  1. It's good to see a smile on a new driver's face.
  2. Long day @ work yesterday, then we had a powwow with our dealer principal at a local highclass steak house, didn't get out of there until 7:30. A coworker who lives on the way dropped me off @ the dealership where we rushed through the paperwork, didn't get out of the dealership until 8:30, came out to look @ the car, under the florescent lights, the cleanup left much to be desired, drove home, put it in the garage and peeled off their advertisement on the decklid, came upstairs and went to bed because I still hurt some. Whew. But I got my new vehicle. I'll clean it up myself ASAP and get some photos and impressions up. Happy this is over and done with. Happy for an excellent credit score. Payments ended up at $7 more per month than the Ford Fiesta. I couldn't have asked for better I guess. Cheers. And Gears.

    2012 Buick Verano

As solid as the Cruze feels driving it, a "Quiet Tuned" Verano must be like a vault inside. Cruze has 6-way manual adjustments on both front seats... good enough for me, I'll be the only one in the car prolly 90% of the time anyway.
  4. Whoa, these new clues are scrambling my radar! Could there be room for a Ridgeline clone AND a true compact truck? Not sher what to make of this.
  5. Our Odyssey was yellow. It was much fun.
  6. Yeah, I would prefer the all-black with the Victory Red, or maybe even the tan. If I HAD to take a Cruze with the black and red interior, it would have to be silver, black or Black Granite on the outside, otherwise too much red for me. I was thinking my car would have the black and gray seats, but they're all gray, with black carpets, door panels and dash, save for the gray swaths. Reminds me of the vehicle I've kept the longest so far in my life... '94 S-10 was bright blue with gray split bench. If that bitch Irene holds her temper, I'll try to head over to the County Park for photos to post this weekend.

The base model LS has a 1.8L Ecotec, and the rest of the line uses a 1.4L turbocharged Ecotec with more torque than the base engine. Am I right guys?
  8. Did it have the back and red interior? I am not a fan of fire engine red interiors (hated the HHR SS black and bright red leather), but the red upholstery fabric on the seats in the Cruze is such that you have to look at it straight on to get any full effect of the red. I like the subtlety of it.

I'll have to see what's legal percentagewise. They're at 70% from the factory, according to the etch. And it comes with an engine, I opened the hood to check.

    2012 Buick Verano

I think you'd look good in one, Paulie. I think it's really snazzy, myself. I wish it had a sweepspear, the sides are Opel-y, like the Riggle. I do appreciate the sumptuous interior and the Buick front end, ventiports, and angry taillights, which, to me, hark back to the angry '59... the LaCrosse has mildly perturbed taillights, but the headlights are in a stern mood. Adds a sense of authority, which a Buick should have, imo.
  11. WMJ, are you trying to make me cry myself to sleep?
  12. Sounds like a nice ride, RJ.

I think it would look cool with dark windows... would make the little black triangle trim piece blend in, and I just think it sets a vehicle off. Never did it to any of my previous vehicles, though. I'll have to check prices.
  14. How's it going so far with yours, Mr. Dart? I went to look at mine tonight. It's at my selling dealer, but not cleaned up yet. I'm excited! I went over there tonight because tomorrow night I will be dropped off there by a co-worker, after a meeting, with no car. Wanted to make sure it's in good shape and all.

  16. GM and Dodge use the "stainless hubcap crimped to steel rim" style, too. I had them on my '02 Silvy, they're still available on the GMT900.
  17. I still wanna know how come they dangle green and then take it away.

  19. We're all GM's biggest fans and toughest critics, but the horse you're beating in this thread is practically a dry skeleton. You can get chrome on a roll and armrests with cupholders at Pep Boys. I thought you wanted a CTS coupe. But maybe something fell through and now it has to be the vorst car in ze world because you can't have it. Not quite sure. I'm inventing stories now, trying to keep up with the theme in here. My criticism of the CTS coupe is the big fat ass it has. But the performance of the V version eclipses all of our quibbles. In the dark days, namely 1986, when Cadillac's flagship coupe was reduced to a pair of featureless blocks stacked on top of one another... who in their right mind would have dreamed of this day when we can fight over a magnificent car like this?

I'm thinking about calling a very handsome Latin boy who does window tinting. Other than that, I think I'll leave it stock and try to keep it as clean as possible. These next two days are gonna be long ones. Whoever said driving a base model Mazda 3 2.0L autotragic is anything near "zoom-zoom"? Although I am thankful my employers think enough of me to let me use it during this trying time.

But the colors are so pretty... I have a red one for my headache, a green one for my backache, and a little blue one for when I'm feeling limp!
  23. Dodge, sry... Ram's half-ton 20" "chrome" wheel is the same way. It's a city boy's truck wheel design, for sure. Go to buy a replacement, you'll think you're paying for the real thing.
