Suddenly Cobalt Beats its Competition (www.Autosavant.net)
Interesting also to see what the ecotech does in terms of real world MPG with American drivers in the Astra. (Yeah I know the Astra is a 1.8, but it is the same basic motor, right? Or am I wrong on this one....?) Chris

Suddenly Cobalt Beats its Competition (www.Autosavant.net)
Our 86 Cavalier (manual 4 cyl) got 42/43 on the highway a couple of times, and Cobalts with manuals can puyt out good fuel econ. #. The other huge advantadge that the Cobalt has is the extra torque in an auto to turn an auto tranny, as 97% of these things are auto. Chris

So the wife has narrowed her choices down...
What he said. Although these vehicles are really not my cup of tea. Chris

Sweetness!
I've seen a couple, but very, very, very seldom see these. Always wondered why people didn't just collect the 64-65 Bu as hard as some of the later models. Clean 64 two door hardtop lives just up the road a bit from me....blue on blue....nice car. Chris

Hey 68 and Dsuupr

Chevy Malibu could be exported to Brazil
Given what the republicans have done to our economy, doing anything is going to get a lot harder... But yeah, I'd like to see the BU' exported. Fusion in Brazil? Interesting. Chris

Armada sinking?
Other than the new GT-R, (and maybe the 350Z, although it isn't my cup of tea) could Nissan build anything any uglier? IMHO Nissan just needs to go away. With products like these I seem to find myself hating Nissan about as badly as everyone else around here hates Toyota. Chris

CNN / Money rips ASTRA
In my 66 Mustang Fastback, I dumped HOT HOT HOT coffee all over myself once, no cupholders. In our Safari van my teenage daughter was driving and she got on the gas a little hard, the HOT HOT HOT coffee still went right on my lap. Even with cupholders. Either way I get screwed! Or rather, not for about 4 days after until I had healed up... in both cases. Maybe like the Astra ad says I shouldn't mix multi tasking and driving. Chris

Is This Going on in Your Area?
They are trying to do the right thing but the important thing is to learn from your mistakes. I remember Toytoas rusting Badly when I was in high school in the 80's, seems like in some ways they never did learn.

Is This Going on in Your Area?
It had the benifit of sitting in a farmers field for 30 plus years. I think I told you before about the guy who collected like 600+ Pontiacs from the 60's and let them all rot in a field around here? That was one of those cars. My only point was that no car is ultimately immune...and that Ohio cars seem to rust like no where else. Outside of the Library the other day I saw an IROC Z from the late 80's that was rusted almost up to the rear window. However, I'd guess that Z would be on the road about another 20 years when it finnally was as bad as these Toyotas. Chris

08 ACCORD EX test drive
Nicer than what? The Malibu is a decent looking car but the other cars in the class...Jetta...Camry...Accord...the rolling visual abortions of Nissan...Everything that it competes against (other than the Bu') is far, far, far uglier. Chris

Do you find this tempting?
The only place that thing would go in winter were it to be mine is the inside of my heated garage. Chris

Do you find this tempting?
It is a sweet, sweet truck but I'd rather put the same cash towards a Buick Grand National. But tempting... Chris

Just tell Victoria that you will need plenty of practice before you can have a first born... Chris

So, smoking
OMFG I feel sorry for you. My father had to quit for medical reasons, he quit when I was in high school. For the next ten years, every time we sat at a stop light his fingers would tremble and he would shake and get cold chills...to be followed by the inevitable "God I want a damned Cig....." Keep us posted, seriously...and good luck to you sir. You have my respect. Chris

So, smoking
I've owned two Chevelles, and they both loved to smoke like that. I bought a rusty Ford Ranger from a friend for next to nothing so he could move to Florida, and it smoked in a whole different way... Chris

...they need to. Intersting to think of how much money the big three put into charity in this country. Gm and Ford both donate vehicles to Columbus State and their automotive tech program. Also, a lot of cultural and other events are sponsered by the big three. Chris

Extreme Crash: BMW Vs. Volvo.
Thats at Mid Ohio, I used to flag races there. Most interesting crash I ever saw was a guy loose his brakes on the back strait on a motorcycle. China Beach (the sand trap at the end of the strait) took him down and he walked away, but that accident was 10 years ago and I've often wondered exactly what his face looked like inside the helmet when he realized he was going 150 mph plus and wasn't going to slow down. ...and oh, $h! is this gonna cost toyota BIG bucks.... Glad that they seem to want to do the right thing, but...damn...from a financial standpoint...wow... Chris

I've seen Body on Frame cars split in half because of body rust here...including very sadly a red on red 66 GTO... Chris
