  1. You know, it doesn't take 14 years to find out an MSRP. Hullo? NADA.com.
  2. I was being an anti-snob, CB. I know what an aureola is, I din't need to "look it up". wire loom
  3. I was sad to read of Tower's death. A saturday visit to Tower Records in Annapolis was a staple for me when I lived in Maryland. There is a small music store in a shopping center very close to me. I have bought a few CDs there, but lately I have just purchased from Amazon, it's so convenient. I should pay the little store a visit next time I want a CD. I am very anti-Walmart these days.
  4. razor, you are the off-the-wallest dude ever! Loki, gender confusion doesn't equal gayness. Croc, it was a joke. As Mister T says, "Laugh, fool!"
  5. Oldsmobile?
  6. I use Firefox as my browser, and sadly, I can never see Camino's photo links.
  7. Ok, lot geeking, October 15: 2007 Caliber R/T 5 speed manual! Orange (everybody has orange). 2007 Mustang GT, Windveil Blue/black leather/18" polished 5 spokes autotragic (gotta have a manual). 2007 Sentra 2.0S Gray, six speed manual. This thing is funky, a little post-modern piece of art, if you go for that sort of thing. 2007 Nitro SLT. Looks small in person, kinda cool except for the grille and headlights. I still think the cheeky, round headlights and silver grille of the M80 Concept would have been more appropriate (or was it deemed "too cute"?) :AH-HA_wink: 2007 G6 GT sedan, black/black cloth, panoramic roof, black chrometec wheels. Sharp, but I'm scared of that big complicated sunroof. 2007 Explorer Ironman Edition. Reminds me of a Liberty Renegade, with fake rivets attaching body cladding. 2007 Mazda 3s in many interesting colors. GM mostly has such...run of the mill color choices.
  8. Someone please direct scotthendersonfan to that longterm RL test where the car was revealed to be junk. J.U.N.K. He must not have seen that.
  9. hot wax
  10. This month's Road&Track magazine has yet another NG GTO rendering, a convertible this time. It has cues from the '69 model, with the center beak, the fullwidth split grille, and exposed quad round headlamps. They are speculating the new car will have a V6 version at the entry level (they call it Tempest). I think it's a brilliant idear, and I've been advocating it for a long time... sell millions of 6 cylinder cars to keep the firebreathing variants on the market.
  11. gee, thanks bobo. :AH-HA_wink: wick
  12. Oh, the GTO is much more car than the G6, I know that, and I am a RWD fan from way back. I am scared to buy a car like a GTO used, so many of them get wrecked from carelessness. Not that I wouldn't do my best to avoid buying a repaired car. I cannot afford $33k for a leftover '06. Even with a fair discount, I couldn't afford one. The dealership in York, PA I went to has 3... Stealth Gray, bright blue, and silver. The bright blue one had awesome blue leather interior. The G6 coupe looks fantastic, imo, and it is a good compromise until the Zeta cars come on full force, especially with the 3.9L/six speed manual combo. I haven't driven a 3.6L/six speed auto car, but I'm sure that'll be a sweet car, if a little less fun to drive with the auto.
  13. Cool. Good luck to everyone. This would have been a good sketch comp as well.
  14. Dart, that's hot, in a 60's retro sort of way.
  15. The transmission is electronically controlled. The engine is electronically controlled. The speedometer is electronically controlled. And they're all tied together. This whole thing could very well be related... a loose connection, perhaps? I've seen these symptoms in a cluster before, but it's been a while since I've worked in the service department. I'll bet it's something simple. Oldsmoboi is most likely right.
  16. avocado (refrigerator)
  17. At the Pontiac dealership yesterday, the old lady salesperson worked up figures on a piece of paper. When I asked for a xerox copy of the piece of paper to bring with me, she refused. Red flag. I have more research to do, and the internet is a good place to start. If I were you, I'd research the heck out of your Impala's value and a fair selling price for the new car your family is considering. It's important to keep the two figures separate to avoid "rolling over" negative equity into the new loan. It's best to know if you're "upside down" in your current loan, and if you are, that negative equity has to show up somewhere.
  18. Razor, this series of ripples was not normal. The car was parked in a row, next to my truck on one side, and another vehicle on the other. The reflections off those vehicles gave an excellent perspective for checking out body flaws. And it was only on the driver's side, something that can be noticed fairly easily when the car is shiny clean (the car was dirty). Believe me, this was not designed in, and I would not buy a brand new vehicle with body damage. Who would? Razor, you sound like you're a bit on edge. I have this visual of you, in your G6, flipping out, kicking the console, dash and door panels in a tantrum. Please do not harm your Pontiac. It's always worth the hassle of selling your vehicle privately, I guess. I know I can get up to 2 grand more if I sell it myself than try to trade it in. That's a lot of money toward a downpayment. A new scenario: Factory order the new vehicle I want. Put my truck up for sale. Buy a $1500 beater to get me to work. Sell the truck. Trade the beater on the new vehicle when it comes in. Does that sound reasonable?
  19. Sounds like your B-day was Dy-no-miiiiiite! Good for you, you stayed away from old ladies at Wal-Mart.
  20. You're only human.
  21. I think he was busy planning the next (very heterosexual) fraternity initiation ritual with his bros. Something about making pledges drink cheap beer from an unspecified orifice maybe? Don't quote me on that.
  22. I liked the closed coupe concept a bit better than the roadster concept. Legal bodystyle for racing, instead of the tacked-on hardtop on the roadster body. Absolute killer looks. An excellent opportunity for Pontiac.
  23. The interior looks good. The black probably looks better in person. The "electric shaver" grille, though, ehhh. Honda has always followed their own, stubborn path, and that's fine for them, apparently. I don't see Acura as a true luxury brand either. More a premium alternative to Honda with excellent dealer service thrown in. Witness the Canadian Acura "Civic". An indication that even Honda doesn't consider the brand "true" luxury, just a step up. Audi and Volvo are primarily FWD brands. Are they "true" luxury? It's a shame to see the RSX go. Yes, the current Civic Si matches it in horsepower, but not image. Are they still coming out with a TSX coupe of some kind? It will surely be more expensive than the RSX, a way to keep the "kids" who bought the Integra and RSX out of the showroom. Does Acura really want to do that?
