  1. I'd love to see the Saturn Astra have the content of the Opel version, but... will it? Or will it be "dumbed down" or "stripped out" for America?
  2. Kirk
  3. With a car like that, he might have had a .357 Magnum under the seat. So yeah, I was more chicken than Chicken.
  4. Um... hot young chicks?
  5. I bemember those commercials. That's funny stuff. Those owls always make me laugh.
  6. I had a silver Bug like that, a '98. I bet this guy's is a tad quicker than mine was. I could only get it to 110 or so.
  7. Yeah, the local dealer has like 4 Fits. The name... fits, because the car looks like it could trigger epilepsy.

    Hmm...

Vipes, no, you're not a pussy, but you could be a felon if you climb that pole. Don't do it!
  9. It's difficult to do business with some customers because they cannot speak English. People who come here should start to learn English before they emigrate so they can live a full life once here. English has been our predominant language since our country's founding and it will remain so. I am not picking on Spanish-speaking people only, but anyone from anywhere who comes here expecting to stay.
  10. Oh God, I've got it too. Superchargers for everyone!
  11. Someone here put it perfectly when describing the new Camry... it looks like it has a stuffy nose. So does the Yaris, but I still think it's a cute pup, especially the hatch. I knew this would happen (mainly because it was I who recommended she trade her Echo for it). My mom has a rather intense dislike for her Cobalt. She says it's too hard to get in and out of, and she's had like 4 sets of interior door trim panels put on because the cloth around the pull pocket comes loose from the flexing of the panel. Hopefully that's fixed now with a redesign from GM. She says she wants an HHR, but I really think they're too expensive for her (no one has a base model on the lot). I might take her to test-sit a base Yaris sedan. Local dealer had a Light Olive/tan&black one with power package and automatic for a very reasonable sticker price, and it's got an attractive interior. Remember, she wasn't phased by the center gauges on her Echo. Reason I put this here, is because when I go lot cruising/car spotting on Saturday evenings and Sundays, I look for myself and for her on occasion.
  12. WWF (a real sport with real mens)
  13. Aww... well I hope it works like a charm, with a short transition period.
  14. The full-size trucks have to be great, even after Zeta comes on line in full force to take some of the heat off of them as personal transportation. I personally cannot wait to see what they have in store for us.
  15. Yesterday afternoon I said "Stop looking at me like that!"

    Hmm...

Now see, I'd get partway up and freeze, hugging the pole. The fire department would have to send their best looking members to peel me from the pole in their cherry picker.
  18. Has your vision recovered, bobo? I mean...a base Raider has to really hurt the peepers.
  19. Damn that thing is looking good. The new tires look like good diggers. I bet you can really kick some dirt and gravel pretty high with those.
  20. A longroof hard top Kappa variant for Chevrolet would be a sweet car, no doubt, even as a two-seater. A Solstice hatchback like the concept would be fantastic. I haven't seen anything official from GM about the feasibility of these variants. Perhaps now that the experiment has been received well, we'll see more from this platform. Pontiac, at least, needs a RWD four seater at the bottom of their lineup. Enthusiasts agree on that point. I guess the Torana concept was a car with no platform... it was never made clear to me what platform it was supposed to be on. I hope GM has the foresight to build a RWD sedan/coupe platform smaller than Zeta for the US, Australia and Europe, if not other markets. As far as I know, this thread was started to celebrate the reported fact that Kappa and Chevrolet Y-body are essentially sold out for the model year, which should be viewed as a good thing. I hope the Kappa cars become as perennial as MX-5 has become for Mazda, despite the tepid, anti-American reviews from the European press. Croc, I apologize for irritating you. Perhaps your local CVS pharmacy has some ointment for that.
  21. SAAB SportCombi. Silver. Distinctive. Kinda cool. Bermuda Blue new Tahoe on our lot. Spring Edition HHR and two Spring Edition Aveos. Spunky. There should have been a Spring Edition Colorado, with some kind of chrome wheels, special paint color and upholstery.
  22. In your opinion. Everyone, GM fans included, whined no end that the world's number one automaker built average cars for average people for way too long. Kappa has been a bright light, a sign of hope for the future under Bob Lutz. Your negative attitude toward this platform, which is clearly at least partially fueled by your opinion of Josh, cannot change the fact that it is a success, even with its pure, dedicated sportscar platform (imagine that, a sports car built on its own platform, how odd, as we all know the MX-5 has spawned a gazillion variants.)
  23. ...these words as much as I did today. I pulled up to a redlight, and in the next lane, a red Geo Metro convertible, top down, made its glorious presence known, with a little chubby nerdy dude driving it. In my heart and on my tongue were the words... "THAT THING GOT A HEMI IN IT?" I chickened out, though.
  24. I agree with the finishing order in this article. The 300 Touring, with the 3.5L V6, was the quickest in the group. As far as looks go, I'd say it's just about a wash between the two top finishers. The Lucerne is quite the looker, (I wish it had a more assertive face) imo, but the 300 is dashing and masculine, with a bit of "bad boy" attitude. If the Lucerne were RWD with the supercharged 3800 as the base engine (yes, I'm still a fan of the 3800 engine, sue me)... then the Lucerne would have finished first easily. The Ford product is a competent snoozer. Hopefully, the larger engine and facelift will change the Ford's fortunes. EDIT: Wrong Chrysler 300 thread! DUH! My opinion still stands, however.
  25. So... you got him that to keep him from snoring and waking you up?
