  1. Verano has gotten universal praise from reviewers so far. Hopefully the public will discover it soon... is momentum building for it yet, saleswise? I'm agreeing with reg... why's the good motor gotta be paired with a loaded car? One step up from base, turbo manual is all I'd need.
  2. I still think boost eats gas. I mean, people are reporting similar fuel mileage out of the 5.0 and Ecoboost V6 in the F-150. Why are people not realizing that the simpler, relatively understressed engine is the way to go, especially in a pickup truck?
  3. Good Lord this is gonna be a $30k Delta platform car! The realization just hit me like a ton of bricks.
  4. But then I remember a freakin' FORD ESCAPE can be optioned up into the $38k range...
  5. I had a girlfriend once who drove a 4-door Rabbit diesel with 300k miles on it. She hauled bales of hay in it for her horses, for cryin' out loud. It was a little tank. A diesel without tank-like reliability is nothing, imo.
  6. See now, the base model is so nice it renders the Denali redundant. Shoot, I'd happily take an SLE-1 AWD 3.6 if I were looking for a street-only CUV.
  7. Hyper did you say the Verano Turbo will use a Hurst shifter???
  8. Well they are unbeaten in the class for versatility with those magic seats and whatnot. Everybody else is conventional. A 6-speed transmission for more serene highway cruising is all it really needs at its age, and it still wins comparison tests.
  9. Too much money, not enough beef.
  10. Point blank: you cannot rule the world with paper tigers. Fix your TDi problems, VW. NOW.
  11. I swear that roof is cut away from the red car. Look how the branches go behind the windshield there. The front window is up, you can see the sash and the tint line where it meets the branches at the top, but the branches overhang the top of the glass and are visible inside it. Am I dreaming? Is this a homemade convertible? Need moar photos.
  12. Strong powertrain options, but I hope for a gas 4 and V6 for America. Styling is not a strong suit in the iterations I've seen so far. The front end is outdated by the new Traverse and Impala (I say this because the Colorado face is clearly inspired by cars, not trucks). As ever, I hope for front end sheetmetal changes, the option for bigger tires, and powertrain additions for America. As well as a GMC version.
  13. Yup, I see that, I was over at one of the "old car brochure" sites, noted the full stainless windshield post trim on ragtops, and no mention of a Ventura convertible, only Bonneville. I guess with a breezy bubbletop, there's gonna be a lof ot light coming in. Just looks weird in the photo to me.
  14. And an Impala TT-V6 convertible? *orgasmic spasm*
  15. There's so much light on the interior though. I cannot really tell. Will need to google to check A-pillar trim.
  16. Yeah I like the '70-'73. The later sugar scoop headlights, aluminum bar (and later plastic) bumpers and more generic taillights lessened its appeal by tacking on too much crap.
  17. And all of those in a coupe. Think of it: a relatively big, comfy American coupe with hidden capability, emphasis on American. Walk softly and carry a big stick, indeed.
  18. Srsly? *checking*
  19. Clearly represents a nice leap in evolution to Art & Science.
  20. Verano Turbo = jewel. Who else does this? If only a notchback coupe to accompany the sedan...
  21. The Pontiac is by comparison subdued. I find the Olds ugly, too many disjoints. The Buick's pleasant color saves it. The Cadillac is classy, more timeless. The Impala's color makes it a caricature, it would be better represented dressed in something less polarizing.
  22. SORRY HONDA, but this makes your Acura ILX look worthless. Some might argue the Acura has a more modern style v. the Buick. Acura diehards can take small comfort in that when they're starin' at rapidly receding angry eye taillights... TTTTTTTTTT...........
  23. Unthinkable just a few shawt years ago. Wait a minit, didn't the J-body Skyhawk come with an optional turbo in the T-Type back in the day? This is one cool baby buford! I love the red T badge on the decklid, it certainly brings back memories of the late 70's-80's T-Types. And it's blue! Is that Blue Topaz? Very nice indeed.
  24. Well then just wait a few weeks, it should be big enough then.
