  1. Looks very good, and I was going to say the same thing as Superfly - the car is very similar to the concept. I am happy for the brand differentiation GM gives its customers. This is not a SAAB, a Chevrolet, or Saturn. Clearly, it is a Pontiac.

  3. Thanks for the info. Show season is going to be excellent this year, I think.

    Help!

sketchy, yes, but a link proving my sanity... :AH-HA_wink: http://movies2.nytimes.com/mem/movies/revi...FB166838E669EDE

  6. After seeing a photo of a Phantom in a powerslide in Car, or was it Top Gear? I changed my mind about the car. I like it. Not as much as a Flying Spur, I guess, but I think it's pretty tough. As far as stratospheric cars go... right now I am drooling all over the '07 CL63 AMG in this week's Autoweek. Badass to the core.
  7. I'm undecided on something specific. Even though I use it for its intended purpose very rarely, I am wondering if I will miss having a truck if I buy a car. Vehicles I like: G6 coupe Cobalt SS/SC Solstice GXP 900 Silverado/Sierra shorty Sky Rabbit 2 door Mustang GT Charger SXT Caliber R/T manual trans

  9. An attractive car satisfies a want and fills a need. A boring car only fills a need. Yes, Toyota has succeeded building boring cars. We need something different. Cadillac has been transformed in the modern age and has erased many years of customer apathy... with design. It is time for GM to let that attitude trickle down to all the NA divisions, before it is too late. We can harp forever on parity in reliability with the Japanese and it will not do any good. Design is going to be the next dealbreaker, and GMNA has got to focus on designing cars that are authentic to each of their brands. On the Ford side, Ray Charles could see that the 427 Concept would ignite much more passion here in the USA than the Falcon, as it is. Rebody the Falcon in 427 clothing and Ford would have something that fits... perfectly.
  10. Right, Tauruses and Luminas. Exactly what the domestic industry needs to break out of the doldrums. Brilliant. Everything doesn't need 400hp, but boring cars have killed us. Memorable cars are what we need now.

    Help!

That's why the car is a curiousity. It did exist, though, complete with "Golden Anniversary" badges (I seem to remember something about the hood and steering wheel having the badges). The only one I've seen was in the movie, but I remember reading something about it later. I just have not been able to find the reference.
  12. They should've taken the Magnum.

    Help!

In 1955, Oldsmobile built a few Golden Anniversary 88s, painted black and gold two-tone. Burt Reynolds drove one in the movie "WW and the Dixie Dance Kings". I've been agonizing over this since the Hershey show. If anyone has any information on this car, how many were built, and the significance of it, I'd really appreciate it.
  15. Ghost Dog, better known to us old timers as Sonic Reducer, turned 44 yesterday. Happy B-day to all.
  16. Mr. Sulu
  17. Mr. Dart, I'm shocked. I haven't seen this sentimental side of you before.
  18. I think Coupe/Sedan Deville has been around since, what... '49? And Seville only since... '56? A veritable pup. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. That's what I was wondering about... revealing competitive information. How were talks even advanced without talking about future plans in some sort of detailed way?

  21. That Falcon does nothing... but reinforce my belief that Australians love "beige" cars... the spanking new, mechanically sparkling Holdens have the same problem. Please don't let them bring them here unless they are reskinned with a pulse.
  22. The body kit on the Corsa is stupid. Love the meaningful performance changes tho.

  24. Sad.
  25. '07 Element SC, gray, on the lot. Dodge Nitro black bumper special, red, on the lot.
