  1. Women, what're ya gonna do?
  2. I knew I could incite a response like this. Thanks for being so predictable.
  3. When info was first coming out about the new Tahoe, I could swear I saw something about a Z71 version becoming available later in the '07 model year, with special exterior trim, a different front fascia, etc.. Hmmm...
  4. Sorry z, I wasn't clear in my description. Her key sometimes will not turn in the cylinder to the "lock" position to remove it. It stays in "accessory". This is with the car in "park", of course. I've noticed (but haven't told her because I'll never hear the end of it) that the lock cylinder looks like it is falling down into the column shroud. It is not fully in the hole through the shrouding, it is low. Yes, she knows all about the TSB for the door trims. Before that fix was in, she had several sets of old-design trim panels put in, before our shop stopped ordering them for her because of the pending fix. Since the wider cups have been installed, I haven't heard this complaint from her. Time will tell. The radio situation has only happened twice as far as I know. I was with her once when it happened.
  5. Happy Birthday, sir of the Energizer GP.
  6. Croc, sir, could you please do me a favor? Could you maybe switch to posting in spanish? Because I can't read spanish and that might really help my blood pressure. Thanks in advance!
  7. As some of you know, my mom has a 2005 Cobalt base sedan. She's had a few issues, and I want to see if anyone reading this has had similar experiences. Cloth coming out from under the pull cup in the door trim panels. Radio going into "lock" mode for no apparent reason. Resets itself with an ignition cycle. Ignition lock cylinder refusing to lock, preventing the key from being removed.
  8. Yeahbut, don'tcha hate getting whiplash when the speed limiter kills the fuel?

Iron Duke was a 2.5L engine. WMJ, the dancing persons in your sig, are they... uh... like Chi*ks with Di*ks? Those pants look odd.

    I was sleeping.
  12. I love the little wheel controls on the radio. My mom's '69 Charger SE (gold on gold vinyl interior) had those.
  13. Although Chrysler's '70-and-up ponycars are much more coveted today, I always liked the '69 Barracuda.
  14. Agreed. Starting with the '55 Chrysler 300 (before that they were kinda unremarkable except for the Airflow, imo), they've had some really compelling designs over the years. Of course, they kinda lost their way in the early 60's and again with the K-car era, but they've recovered. I hope the next Liberty looks like a bigger, more capable Patriot. I see so many Cherokees on the road still, I know the Liberty was a bit of a misstep for Jeep (although the flat-hood Renegade looks decent.)
  15. Now see I disagree with ya there. While the Hemi makes a Ridgeline look even more citified, the FWD-biased driveline completely turned me off.
  16. With designs like these, I am starting to take after my maternal grandfather. He was a Chrysler man (for cars at least) for decades. The Nitro, while its greenhouse reminds me of the same "bunker" style as an H3, looks great. An R/T is out of my reach, however. A part-time 4WD SXT optioned out like I'd want is around $26.4k. That's $400 more than my Colorado was 2 1/2 years ago. Not bad, but I wouldn't get an employee discount with a Dodge. Also, Mopar seems to have lower mpg ratings than others in class, especially GM. Still, the Nitro has some cool features, besides the macho looks... that slide-out load floor, for example, is brilliant. The M80 was such a cool looking little pickup truck. That was a major missed opportunity for Mopar, imo.

    F*ck.

Thanks for that, Vipes. I've been sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out the missing vowel in the title of this thread.
  18. spaghetti
  19. Some of the trucks must be dragging the percentages down. I didn't click on the link... how did the 360s do, the 355s... the vans? They had to at least stagnate for such a low overall increase, I would think.
  20. manual stimu... wait one sec.

    .....

Hmmm... he's right. It looks exactly like an NG Silverado, right down to the GMC lettering on the grille. GM really needs to work on differentiation more. OK, seriously, I'm glad the Sierra has a nice, upright front end. To heck with that laid back stuff. These 900 pickups are gonna be sweet.
  22. A good number of people who miss meaningful cars had to switch to trucks for personal transportation. Zeta gives them a reason to get back into a car with the characteristics they desire. RWD with available V8 power and a roomy cabin. That is what I meant in my above post. Plenty of people buy a pickup truck as their primary, or only vehicle, yet do very little hauling except for maybe an occasional trip to the home improvement store. Pickup trucks are now more refined than ever, Croc. Most even have automatic transmission, power steering and brakes. Some even have (get this) power windows, locks and mirrors... and leather seats! So yeah, pickup trucks are used as personal transportation, and I will venture to say it is at least partly because cars have been castrated with transverse 4 and 6 cylinder engines and FWD. I've made this point before and it still stands.
  23. Their bitches seem rather petty. I wonder what the take rate is for nav on 3 and Civic. Probably low, it's a pretty expensive option relative to MSRP on a compact.
  24. I love wandering around junkyards. I could spend a whole spring Saturday wandering around, becoming transfixed by all the memories invented on the spot as each new car is encountered.
