  1. Yup... the Mk IV was cool. In the 60's and 70's, some TV characters were known for their cars as much as anything else... I remember (barely) watching the show "Cannon". The main character always drove a Mk IV. I also like the Mk V.

    Please help!

Yes, I will definitely have them fix the water leak under warranty. The rattles are another story... no dealership tech likes to spend all day driving a customer's vehicle trying to track down noises, I won't be "that customer" anymore after my ION debacle. One thing, pickup truck owners: the spare tire is fully inflated under your truck when new, but, like any tire, could lose air over time, esp with the change of seasons. This could cause it to loosen up on the hoist and bump against the underbody, causing an annoying sound. Check and inflate your spare properly to be sure.
  3. Agreed, the Mk VII was a breakout from the gas crisis induced travesty that was the Mk VI. It was proof that a more responsibly-sized luxury car could have plenty of presence. Same as the '92 Eldorado. I just haven't seen a decently-kept Mk VIII in like forever. In my opinion, Lincoln has always been too close to her lesser sisters to truly compete with Cadillac. Cadillac was always set apart more, CiMORON be damned. The exception being the stunning '61 Continental, of course, and maybe a few others. But the original Zephyr even looked like a Ford.
  4. Yeah, the Glacier Blue looks awesome on the new Impy, I'd like to see that color expand across the line... a Cobalt SS/SC in Glacier Blue with black leather... it would look so hot with the factory rims. I'd like to see an HHR in Emerald Green (like on the TB) or Glacier Blue as well.

    Beautiful!

    $2.18 here in Lancaster yestaday.
  6. (((Nick))) Ya gotta be able to spot sarcasm, young sir, even without smilies. http://www.cheersandgears.com/public/style_emoticons//AH-HA_wink.gif
  7. aww, c'mon reg, if BBL's in the room (or not) there'd be no chance of that any time soon. Girls can be hot, but that's a line I won't cross anymore. Dudes rule.
  8. Here's a tip: google "The Village People". :P
  9. I didn't really answer before, but I'd like to meet just about anyone from here. Thanks for the mentions, too!
  10. hmmm... I recognize the bottom pic as the classy Kia Amanti, but what's the top pic? Who dared copy the Korean luxury motor vehicle?
  11. I've seen a couple episodes of that. Some of those "choosers" are mean! I saw one of the epi's with gay boys. Very catty. It's fairly entertaining in small doses.
  12. What did the baby eat? "Shades of baby poop" could mean anything from a subtle greenish black, all the way to an intense psychedelic orange.

    Please help!

I am starting to nitpick my truck, which usually means another new vehicle purchase is only a few months away. It won't be 2 years old until January 23rd and it has 27k miles. In heavy rains, it leaks. The headliner gets wet at the top of the driver's A-pillar. Also, it suddenly has a bunch of rattles in the doors and underneath. And I fear I am hearing the wear indicator on the front brake pads already. It's going in on Tuesday for a free promotional oil change and a brake inspection. I don't want to sound petty, I mean the truck runs fine, and starts with barely a flick of the key. It does have a couple very minor scuffs from people carelessly opening their doors into it, but otherwise it looks great. Do I need help? Is there a vehicle therapist in the house? How can I escape this itch to sign an installment contract?
  14. That Gladiator is sooo damn cool, tough and masculine. Love it!
  15. I am looking forward to seeing the Patriot. When does it hit the showrooms? Yes, I think the Caliber competes with Focus ZX5, Vibe, 3 hatch, etc., except with a bit of a trucky feel and look. It may not hurt the PT because it's modern looking... or, it may obliterate it. Notice the 4 cylinder gas engine is no longer available on Liberty for '06... it has 3.7L standard... paving the way for Patriot to fit right in just below it.
  16. OK, there's an awesome new vehicle that you've just gotta have, but there's one problem. The color you've seen (and love) on other cars isn't available on your model... bah. Name your vehicle and the color you wish it came in. For example, I'd love to see a Colorado shortbed regular cab ZQ8 in monochrome Laser Blue with Ebony leather and machined or polished factory rims, and a Colorado Z71 4X4 in that cool new pearl brown color that's on the LaCrosse and '06 Impala and Monte with tan interior, body color flares, and machined finished factory rims. I'd also like to see a nice pale yellow return, like the beautiful Butternut Yellow from GM's 60's pallette. Today's yellows are too bitter, too intense, imo. (Forgive me if you own one.)
  17. yah, right, fordrules. Sorry to hear that your Equinox is a POS, but honestly this could have happened with any brand of vehicle. It's a bitch when it happens to you though. What do you have your eye on?
  18. Trailblazer EXT and especially Envoy XL look like pregnant dachshunds. Not graceful.
  19. My uncle Ralph scrimped and saved his whole life to buy a Plymouth/Oldsmobile dealership in 1999. He still mumbles about it when we visit him in the crazy house. His dad sold Edsels and Desotos. He has a little dash from a Firedome and steering wheel from a Citation on his wheelchair at the old folks' home... he loves to push all the little buttons to "shift gears".
  20. Me no like the last-gen Celica. I liked the first gen (mini Mustang) before big bumpers, and I liked the first Calty-designed car... was that second-gen? The first California-designed Celica? I remember actually being excited to see a Celica with the longer nose... which meant it was a Celica Supra, with the inline six. Now I think Toyota is the Anti-Christ. <_<
  21. I liked the Prelude, all gens. The Mark VIII is another illustration of the fact that they don't hold up as well as Cadillac in looks, durability, desirability as a used car... nothing. Last-gen Eldorados still look good, especially in TC trim. The Mark VIII is nothing more than a tarted-up Thunderbird, and now whenever I see one, it's a ragged-out hooptie sagging on its air springs. I personally think the Mark VII was a better effort.
  22. reg, I don't think Vipes was talking abote the pics of Knight Rider. Anyhoo, David Hasselhoff (sp?) is pure cheese in a speedo, bleh. Hey, can someone make the Charger grille into a Pontiac grille? Maybe that will make it easier to see a connection between the two.

    haha

Yeah, the Prius is the whipping boy of the moment. Gotta love to hate a Prius!
  24. Vipes, excellent adjective for the new Civic coupe... "frumpy". I guess it's only me, but the Ford triplets look somewhat dated... maybe it's the greenhouse. I can't get into them, except for the sharp front ends on all three. The G6 coupe is very cool. Thanks for the front 3/4 views, Vipes, showing off that nice sharp hip line. I like the reflection in the showroom window of the rear end of the white GTP. Dealer hopping is fun. I still do it sometimes on Sunday afternoons.
  25. How in the world... you must be playing something with your peter.
