Ford September 2009 Sales
Gee...regfootball...the sales of the Focus are down 23% just like the Fit. I guess it isn't that great of a car anyways. Chris

Honda Motor September 2009 Sales
The same could be said of the aveo, the cobalt, the focus, the sebring, the corolla, the yaris, the versa, the sentra...all other small cars are down by a similar amount. Try $4.35 a gallon gas vs. $2.35 a gallon gas... The Fit is infinitely better than the Yaris, the Aveo, the Sebring, the Corolla, the Sentra, et. al. Consider also the premium the Fit sells at over other small cars. Chris

How I'm seeing things
Couple of Lexus coupes like that showed up at a local Ford dealer as Cash for Clunkers trade ins. Broke my heart...NOT! Seriously, I'd suggest driving a Mustang for serious consideration and an RX-8 for some fun. That's all the real input I have. Chris

(enter sarcasm mode) Better than the Yaris, 'blu. Over on the VW TDI club they have pics of a VW showcar that could do the trick. Volkswagen built a special "Barbie" edition Bug ragtop that is bright metallic pink with a pink and white interior and pink accents on the wheels and motor. It even comes with a giant makeup kit for the trunk. How could someone ever want something like a GTO over that? Perhaps our good brother Camino could branch out from GM, eh? (exit sarcasm mode) Chris

Wouldn't parting out the mothertruck make more sense than trying to sell it whole? Maybe I asked that before, sorry if I did... Chris

Inside the 2010 Camaro SS
The future I fear is where Saudi Arabia wants to cash in all of there $...or where the value of the $ falls and we can't buy oil. I want my mobility, thankyouverymuchsir. Chris

Not empty green promises...wishes maybe. You can't blame us for wanting to be independant of foreign oil. You also can't blame us for wanting to drive cars other than Prius and Insight wannabe's for the rest of our lives. I am just trying to be realistic-unless we make real change, real change wilol be forced upon us. Chris

Inside the 2010 Camaro SS
All I am saying is this...it is 2017 and your saying goodbye to your current beloved Impala after 230,000 miles of use and an insurance write off after someone mildly rear ends you in traffic. You walk into your local Chevy dealer and you buy a lighter, more nimble, better quality rear wheel drive Impala with an inline six. Touque in inline six will re-arrange your insides, and it gets 42 miles per gallon day in, day out. Oh...and your next Impala runs for 350,000 miles.... That is the diesel promise. Wouldn't that be sweet? Chris

This just burns my ass
Actually in the long run this may very well save a bunch of old GM iron from the scrap heap. At least people are putting money into these cars instead of using them as derby cars. Chris

...and yes the 330d is quite the car. Chris

Inside the 2010 Camaro SS
Not just yes but Hell yes! Love the idea. Chris

This just burns my ass
Sadly that is happening to a LOT of old GM iron around here. Too bad they did that to such an unusual and uncommon Olds! Chris

GM - Saturn - Penske deal is DEAD!
I think you hit the nail on the head. Wow...sad...and sorry to see this happen to our local Saturn retailers. Chris

And we should simplify other ways we live also. Ever think of how much energy it takes to keep twenty fast food resteraunts running on a Friday night? Or a modern department store? There are ways we can do better. Chris

A TDI VW Jetta can get 40 MPG with it's eyes closed and its a damn comfortable car. Europe has been building diesel Benzes since the dawn of humanity and they get really good fuel economy also. Something along the lines of a small Benz, RWD, with a good diesel and a nice interior package would make a sweet touring car and could easily turn 40 MPG. But again, we need to work on the fuel source, not just the cars.

Crazy question: Do you listen to your engine with the window down?
That would be different if you had that diesel though... Chris

Any more progress on the Camino or luck selling the wagon? Chris

Would love to see GM also build a RWD modern coupe like the Hyundai Genesis. Perhaps a pipe dream, but there were some neat sketches in one of the Buick threads recently.

I would agree. Like I said, I'd rather race a 4 cyl car than walk! Chris

Hmmm...a diesel Camaro. I remember when stoners with Camaros used to go and "roll yards" by backing into peoples yards and doing burnouts. Some of the VW TDI guys "soot" people who cut them off in traffic. The thought of a Camaro driver "sooting" someone with black smoke just strikes me as funny. Chris

Inside the 2010 Camaro SS
Dude, that would be the car of my current dreams. My only two points in this thread are: 1 We can't diss the current Camaro too baldy, it is one hell of an effort from the general. No car is perfect, but the new (current) Camaro is one hell of an effort. 2. Enjoy it now, it will be the last of it's breed. I am actually hoping that GM comes out with a cool premium small car, along the lines of the GTI and the Mini S. Most of the cars I have owned have been GM and I have had great luck with them. A car starting every day without complaint in the middle of an Ohio winter year in and year out...that does a lot to generate good faith. Chris

I pegged the sarcasm meter and at least one person seemed to notice. GREAT! Agree with you about the Camaro being lighter. However, this will for the reasons that Oldsmoboi and I have put forth probably be the last V8 musclecar Camaro ever. Does it have faults? yes. Do I want one? Yes. Just want us all to enjoy this car for what it is for as long as it is around. Will I buy one? No, probably a more fuel efficient sporty car like a GTI or a MINI Cooper S. So you can understand that I like light, sweet cars. I just want one with the fuel economy of the S when gas hits 6 bucks a gallon. Chris

I don't want either of my sons drafted to go fight on the other side of this rock so we can have dead dino juice to run our cars. As much as I hate to admit it, I have bought my last V8 car I think. Chris
