    Thanks, Roger.
  3. Oh I drove my mother's Cube plenty of times. And my estimation stands pat.
  4. I am always surprised how many miles I put on at the end of the day. It is reassuring to know I don't have to worry one second about how far I've traveled. I have no tether to my home when I leave.
  5. Wow I have a 2-speed CVT and next thing ya know, Chrysler has a NINE-speed auto coming.
  6. Thanks, Camino. I was hot-n-heavy on these back in the day.
  7. MACARENA OK, sounds good.

Yes, I sawr a black-on-black Kafer TDI manual at the local dealer a few weeks ago, and it was spectacular. $24,525 with all-weather floormat kit.
  9. Well I think the Frontier has a new optional 6-foot bed with their crewcab this year. I am not sure if Yota has a 5- or 6-foot bed with their crew. It seems like this new GM truck will match the Japanese trucks in size... I just hope they get better fuel mileage than the Datsun, at least. The Frontier has horrible ratings for a "small" truck (14/19???). I have faith these new ones will continue GM's tradition of best-in-class real world MPG... the 4.3 should be ideal with all the improvements and 6-speed transmissions. Oh how I long for the days of Li'l Hustler, LUV, Courier, D-50 and Truck (Toyota's creative model name back then, IIRC).

  11. Nah dude, you're alright, no offense taken.
  12. These were such a big deal back then... it was the re-ignition of the ponycar horsepower race. Chevy dropped the beautiful bomb in 1982 with the new Camaro, but it was gutless, with the 165-hp Crossfire Injected 305. Ford answered this gorgeous car with the '83 Mustang 5.0 H.O., and the war was on... the '84 L69 190-hp 305 killed that year's 5.0 in the Mustang, and the rest was history. It possibly got us where we are today, with such great choices as the ZL1 Camaro, GT500 Mustang and Challenger SRT 392. I would prefer blue interior, but this one is a beauty... and with full hardtop and no a/c, possibly the quickest Camaro combination available that year. Just as in '64.5, Ford (re-) started it with their '83, then Chevy answered in '84, and so it goes...
  13. yup thanks! I was sighing because I said like a dozen words and you answered with 5,347.
  14. I am not American sized then.
  15. In my mind, the Encore is skewed way more toward sedate luxury than the Juke or any theoretical competitor for it. Encore is a class of ONE, for sure, so far, but it is no Juke rival.
  16. True dat. The styling is fine on the Trax, imo. It should be sold here. Plus, I was looking at the 2014 Fiesta site earlier today, and the available color choices simply blow the Sonic away in vibrancy and variety. GM is just not known for being adventurous in colors... the Spark is the only GM vehicle I know of that pushes the envelope, imo, with Techno Pink, Jalapeno and Lemonade. Juke comes in a garish, rich gold hue this year... fits the character of the vehicle perfectly.
  17. Well yeah, the Trax is cool, a "younger" vehicle than the Encore, but a Juke competitor? Is it funky and sporty enough? Maybe with some crazier rims and flashier colors, in and out. As it is, it is not quite there... whoa, a Pontiac version of the Trax has just entered my head, with a truly unique, Pontiac nose and taillights, complimentary (as opposed to contrasting) cladding, rims... plus 1.6T engine and a six speed manual... dammit. The Sonic can be ordered with trendy, black painted wheels and color-themed grille surround, mirror and rear spoiler packages. If the Trax were sold here, perhaps that could be a start toward luring the yutes to this ute.
  18. It's got the cool tan exterior and the tan and black interior treatment. Wicked nice. How about some more photos over here, Mr. JLGolden?

It is always a sad reminder of our own mortality. Thanks, Moltie, and same to you. I hope your visit is productive.
  20. Certainly leaves room for something smaller beneath it... hello GM? Instead of the "two-truck strategy" you spoke of at the '14 fullsize intro in reference to the new midsize trucks, how about a 3-pronged approach? That Granite pickup would have made a sweet little hauler, too bad it died. I hope this thing has a good looking front end for the U.S. - I am a little concerned, looking at the tautness of the canvas, it appears this one has the same bumper as the international version...
  21. Interesting idea. I'll have to refresh myself on that old Toyota concept. If only GM would not be scared of such a concept... it would have been something for Pontiac to get involved in. EDIT: just googled a gallery of the Toyota RSC... I didn't realize it was so cool looking. It would make a nice, coupe version of the Corolla if it weren't jacked up and widened for "off road", if Toyota weren't such a stiff upper lip kind of company. If they ever let loose, they could really cement themselves.
  22. What does it do to the price then, relative to our base 3.6L GC and current exchange rates? EDIT: well that just made me mad as heck, at the Jeep ® UK site, configurator, spec-ing out a diesel Compass that we cannot get. That would be soooo ideal in a Patriot here in America.
