  1. Here I am, blowing my mouth off about the softness of this new van's front end... but there is a precedent for it... here's the 1999 model.
  2. Can't do it without peeling off the vinyl top first. A hateful situation.
  3. Oh yes, i had the 5-speed 2.4 combo and liked it pretty well. I had forgotten about that tiny gas tank! 13.5 gallons i believe. that did aggravate some, but at leasst i had he most fuel efficient AWD (regularly saw 30MPG+) so I am sure it was worse because of the lower gearing the FD2 CVT. 19-21, so yeah, it was hamstrung by a tiny tank and poor mileage for its size. Looking back, I would have traded the Trail Rated badges for the 4WD with stick shift.
  4. Nissan wants to be as LOVED as the Detroit Big 3 pickups with that "nod" to the masters. Wishful thinking.
  5. I hope they choose Patriot for the Compass/Patriot successor. I read today that Chrysler has confirmed a replacement is coming soon, and it will keep one of those two names. Only things I didn't like about my Trail Rated Patriot were the tiny gas tank and the CVT.
  6. Interesting in the roof area, reminds me of the 700 Concept van in toned down form. I don't care for the front... it is too soft for me, just as it is too soft on the 200. If this is what we can expect from all upcoming Chryslers in the front end, it will mean the end of the 300's unique, brash American personality. I do not care for the name change. Pacifica was a piece of junk. I hope the Town & Country name appears on the crossover based on this. With all of that said, it is easily the nicest minivan ever built, and for those who need one, it's the one and only choice.
  7. Agreed, super nice, especially when you have a load on (imagine if you will... MULCH), you have a flat tire, and realize the spare is accessed through a trapdoor located in the BED FLOOR. Or how about when you're towing and you realize the tongue weight of the trailer is actually taking weight OFF the primary drive (AND STEERING) wheels? FWD is simply stupid for anything purporting to be a "real" working truck. And a Dodge Rampage/Plymouth Scamp at least had the decency to put the spare under the bed... not INSIDE it. frogger, this is not meant to insult you, I just had to post my views on this useless contraption called Ridgeline.
  8. I like it actually. LOVE the blue interior color, but think those seats will be a nightmare when they get old and broken. Photos have been posted of the production car with blue exterior, which lends it a patrician air. And if they couldn't bring a car with the right chassis (RWD), then the compromise of the 400-hp V6 with AWD seems OK I guess. In all photos, I feel the hood is too short, but if they made it longer, then overhang would have been a stylistic problem, with the FWD proportions.
  9. First thing I thought when I looked at it was "Durango", but now I see the resemblance to the old Envoy, which is still seen quite a bit in my area, the Envoy being a genuine SUV, BOF with longitudinal engine. Second glance makes me snicker a bit at the "All Terrain" model, with its giant wheels, low profile tires and CUV low-slung stance. Makes me want to put the word "progress" in quotation marks. It's for poseurs, this All-Terrain concept (even on the Sierra and Canyon), but I have to concede... it is geared toward how customers will actually use them, not some mythical, masculine ideal where guys go on real adventures on weekends... not to a Starbucks in the corner of the mall parking lot. If Ford does the same thing to the Bronco, there are going to be a lot of disillusioned Ford lovers out there. Seems like the only SUV drivers who care about real adventure anymore are second, and subsequent, owners of Wranglers.
  10. I don't know... I kinda like the All-Terrain model. Reminds me of a Durango for some reason though. Perhaps it's been "right-sized"?
  11. The quickest Buick ever built (I forget the name, sadly) was a turbo V6. This is MORE than a worthy successor to that illustrious history that keeps haunting/carrying Buick's performance fans.
  12. It is amazing to me how much a simple tire swap and a bit of a lift can change a vehicle's entire demeanor. Would be SO entertaining to see Chevy build a Trax Z71 with a 1.6t, a lift kit, Wrangler Duratracs, and the requisite trim changes.
  13. I think I'm going to just go ahead and hyper ventilate on this. This car is EVERYTHING!
  14. Buick Avista... just look at this beauty... those proportions... it's gotta be on Alpha!
  15. Very sorry to hear about your pup, Moltie.
  16. Why you so hyper? I never mentioned any names. And for Alpha not to support RHD, well, that is a basic mistake on GM's part.
  17. When the release says "Camaro-sized" of course my brain takes that as a clue that the car will be Alpha-based. I am ready to be bowled over by Buick's concepts two yerrs in a row... Avenir rocked the house!
  18. Hmmm... a sporty Buick coupe on Alpha? This could get inneresting!
  19. Whoa, WWF? More like W TEE F.
