They did in Canada. The base Regal now has Cloth/Leatherette, and less standard features.
-
FYI in Canada there is a cheaper, "more" basic Verano slotting in below the base model that the USA gets. It has 17" wheels, no leather steering wheel/shift knob, Intellilink, etc... I suspect this is because GM Canada has let a lot of blood especially in the small car market since Pontiac was axed up here.

Looks like a Citroen DS, do want.

Great that you're back and that they managed to fix you up! -
Locking gas cap is on, tank is brimmed. We shall see what happens. They said that they scanned fuel trim data and found it off spec but not too far off spec. There was a PCM calibration update that had been out for the car for a while pertaining to hot-crank issues so they installed that while they were at it. They said that I should monitor the problem for a couple tanks to see if it persists. I guess it really says something when the dealership service department can't find something to do about the problem.

Cheers or Jeers: 18,000 mile 1985 Cadillac Seville

I loved the bustleback Sevilles as a kid, however this one has been hit with an ugly stick. An unmolested example however... -
No odour of fuel at all, trying out a locking gas cap for a tank and see where that gets me methinks would be the next logical step from here.

-Engine is running perfectly, and it's not at all down on power or behaving in an odd way. -Fuel filter is of the in-tank variety -I changed air filter this summer and the old one really wasn't that dirty but I changed it anyway -Tire pressures this whole time were in the 30-33psi range which is at or above Manufacturer specs. I check all tire pressures bi-weekly -Fuel leak ruled out as well by the techs at the dealer -Car is not out of alignment either we determined. head ---> desk

The Malibu continues to be an enigma and the story continues to develop. Looks like this fuel-burning issue is more inexplicable than anyone thought. Oxygen Sensors not the problem, fuel economy still in 11-14 MPG range. Took car to Chevy dealer where it is right now and as of yet they are completely stumped as to what the problem is. No diagnostic codes, no missing, engine appears to be in perfect running order and condition. Fuel system service service was just done within 8000km, they actually called us to tell us that they have no idea what the problem is. I faxed them the spreadsheet I'm using for fuel economy tracking and hope to hear from them later today after they take another look. If they can't find anything I have a couple other shops I am familiar with whose honesty I trust who maybe could give a second opinion. With an entire tank burning through in less than 170 miles of mixed driving I have a feeling this issue is going to be either expensive to fix or expensive to live with.

The long narrow center IP vents go further back than that actually... 1966 But I do see what you mean, seems kinda like the vents on the 1977-92 RWD Caddies.

A while back the Chev-Cadillac dealer where we service our cars was doing a rebuild on a red Ghibli a while back. -

Cadillac News: Ladies & Gents, I Give You The Cadillac XTS
vonVeezelsnider replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
I will say after looking at it again that it certainly appear to have much better proportions than the LaCrosse which sometimes looks super awkward esp from rear 3/4 view. I would agree with Ocn though that overall the 9-5 has the best execution of the Epsilon II cars so far although this is second in my mind. -
I'm not a big black-car guy, but I will say that some cars the gloss black works better than the metallic black. Gloss black looks better on the Cadillac CTS but the metallic black looks better on the Regal, Acadia, etc... I'm not sure why I feel that way. My colours are dark blue, blue-gray, medium to dark red, and brown. I also really like dark green but nobody makes a good green car anymore. The 2010 MKZ was nice in that green colour they had.

That's a nice choice there JB, hope you're happy with it!

GMI has a HighRes Picture that GM released to them tonight. If you zoom in you can see that the "big gap" is actually what the edges of the headlamp look like at a distance. -
Cadillac News: Ladies & Gents, I Give You The Cadillac XTS

I like the grille and headlamp treatment but there are a couple things (since the concept really) that I'm not as big a fan of, mainly the short rear deck and the opera windows behind the door. The former takes away from the presence of the car and the latter is an un-Cadillac styling cue. Nonetheless, if that's all I've got to complain about all in all it's probably a pretty good car LOL. Freakishly better looking than that sack of potatoes they call a Lincoln MKS. -
A common source of kvetching from my brother since he began driving the Regal was that its OEM CD/Cassette stereo doesn't have an AUX jack for iPod purposes. Double-DIN sized head units that look like they fit with the car are more expensive and theft magnets. They also would sacrifice the functionality of the redundant steering wheel controls. Casette and FM modulators always seem to leave something in the audio quality department as well. Then, not too long ago, I was watching Saabkyle04 on YouTube review his new 1995 Roadmaster Limited and I noticed he managed to get his hands on a Buick Monsoon Audio stereo that had been refurbished and in this process had an AUX jack wired right into the head unit, from what I understand, cutting right into the pre-amplifier. I found the seller (http://www.ebay.com/...=&_trksid=p3686) "factoryradios" on eBay and found that the cost was only about $100 for an identical, fully refurbished stereo the style of which matched our Regal (except it had no CD Player, but who cares about that these days anyways?). Add on $50 shipping to Canada and that was about half the price of a Double-DIN head unit, maintained factory look, wasn't a theft magnet etc... The seller has stereos for all sorts of 90s-2000s GM stuff so you guys might be interested in this particular MOD Purchased it and installed myself so you know the installation process isn't that hard on a 1997-2005 Regal and Century at least. All you need is a screwdriver and a trim stick/tool. Disconnect Battery, open glove box, remove glove box L/R side trim, undo bottom screws on kick plates, pry back top of trim across dash below stereo and then unscrew the stereo and IP bezel and carfully pry off. Undo the stereo and replace with new one, replace bezel, re-attach kickplate and insert screws, reconnect battery, good to go. I attached a video at the bottom to show how it works New Unit:

I'm pretty sure that I will like it as well... Here's a few of my own, please don't throw anything at me Since my love of Citroen and B-Bodies is well documented here, these are a little different. 2008+ Chrysler Town & Country Limited With the minivan going the way of the station wagon, appealing to a more upmarket crowd while crossovers dominate the lower priced segment, this is not unlike what happened when minivans came on the scene and station wagons generally sold to more upscale customers. Circle of life evidenced by the T&C outselling the Caravan and all other Minivans. By that metric, the T&C is sort of like the Roadmaster Estate of our times. 2008+ Chrysler Sebring/200 Convertible Limited (Hardtop) Obviously the 200 is lightyears better but I still like both. The last true American droptop cruiser. It has flex and no sporting pretentions but I'm glad it's not a Mustang or Camaro. I kind of like the longer rear deck and the hardtop, besides it has less of the offensive styling features the sedan had. 2008-2009 Buick LaCrosse Super In spite of the torque steer and overloaded transmissions, I've always loved these even more so than the GXP and Impala/Monte SS. 1994-1995 Pontiac Trans Sport, Oldsmobile Silhouette, Chevrolet Lumina Minivan (3.8L) In light of my street encounter this week... We loved ours and apparently they run forever. Never rust, super light and aerodynamic for close to 40MPG highway. Not like every other minivan on the road- styling is love it or hate it but I've liked these all my life.
