  1. Subaru Legacy has guaranteed higher residual value. It has (like all Subies) the Top Safety Pick of the IIHS, should translate into lower insurance rates. There are more places to have it serviced in case you need to switch dealers for any reason or you're traveling. What if you have a falling out with the dealer over something? How much farther would you need to travel to reach another Suzuki dealer? There are so many reasons to avoid Suzuki in its present state. I was hoping something good would happen for Suzuki since their tie-up with VW, but all we hear are rumblings of discontent on both sides. This can not be good for Suzuki. You can be sure VW will come out of this episode unscathed.
  2. The door strikers are painted over, that's a dead giveaway it wasn't completely torn down for painting.
  3. I am not atall sure about anyone else, but after seeing spyshots of a first-gen CTS wagon I cannot help but wish it had been produced. It looks really good, and I especially love the roofline and tail end treatment. It has a REAL station wagon look to it, with nice big quarter windows so you can see out of it, unlike the second-gen production version.
  4. I don't know, since the advent of the darker wheels/headlights, I prefer my Corvettes that way. They look meaner, and that's how a Corvette should look, imo. That blue with dark wheels and headlights would look smashing, imo.
  5. I also prefer the dark headlights with the orange, too.
  6. Gesundheit Not as top tier for resale and full product realization as the Legacy. Is the Kizashi a Top Safety Pick of the IIHS? That might affect insurance rates. Mine went through the floor when I bought my Fiesta, which is also a Top Safety Pick.
  7. I really like the orange, but I think it would look even better with gunmetal wheels. Are the gunmetal ones available on the GS?
  8. With my parking brake handle? Good idear bobo!
  9. It would prolly be good as a full stew with potato cut up in it instead of over rice. But then it might not be Country Captain.
  10. Yeah I was referencing Mr. Dart's NASCAR thread in regards to fuel injection. You should build a B&S motor with injection, supercharger, water cooling and tubular header. Stick it on a flamed-out deck and put Viper wheels on it.
  11. So I'm traveling down a suburban road, when an F-150 makes a right turn from a side road, with no turn signal, and swings way over into my lane coming toward me. She barely makes it back into her lane as I get to her. I look over and she's just smilin' and jackin' her jaws on a CELL PHONE, completely oblivious to the task at hand, seemingly, and that is... DRIVING HELLO. Freakin' birdbrain individuals out there, I'm tellin' ya. And the laws banning cell phone use while driving will not work until someone has an accident and it is proven they were using their phone at the time. What sort of alignment of the stars has to happen for a police officer to actually be there and see this stuff as it happens?
  12. Stuck on a sunny, dry 2-lane highway in a 55 mph zone doing 45 the other day, double yellow lines mocking my plight, behind a Toyota Highlander with a "HOW'S MY DRIVING" sticker with a car number and phone number. No traffic ahead of him (because they're all doing 55 and they're way ahead). Wondering if I'm on television somewhere. After about 5 miles of this, the road goes to 4 lanes and he sticks in the left lane. There's an immediate intersection. As I pass him on the right, I notice he's been gabbing on his cell phone the whole time as he turns left off the highway. Ah yes, the torture of having a solution to a driving cell phone jabberjaw (the phone number on the sticker), but being unable to use it (no cell phone use while driving, my personal rule). Plus I get no happiness watching him get schmaller in my rearview because he turned off as soon as I had the chance to blow by.
  13. Seems a normal human proclivity to want to be near others of your feather. When on a road trip, do you take note of other vehicles around you? Do you tend to form a convoy of good buddies and travel for miles, maybe mildly jockeying for position in line, but staying together in a ragtag group? Strangers traveling on the road of life together, separately, having never spoken, maybe glancing over for a split second to see who's who... And it all falls apart when they turn off, or when you hit the toll booths and they have an easy pass and you have to go into the "cash only" line.
  14. No, I wonder what the torque figure is (without watching first). EDIT: cool, but after watching, dude better not lean in too close, he'll have his beard snatched off by a blower belt.
  15. American Telephone & Telegraph 1810 for my landline home phone. LG flip of some sort with the Verizon logo on it. Both dead reliable and completely sufficient.
  16. Oh now that sounds yummy. I'll have to try that. As for a recipe, I'll wing it.
  17. I thought somebody said Albert didn't care for the Cruze, too schmall or somesuch... and to wait for the diesel when the CR-V is giving trouble now, well...
  18. I wouldn't mind puttin' my finger in that pie!
  19. When is Briggs & Stratton going to join the 80's?
  20. Haha, Tata. No man, a TATRA is one of those European, air-cooled, rear engined aerodynamic engineering marvels from Back In The Day.
  21. Looks good, balthy. Now it must be anchored to something REALLY solid so it can do its job properly.
  22. That's the question of the decade, riviera74.

    Finally!

Yup, but not until after noon. The door is in... they didn't leave until after 6 pm! The door was purchased from Lowe's, they were chosen by them to install it. It looks good and works well. Why they wanted to wait until high noon to show up is beyond me, in all that heat.
  24. Better than E-coD I guess.
  25. Long time coming. I wonder what ppl are getting, mileage-wise, with their diesel Cruzes in Europe, converted over to MPG. And will the US version get the same engine?
