but just not "in that way." Not like this kid is some fat, greasy kid reading his dad's Playboys and deciding to become gay. He had a ready, willing and able girl willing to do whatever he would have asked, and he just wasn't interested. I really like gay men. Think I'm one of about 7 straight guys on the North American continent that does perhaps. A lot of gay men are really creative or talented or artistic or giving or thoughtful or whatever. Probably NOT politically correct, but I've kind of wondered if being gay opens up part of a mans mind to be open to a whole bunch of different things. Chris
  3. You actually probably watch more than I do. Our TV is a crappy old 13" color set that the kids use for video games. By deliberately NOT buying a decent TV our children...read...play with animals...talk to friends...play games...hang out...write...do schoolwork... All things that would be commonplace for a child in the early 1950's. I do go to a friends house or a sports bar once in awhile to watch a sporting event. Chris
  4. ...and the best thing...no monthly payments! Chris
  5. Wow...I am in Healy lust! That (along with the 58-62 Corvette) HAS to be one of the best looking postwar production cars! Chris
  6. ...and just thinking out loud. I also think the number of twentysomethings graduating with high student loan school debt will mean that a lot of people will want a new or newish small car that doesn't cost much. My wife works with student financial aid. LOTS of people with stupid levels of student debt. This will also be a market for this car.
  7. Yes... However...your not part of the market this thing is aimed at.
  8. I pretty much am not a fan of the 350Z and hate street racing. Too bad this wasn't one of the street racer cars that got crushed.
  9. I know what you mean about a black cloud...was fixing a refrigeration issue at a resteraunt this ayem...wanting a cup of coffee...just as I got done the commercial coffemaker there had an electrical fire, 86ing the idea of a cup of coffee. Sometimes... And thanks for the Healy pics...
  10. Altima, G37...more important things to remember, like the exact shade of blue on my lint screen in my clothes dryer. Chris
  11. methinks perception is changing...both for domestics and the Koreans. Chris
  12. Here is a thought...look at pics and read articles about cars built about say 1905. then jump ahead 30 years to 1935. Order of magnitude of change, yes? Do the same, 35 to 65, 65 to 95... 95 beginning of OBD 2 and the modern era as it were... Give it another 30 years. Cars will be VERY different! Chris
  13. I'd rather blow it here than elsewhere. I have no trouble at all with this...think its a damned fine idea in fact. Chris
  14. So is Korea stealing Japans thunder in terms of cars? Woman who works in the insurance agency down the street from us at work bought a new Genesis Coupe and had it parked out front when I went by on my way home. It is, IMHO, a much nicer car than anything Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, or Nissan are building. Shoot me if you will...but I would gladly take the keys to this over a 370 Z. Got a good look at it...much better fit and finish than what I'm seeing from HONDA or Toyota...and not a terrible looking car, although it's no Camaro or GTI or C30 Volvo or anything... But it is IMHO a MUCH better effort than say the Accord Coupe or the Camry. So what is it boys (and girls)...is Korea moving ahead of the Japanese or not? Interested in your opinions. Chris
  15. Actually I'm much more into sports cars, and much more into GM's sedans, Camaro, Cobalt SS, etc. But market segment by market segment, the crossovers are IMHO GM's best product in comparison to the competition. IMHO no one else even comes remotely close. I even have thoughts about vintage Jaguars when I look at the Enclave...GM just nailed that one. That Arcadia Denali is just utterly killer, imho. GM really did a top notch top drawer effort with this, and it shows. If the baby Buick comes out nearly this good...hmmm... Chris
  16. The only time he enjoys being in a make believe world is when it is in cyberspace! Getting ready to reply to the "golf" question, loki. BTW, loki...where do you live, and what cars do you like? I seldom see you post outside of the political section, and would like to talk cars as well as debate gov't policy. Chris
  17. Better get a witch doctor to conjur the Tundra back up from posdered dust...er..I mean rust...
  18. ...and if anything the media is just now starting to get honest. The Scion TC is off of the Consumers Reports reccomended list because of poor side impact crash test results...and Consumers Reports also said that the Malibu and Fusion were BOTH more reliable than the Accord or the Camry. I like the GM ad for the Malibu that says..."An Accord is by definition a compromise..." Brilliant! Of course, it's helping that Honda and Toyota are building their ugliest vehicles ever...Corolla anyone....Crosstour...Any Acura Built...oatmeal bland Lexus? Chris Chris
  19. It sucks to be behind the curve... Sucks to be him! Chris
  20. ...and I like the idea of regs of stucco...and also of posting a pic... chris
  21. 'blu...sounds like a good plan. Give my 8 year old house about ten more years and I intend to kind of redo everything so it's 100 percent for retirement. I'd really eventually like a metal roof if I ever build a house...I love the sound of rain on them on a summer night. But 100% on the architectural shingle thing...put them on my second house. They looked fantastic! Chris
  22. Sweet! I need a winter beater/backup car myself!! Chris
  23. I don't think theres anything wrong with it... Chris
  24. There is still real reason to take pride in being American! Chris ...and glad to see this thing in the air. Brother of a guy from my wife's church was part of the development team...he was under some undgodly stress to get this thing flying....
  25. Congrats again...glad it's a 4 sped! Chris
