The Chevrolet Spark
Fiesta will be a great little car when it gets over here. Aveo crash test is scary, as my mother owns one.

Fightin' words
Hell yes! My wife has relatives in a Jeep group (www.jeepskool.com). They take old Cherokees out and blow them up with all kinds of stuff...they belong to a group that owns land on northern Ohio...like several hundred or even athousand Acres IIRC. Good wheeling territory. I have wet dreams at night about blowing up a Compass. As one of my son's rock and roll songs goes, "burn mother..... mother.... burn" Compass is a terrible product IMHO. Automotive Death Watch
I am still hoping for Suzki to die. They can take Mitsubishi with them...although Mitsu has too much of a foothold here to die. My thoughts...I still see Scion dieing, as they have really unimaginative product right now that is not going to win over the younger or older generation. The new xB is already loosing out to the Cube and the Soul...the TC is way behind the Civic Coupe/Civic Si. The just looks like the one toad in the forrest that no princess will ever kiss to make into a prince. Sales are way off. We'll see. Chris

The Chevrolet Spark
Hence my bitterly sarcastic post above about the Duke boys. We've been round this tree before...aveo....(cough...cough...)

Defender FTW! Actually they look cool, but...not so good of a vehicle. Chris

Fightin' words
Personally, I would love to crush most of the entire current lineup of both Jeep and Toyota to watch them die a slow, painfull death before being dropped in the shreder and sent off to the smelter. Now the prev. gen Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...thumbs up. The current oversized pig...no thanks. Toyota just needs to get a dose of reality. Chris

The Chevrolet Spark
Still, most people would rather drive a car like the Volt, Cruze, TDI VW, Prius, Fusion Hybrid, et al. Still think GM needs a first class entry in this segment, still not sure this car is going to do it. Chris

The "Smart" Rod
It's a nice idea, but probably impractical as a city car. MINI, perhaps? Hate to say it but...first gen Scion xB? Wife drives one, uses it as a city car, it parallel parks well and has good interior room. Focus should still be a good city car. I would think. How is it too long? Chris

Everyone that works for the media must drive a toyota
Not so much liberal as mindless. But I do see people starting to turn away from Toyota. Chris

Dubai debt plea sends fear around world
Lets all hold hands and say it together kids, so we won't forget it. Peak oil is here...life will change at $6.00 a gallon.... Chris

The Chevrolet Spark
I still think it will fail...which will cause GM to move away from small cars...which means they will get caught with their pants down again when the price of fuel goes up...which means they will have another government bailout...which means we will loose Buick and they will become part of Chevrolet... Sometimes life is a lot like watching Roscoe and the Duke boys chase each other around the big oak tree in Hazzard County. The General Lee always flys through the air and gets wrecked, the cop cars get destroyed, Boss hog looses..no one learnes anything...the same stupidity happens again next week... GM sometimes is a lot like a girl a knew in high school. Unable to learn from past mistakes. Chris

The Chevrolet Spark
I agree 100%. We think about what we as a community of car nuts would buy rather than the average Joe on the street. But...giving credit to my wife and daughters...they are ALL starting to just HATE the Cube. They already hated the Soul. Kind of cool. The other day I suggested that we could do the laundry, clean out the garage, clean the kids rooms, mop the hardwood floors...or go test drive a new Cube and go out for Pizza. The house got cleaned! The "Smart" Rod
If it doesn't have to be RWD, get a Cobalt coupe or a Focus or an Escout. IIRC, you are 6'5. Future of GM is like 6'11 and drives a Focus. The Focus has nice tall doors and the seats go back pretty far. I have a friend who has a Focus, and you can haul 6'5 people in the car with ease. Start there. Or...a really bad suggestion but...look for a TDI VW New Beetle. Seriously. Comfotable for tall people, great seats, slow, cheap to insure, 50 MPG...and did I mention slow... Chris

Today's meenu
In North Carolina with my family and we ate...Pizza. Our big meal is tomorrow so my sister and her family can join us. Had a nice glass of wine or two with dinner and I am just now relaxing and getting ready to watch the Texas/Texas A and M game with my father. Chris

What is yours?
For me, just the opposite. LOVE the 49-50 Merc, esp. in original unmolested form...but love customs also. But I am a huge fanboi of the 69-70 Cougar. LOVE the eliminator. THAT car is the cats ass if you ask me! Had a guy offer to trade me a Cougar Eliminator in Grabber Blue for my 66 Mustang Fastback. Cougar was in fabulous condition. Turned the guy down...regretted it to this day. Other Mercury that was offered to me was the 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Convertible, a red on white with a 4 speed, 390 car...just like the 1966 Indy pace car. Turned THAT guy down too. The 66-67 Cyclone design was really clean IMHO...love that car also. And the 64 Comet had really good lines, with its neatly sculped sides...one of the neatest cars ever from Mercury. The things a guy will do to hold onto an old Mustang. Chris
